Finally finished off Peter Davison. Somewhat sadly, his last 2 stories were really, really good. Having suffered through the Tegan/Adric series, it really went out on a high. Peri joining the Tardis...reminds me a bit of when Leela came in. They've gone for the teenage boy audience here. Finally, the Caves of Androzani - excellent. Knew it would be good as soon as I saw it was written by Robert Holmes. Very rich story, with the baddie doing a bit of a Francis Urquhart talking to the camera.

The wife's car was booked in for its MOT today. Took the car down and the garage is closed for the day due to a funeral. I'll phone tomorrow to rearrange. So, quick question - if the garage cannot take the wife's car this week, is there another garage in the Falkirk area anyone would recommend?

Just back from a retirement lunch. Decent guy leaving, pretty good all round.

I'm with OVO energy. tried to submit my meter readings online - the website is being upgraded so cannot do that until the end of the year. Installed the app. Opened it, and it says this version of the app is no longer in use. Instant chat messaging is unavailable. Emailing is unavailable. Phoned them, on hold for 12 minutes and got cut off.

I looked into heat pumps a while back. The thing that got me was that, in temperatures below zero, they become less effective. So, in a cold snap you might end up without heating or hot water.

Had a meeting with the Director of Institute yesterday. Amongst other things she was talking about the Prof. As well as his teaching he was hired to develop and deliver a new educational platform for us. He hasn't done it. But a few months ago the uni hired another prof to do the same thing, and this guy has been getting the job done, winning contracts, and so on. Done more in 3 months than the prof has since he arrived. So, the Prof's defence for not doing any of this for the last 2 years is that he is overworked with teaching. Hence all his recent messages to me, various Directors, the head of School and the Principal complaining about his workload. I don't think he's getting much sympathy from his bosses.

Been very much enjoying this. One episode had two really strong contestants. Last night had one guy who was OK and four traffic cones. He's going to get slaughtered in the grand final.

We thought that my dad had all his music planned for his funeral. He had put pretty much everything else in place. In the end, mum had to choose. I think he would have liked it. His coffin left the funeral to "Hello Mary Lou", which was one he and my mum danced the quickstep to.
