The New Raith Rovers Thread
San Starko Rover replied to Hank Scorpio's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Surprised at Dundee’s interest in Murray especially if they have to pay a fee, quite like Murray so far but he’s hardly the stand out manager of the division that a Premier Division club normally are desperate to bring in. He was solid enough at Airdrie improving them and just missing out on promotion but pretty unproven at Championship level. I think many would say 7th for Raith while not a disaster is underwhelming, yes we had a cutback budget and quite bad luck with injuries and while I’m happy to give Murray another season as I think he showed some potential I’m amazed he’s even on Dundee’s Radar as the man to get in. -
Hamilton Academical thread

Quite right, getting rid of that type of club and replacing them with (checks notes) Airdrie fans. Honestly can’t say I’d consider Accies fans to be any worse than most clubs. Don’t worry Accies fans if you get stuck down there Falkirk will keep you company as they seem to have taken up permanent residence in League One. -

That home support is utterly abysmal for a make or break game. -
Partick v Ayr/Ayr v Partick - Semi Final

Never over until the final whistle but I’d be surprised if Ayr can overturn this result. Thistle are decent going forward and will surely score one. -

With a name like that it’ll surely shatter our attendance record. -
Pretty much what I expected, finished 7th, at the start I thought we’d be in the 5-8th spots. Didn’t expect too much after changing manager and the financial fallout from the DGW saga. My only expectation was stay clear of the relegation scrap and we did that. Bonus was a couple of decent cup runs, shame about the Diddy final but meh it’s the Diddy Cup and nothing more than a day out.

Pretty much agree with you here. No fans call grounds by their sponsorship name its only the official channels that use it. Alloa is still Recreation Park, Airdrie is still New Broomfield etc, the only one I can think of that no one uses the old name is Livingston and that’s only caught on because of the Spaghettihad joke, the fact it had little history helps too as Almondvale was only built in the 90s for a newly named team. -

Right now that’s over can your board focus on sorting your stadium out. We’re all sick of these trips to Stenhousemuir and want a wee trip to Glasgow next season. -

I like Lang so if he’s away best of luck to him, can be a decent defender but definitely has flaws to his game. I’d echo what one of the Pars fans said on here (forget who) that his weakness is he needs to realise he doesn’t have to win every ball, he often charges in trying to win a ball that’s 70/30 (to the attacker) when he should let the attacker win that ball and drop back. This inevitably leads to a free kick or him being beaten. There’s definitely a decent player in there but needs to work on his decision making if he’s going to play at a higher level. -

I’d say the negativity towards McGlynn is more to do with his signing of a certain striker than joining Falkirk, plenty weren’t bothered when he left which is a shame as you point out he did well for us in general but sadly he left a permanent stain on his legacy with a moment of stupidity. -
Accies definitely still got a chance with home advantage next game, Falkirk will need a collapse only Airdrie can manage to come back from that, first goal in that game will be massive. Airdrie score and it’s over, Falkirk will need to score early to try and rattle them but I can’t see it, maybe if it’d finished 5-2 but the extra goal surely killed their faint hope.

If they blow a 5 goal head start they should just give the league place back to the Bankies and give up football forever. -
