  1. Oh, meant to add, up next - the Republic of Ireland...
  2. Matchday 36 - 2061 Well, it all comes down to this. Lose and I'll be in Albania for at least another season, anything else and we're champions and I'll be off. It's been a win each, and a draw so far in head to heads with Kukesi this season, so obviously a very close one...
  3. April 2061 Another busy month in the run in and, getting put out the cup aside, we came through it relatively well. Threw away a 2-0 lead against Tirana, but other than that all good. Still just a point in it with three games to go. We face Bylis and Teuta before a final day game against Kukesi. They have Pogradeci and KF Tirana. I would really like this settled before the final day.
  4. This is why I'd be very keen to sign Hastie, even if he has only had about 2 decent months in his entire professional career. I know we've had very quick players before who were fucking abysmal (yes, I am talking about you Miles), but someone else with some pace is a must. If we can get a quick full back too, that'd be delightful. I think I'd be relatively content with Mayo and Holt at centre back tbh.
  5. 1. Kilmarnock - largely because I think Tommy Wright is a much better manager than Peter Grant. The big concern for killie, imo, is a bit of a lack of quality up front, but if they can find a striker who’ll get double figures, they’ll win it fairly comfortably in the end I think. They have several players (Burke, McKenzie, Naismith) who I think are too good to be in this league. 2. Dunfermline Athletic - Peter Grant is a diddy, but they looked very good going forward against us. The problem is the defence, we looked very dangerous against them as well and Mehmet isn’t up to much. I also think that Grants insistence on playing out from the back at all times will cost them quite a few goals, and I don’t think Todorov will keep up his scoring run all season, so interesting to see what happens then. A good season and I would fancy them in the playoffs, but won’t quite match Killie. 3. Raith Rovers - Lost a few important players, but they still have a solid team and a good manager as well. A bit like Killie in that they (from the outside) are missing a striker but they should be a good side. 4. Thistle - Probably a bit of optimism here, but I think we look great going forward, our central midfield of Bannigan and Docherty is strong and Stone looks like a good goalkeeper. The less said about our nonsense of a defence the better, but I would say that I don’t think there’s any signings we can make which will make it worse, and of the two who played against Dunfermline, one is going to be back up and one has been told to find a new club - so that’s nice. I think we’ll scrape into fourth late on, having not been near Killie or the Pars all season. 5. Hamilton Academical - will be quite mediocre but ultimately do enough to just fall short of the playoffs imo. The big worry is that the main striker seems to be Andy Ryan, a guy who’s never, ever scored consistently at this level despite quite a few attempts at it, but oh well. I think they’ll have a hilariously poor start, sack Rice and get someone vaguely competent in and that’ll be enough to see them fine. 6. Queen of the South - I think they’ll do surprisingly ok. They’ve made some (on paper) good-ish signings - Paul McKay and Harry Cochrane the ones that caught my eye. That said, they’re playing Ally Roy up front and haven’t defended a cross properly for about 10 years now, so who knows. 7. Inverness Caledonian Thistle - The great unknown, I wouldn’t actually be surprised to see them finish anywhere between 1st and 10th. At the minute, I’m erring on the ‘Billy Dodds is a moron who doesn’t know what he’s doing’ side of things so a poor season for them imo. But maybe once he’s worked on the defence they’ll be fine. 8. Arbroath - Being part time will almost always limit what can be achieved in this league, but Campbell knows what he’s doing and that defence remains formidable. Plus, they have Gayfield which can lead to some absolute nonsense games in the wind. I think they’ll flirt with relegation but ultimately be fine. 9. Ayr United - Some decent players (McAdams, Moffat, Reading), but history shows us quite clearly that teams with Sean McGinty in them stink out this division and I expect that will continue. Looking at the rest of it, I just don’t see anyone who’ll create chances, and the boy Salkeld was one of the least technically gifted players I’ve ever seen so it’ll mo be him. A grim season of Hopkin-ball, lightened up by thumping Falkirk in the playoffs to everyone’s massive amusement. 10. Greenock Morton - looking at their squad, I just can’t see any reason for optimism in Greenock. Given the fan takeover, it’s understandable and they obviously have other issues to take care of but I think it’ll be an utterly bleak season for Morton. And you’ll still be paying money to watch Robbie Muirhead, so my condolences there. And Cameron fucking Blues.
  6. If we are in for Hastie, has anywhere said if that’s looking like a loan or a Zak Rudden style deal where they can buy him back if he turns out decent?
  7. I think that’s what made it a belter from pep, his claim was that Faldo was absolutely miles ahead of Murray. Which is obviously ludicrous.
  8. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugues_Fabrice_Zango World indoor record holder for the triple jump is from Burkina Faso. Bronze medalist at the 2019 world championships. That’s the best I can find, and I’d say the footballers are better.
  9. We never sacked him when we were sitting 5th in League One with 7 games left, I don’t see why we would when we don’t win the league this year. I think our board would be pretty happy if we’re challenging for the promotion playoffs, and I can’t see McCall being punted unless we look like going back down. Rice seems like a bad manager, but then so did Martin Canning and Accies kept him on for about 20 years so f**k knows if their board even knows that they’re allowed to sack managers. Same with Dunfermline who generally give them too much time. Arbroath and Raith won’t sack there’s, but that’s because they’re quite good managers. Its between Dodds and Hopkin for me, with Johnston an outside bet. Dodds seems like a complete moron and I think Caley will be quite shite under him, while Hopkin plays an atrocious style of football which is fine if he can get results but if he can’t I can see the fans turning very quickly. Let’s say it’ll be Hopkin.
  10. We’ll still definitely have a bigger budget that Queens do, because we’re fucking massive*. Will be interesting to see how Queens get on having replaced Dobbie with a grass, and seemingly having barely anyone left from last season. *not really.
  11. March 2061 Mixed. We started with our best performance of the season against Teuta, where everything just clicked. However, we just couldn't follow that up and were outplayed by Kukesi - a real shame. Rest of it was fine, a standard win against Partizani and a narrow loss in the cup, but we still have the second leg left. Losing to Kukesi means our lead is just two points, but that's still a decent enough effort. We have one game left against them - last game of the season. I don't want the title to be riding on that one. Latvia Two completely expected defeats, but both were closer than I had thought they'd be. We were 9 minutes from a genuinely remarkable result away against Belgium, with our goalkeeper saving two penalties. They definitely deserved to win, but was a bit gutting to be so close to stealing a draw and not manage it. North Macedonia are a decent enough team, with guys playing in the Bundesliga and Serie A in their side. Still, we did ok and, again, could have nicked a draw despite them being the better side in the game. I mean, our already remote qualification hopes are basically done for but all I'm really hoping for at this stage is a semi-respectable showing. Anyway, I uncovered another two guys in my squad who don't play in Latvia and are therefore half decent. The goalkeeper who save two penalties, Makreckis, is playing in the Belgian top flight. He's a back up goalkeeper for his club, but he's another who is pretty young and already has 42 caps - another contender for record cap holder. Rihards Sakurovs is a 17 year old centre half playing for Valarenga's youth team, but he's already more than good enough for my team. If he can improve a bit, he'll be a fantastic player for Latvia. If I could get a few more like him, we'd be a pretty alright side.
  12. February 2061 A good month, again, albeit we weren't entirely convincing in any of the games. Wins at all of the bottom three, a loss in the cup which was still enough to see us into the semi final on aggregate and a draw with Tirana. Couple of last minute winners as well, which is always delightful. Kukesi had a couple of poor results, which has allowed us to pull slightly ahead. Wonderful. We're playing them next month, so it's good to have a wee buffer.
  13. Aye, I was actually asking for evidence. A source, for example. Just repeating your claim isn’t evidence.
  14. Can you provide evidence for those numbers, at least? One months worth shouldn’t too much effort for you.
  15. As I recall, it all came from an aimless punt up the park that O’Ware failed to control before attempting to beat his man, and fucking that up as well. About 2 minutes in. Sums up his Thistle career perfectly.
  16. I’m taking it as ‘O’Ware will be away shortly once we’ve agreed how much we’re paying him off.” But anything which means O’Ware won’t be playing is a positive. Like you, I think he’ll turn up at Falkirk, or possibly Airdrie. Shame for him that it hasn’t worked out, but as you say he’s been injured almost the whole time, and when he wasn’t injured he was mostly pish. Edit: I think the Rangers loanee might be the boy McClellan who was at Falkirk last season. I hope not though because he wasn’t very good.
  17. We’ve just signed Cammy Smith, what’s he like? I remember him being decent but nothing specific.
  18. Pretty pleased with that, I vaguely recall him being quite good at Ayr.
  19. Reality is that you or I, by virtue of being straight, white men, are in a position to do something about this kind of behaviour which other groups aren’t. By not doing anything to confront shite like cat calling if/when we encounter it, are we complicit in allowing it to happen?
