All started with Watergate, a legitimate "gate" as the hotel was called that. Then the Clintons got into bother over White Water which the US press dubbed "White Watergate". Since then everything is a "gate".

The last 20 minutes were clearly setting up season 3. Working with the Borg to defeat some bigger enemy. Nice to see Wil Wheaton get a cameo. Still didn't get to the bottom of why Q was dying, which is a shame. I thought that would be a big part of it. Overall a nice end to the series but please, please no more Brent Spiner playing a Soong.

Our next door neighbour's dog was put outside, and spent ten minutes barking at the door to be let back in. 6am this morning.

Didn't they start off by saying "Vote SNP1, Alba 2 for a supermajority"? Here they are just in direct competition with everyone. And getting well pumped.

The Daily Heil is running that it has been "Underwhelming" for Starmer. But, after running "beergate" on page 1 every day for eight days, they finally got an investigation opened.

For England/the UK, I would say a Labour government is essential. Even a minority one, or coalition, or whatever. The Tories are so utterly abysmal that they need to go. And the only way England will go that way is with a Blair/Starmer type at the helm.

The big thing that I can (generally) see is the Tories are losing votes but no one party is picking them up. Labour, Green, Lib Dem and even SNP are benefitting from their drop. Probably not what Labour were hoping for.

When Scott was a wee lad he loved the prequels, and is enjoying (I think) going through these again. When he was 4 or 5 the school had a fun day, with face painting, balloons and so on. He went to get his face painted. We gave him a quid and he handed it over and sat down. "What do you want to look like?" one of the mums asked him. "Count Dooku," he answered. After a bit of explaining to the woman that our wee boy wanted to look like Christopher Lee, she ended up just covering his face with grey face paint and gave him white eyebrows.
