  1. Rangers fans desperately wanting to believe that, the rest of us wanting it to be the other way round. The truth is that none of us know who is paying what.
  2. But his role at Raith Rovers will be no different than his role at Clyde. They are both under the auspices of the SFA.
  3. I’m a tad concerned that we will panic and offer Griffiths a contract.
  4. Yep, only on the pitch for a few minutes, but far and away Rangers man of the match.
  5. Not sure what you’re trying to prove here, but not a player that I’m proud of being having been at my club.
  6. He lost the civil case in January 2017 and I think he signed for Clyde a couple of months later.
  7. I wasn’t happy that he was playing for us, but at the time he had been found guilty of nothing. I don’t think that there was any strong feeling against him due to that.
  8. Ian Crocker will surely be ill on “Derby Day” for once. Not today unfortunately.
  9. I support what Val McDermid and everyone else with Raith Rovers in their hearts are doing, and no way should Goodwillie be playing football in Scotland. But what difference does the profile of the club have to do with who he plays for, and the difference in profile between Raith Rovers and Clyde is fairly minimal anyway so not much of an argument. My point is that people who have no connection with Raith Rovers are “outraged”. Why? Why were they not outraged last week? Over 7500 people turned out at Broadwood in 2020 to watch Goodwillie play against Celtic in the Scottish Cup.
  10. As I’ve said previously, I completely understand the outrage felt by people at Starks Park and people with Raith Rovers in their hearts. But I am really struggling to understand why Aileen Campbell says that this move could have devastating consequences for Women’s football in Scotland. Why is it worse for Goodwillie to be playing for Raith Rovers than playing for Clyde? They are both SPFL clubs, so what is the difference? Likewise with Sturgeon’s comments. I just don’t get it.
  11. Vicente wasn’t in the match as much as I would have liked, but when he was involved he looked more than decent and didn’t put a foot wrong.
  12. I can totally understand and fully support the feelings of anyone connected to Raith Rovers with the signing of Goodwillie, and no idea why anyone would think it would be a great idea to take him to Starks Park. But Goodwillie has been plying his trade in Scottish football since he was found to have raped his victim, so why the outrage from everyone else outside Raith Rovers now. From the coverage you would think that Goodwillie has come back to Scottish football from nowhere. Where was this indignation during the last five years while he played for Clyde? Where was the boycott of Goodwillie’s club when over 7500 people attended Broadwood in 2020 for the Scottish Cup tie with Celtic. The only thing that has actually changed in the last two days is the Scottish club that Goodwillie gets paid by. So where was this proposed boycott of Clyde by opposition supporters five years ago, four years ago, three years ago, two years ago, last year, last month, last week? Somebody needs to tell Sturgeon that Goodwillie has been employed by a Scottish football club since 2017, and why does it matter to her that it’s now a different Scottish club employing him. Rover fans have every right to be outraged and take whatever action they feel needs to be taken, but as for the rest of Scottish football, where have we been since 2017?
  13. BucksburnDandy is your typical glass half empty Dons supporter. I could have understood that post last week describing the St Mirren match, which was genuinely awful and shambolic. Last night I thought that we did get the ball forward a lot quicker and there was very little of just knocking the ball about the back four, which happened loads of times last week. Of course we weren’t brilliant last night but the energy was back that was missing last week. We are always a better team with Jonny Hayes in the side and he was getting up and down the park all night. I thought Ferguson was good last night, looking to get on the ball, looking for shooting opportunities and getting stuck into the County midfield. One thing I do agree with him on is Calvin Ramsay. He is excellent going forward but worries me defensively. He cost us the goal last week with his lack of urgency to close down the scorer, and again last night he was at the heart of their goal. Although he did semi-block the cross, it was a half hearted challenge and the ball broke to the centre of the pitch and the guy got his shot away, although that should also have been blocked. Somebody needs to take Ramsay aside and explain that he needs to use his pace in defence as well as going forward.
  14. Obviously he’s a real team player. So long as the team win he doesn’t worry about his own performance. Oh wait...
