  1. I think you’re on the wrong site, this is far too well though out and reasoned for P&B. pretty hard to disagree with you on most things. Arguably the hardest league to predict in years with so little between teams.
  2. Normally way off but I’ll go with below for my “guess”. DUFC will be obvious favourites and QPFC have a bit of cash behind them. Airdrie will be obvious favourites for the drop coming up through the playoff a long way behind the Pars but they wouldn’t be the first team to stun everyone and their first 3-4 results I think will determine their season. Don’t think there’s much between most teams and a lot could come down to luck with injuries. Should be an exciting league and looking forward to trips to the 3 new teams. 1. Dundee Utd 2. Queens Park 3. Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4. Raith Rovers 5. Dunfermline Athletic 6. Ayr United 7. Partick Thistle 8. Arbroath 9. Morton 10. Airdrieonians
  3. Seems unfair if Queens Park win the double your winnings are more if you’re an Airdrie fan.
  4. Decent game the day, always harsh to lose on penalties but they could go either way. New Central Park is looking pretty decent, some amount of work put in over the past few years. Best of luck for the season.
  5. Get through and watch it, you’ll be sat in the bar otherwise wishing you’d gone to the game. Hopefully a decent game with a bit of atmosphere. League cup has become glorified friendlies so hopefully a Fife Derby has a bit of an edge to it. Don’t worry with the 5.15 KO it doesn’t matter if we’ve paid our leccy bill this time.
  6. Game day, anyone know how strong Kelty are these days? Were flying up the leagues and obviously hit their ceiling at league 1 but we’re a tidy club capable of giving anyone a game. Obviously since then we’ve raided their board and they seem to have lost a few names. Are they likely on the decline or have they replaced what they had. Got a soft spot for Kelty as I’ve always been a supporter of a Scottish Pyramid system and they were the Junior team who called out the BS the SJFA we’re feeding everyone and started the flood followed by Dalkeith. Never easy to be the one that breaks rank and there were plenty who wanted Kelty to fall on their arse.
  7. Not sure about the new top, sort of looks like 3 strips chopped into one but I’ll wait until I see it in person before making my final opinion although I’m not a fan of the collar. Shots wise I agree they should definitely be white. Football seems to be heading towards the one colour strip like USA Basketball has to make sure there’s no clash of colours for the referee. Strange as most clubs had white shots and it was never a problem in the past. But certainly at international level Scotland seem to be Blue shits and blue shorts these days.
  8. Ticket bought for Pars cup game (£18 seems reasonable), buzzing now for the season to start. Murray seems to have done some decent business and so far we look a stronger squad than last season. Guess we’ll maybe see another defender coming in possibly two and that’ll be about us done for the window. Interesting to see what we put out against Kelty as it’s a Fife Cup game rather than a friendly but I expected Murray will treat it the same as the last two matches. Kelty, East Fife and Pars not a bad run of games for a bit of local interest.
  9. True but Denise Clair at least gets to see him suffer some actual consequences for his action where in the past all she saw was him play on all be it at a lower level with little to no real consequences. As stated above by SirJimmyofNic it’s time he realised his career as a footballer is finished and just faded into obscurity as David Robertson has.
  10. Mental pricing, it’s only £10 to for a match ticket, be amazed if many fans are willing to pay that for a friendly. With it being a Tuesday night there won’t be many Rovers fans heading up but at £5-£7.50 you’d probably have got quite a few tuning in. It’s up to Montrose what they charge but I think it’ll lose them money charging that much for a preseason friendly.
  11. We’re never besting Caley Thistle . We could bring in Messi, Ronaldo and De Bruyne and still scrape a draw.
  12. Why is it such a struggle for supporters in Scotland to get their head around the fact that the SPL ceased to exist in 2013. It’s been ten years and you still see people referring to it as the SPL. If we’re going to aim to join defunct divisions I think we should aim for Scottish Division one sometime around the early 20s. We were pretty decent back then.
  13. Looking good, let’s not rush the away ones remember who the first visitors are . Great to see work going on to improve the facilities, it can only help to attract players to the club. New board certainly showing ambition to improve the club both on and off the field.
  14. I shall be sure to inform him that you’re referring to him as “Old Dave” I’m sure he’ll be delighted.
  15. Have to respectfully disagree with you there, the South Stand will be like a morgue if you move the “singing section” to the North end of the Railways stand. Like or dislike the Young lads with their Pyro and drum they create the atmosphere, if you move that to the other end of the pitch then the entire atmosphere will be at one end THE AWAY END. You need the home atmosphere to be at the home end not the away, whether that’s at the back of the South Stand or in the Railway Stand it needs to be at the South end of the ground.
  16. It’s pretty strange reading, i like the statement that we never seem to have any financial issues despite our small support (if only crowd wanks won games the Bairns could be in Europe). I must have dreamed all those games last season where we couldn’t field a proper bench of more than 2 or 3 and didn’t even have kids pad it out. So far all we’ve done is get our business done earlier than most clubs, hardly surprising as unlike the other clubs we knew what league we’d play in this season ages ago and it was obvious where our massive issues were.
  17. Lesser Hampden is a real place! Always thought it was a mythical Nirvana dreamt up by Leeann Demster. Everyday’s a school day.
  18. Great news, it’s 2012 all over again. SFA and SPFL thought they could ride roughshod over everyone else. Well it’s the Clubs and the fans that have the power and once again we’ve said a resounding No! If Maxwell has a shred of decency he’ll be resigning tomorrow. Won’t hold my breath on that one.
  19. Shamrock Rovers Coatbridge, what an absolute load of shite. I was just thinking to myself the other day, what West Scotland lacks is a team with Irish roots they can get behind. If this idea is genuine he’s been taking far too many disco-biscuits there’s already Celtic, Hibs and loosely Dundee Utd covering Scots with Irish roots. Where the hell would a support for Shamrock Rovers Coatbridge be coming from. Certainly not Coatbridge as it’s absolutely rammed full of Celtic fans and the few Albion Rovers fans would either chuck it or start a phoenix club.
  20. I don’t actually think Hearts getting involved was a bad thing as it stopped the SFA using the line of “its only two teams” to the Non League clubs. Once Hearts threw their hat in the ring it meant any club with the finances could then look at putting a B Team in the pyramid. You can spin Celtic and Rangers B teams bringing a crowd as they’ve fans in every town to help small clubs but what the hell would say Queens Park bring if they had a B team. I also can see the more B teams in a division the worse it would become while clubs might begrudgingly put up with one or two, had Hearts been in the initial LL proposal more clubs might have said no.
  21. It Inspired the Falkirk thread too if you read their first post.
  22. No mad journey to the Highland’s Plastic Whistle haves Hibs’d it. Glasgow it is then.
  23. Be nice if we can get our business done early this season, last year was a bit of a scramble by the League Cup games. Obviously you need to wait if we’re using the loan market.
  24. Welcome one and all to the Championship. Pars - We get the derby back after last years New Years pairing with Accies. let’s be honest it’s a step up from Cove in terms of support and stadium and the Bridies are no bad. Airdrie - Alright who let this mob back Up here! Accies or Airdrie made zero difference to me, both central belt teams and easy to get to. Dundee Utd - lose Dundee get Dundee Utd keeps a decent gate and an away day to Dundee. Ross County (assuming Partick don’t Hibs it) - Not great for most barring ICT but I’ve never been to Dingwall so get to tick that off the list. (If it’s Partick away day to Glasgow is alway decent).
