  1. Would get rid of McKay, Lawal, Allan.

Upgrade on Bisland too if at all possible.

Crucially a new striker who can play the Maciver role. One single injury there and our team may turn to muck.

Other than that it looks difficult to find an upgrade on what we have for the money we have. As shown by real quality like Ross being kept out of the team. It’s such an effective, settled 11 atm.

We signed a few too many attackers last Jan and meant we didn’t ever really find our best line up. (Our best run of form came when we started Gary Oliver in the Maciver role for example).

I've been at Hamilton and it shakes like mad up there. Especially if you have a standing commentary team. I tend to sit and try to keep still. Don't imagine it's helped by the strong winds. You're spoiled by the concrete platform to film from at TFS - you can mitigate the movement to an extent.

The other issue is just the focus. Yes the resolution is 1080p but because it's slightly out of focus with the rain it's just a blur. 1080p50 is also not massively great at movement. It's just ok these days.. Check out Stranraer's highlights for some incredibly sexy 4k footage. You can see the individual frames are like crystal. Streaming at 4k won't happen any time soon and to edit 4k video quickly you need to spend more money on your editing rig or just accept it'll take longer so I'll not be doing it for a bit.

Missing goals happens but you have got an individual operator though so you lose points for that. I've got an excuse of a stream, replays, live chat and commentary to multi-task.

£50 a match to do our camera operation and technical stuff? Name your price!

Seems like a worthwhile investment for a club of our numbers. Large amount of people who won’t have been able to make the game today not being able to watch a goal of the season contender is basically just unacceptable tbh.

This is the problem with McGlynn. If you know exactly how you’ll set up today, so will Rankin, and you know fine well there will be no ‘plan B’.

Exactly, all the other managers know exactly how we play. They’ve all been able to set up their team perfectly to foil our well known set up.

Resulting in 20 (twenty) games unbeaten.

  4. Quite rightly being picked up as it’s not exclusively a Hamilton problem.

I was off to Killie v Hearts when our Cove game was postponed with some Hearts supporting friends and I had to sit on my own in the killie end as any away end tickets had to be physically picked up at Tynecastle by 11am. The stand was about a third full!

Similar story across lots of the top tier and an attitude that needs changing. The bigot brothers are of course the worst.

I don't want to lose this game, obviously, but talk of it being a disaster if we do is a bit wide of the mark. A loss on Saturday isn't a disaster for either side as A - we've both shown we can drop points against other teams and B - there would still be 2 games to play against each other.

Psychologically the victor will still be within 1 game's reach of the other. Yes Falkirk have a game in hand, but it's not a gimme, and, as it won't be played for about 3 months anyway, will be almost (potentially more so) as big a game as this one anyway.

The real difference in outcome if we win will be to show the rest of the league Falkirk are beatable.

Game v cove scheduled for 9th January.

    This is getting tiresome.

Fans don't just buy tickets to get in though do they? They buy food, drink, 50/50 tickets, programmes, parking etc. £10,000 would get a decent loan player in for the final 5 months of the season. If you're telling me Hamilton, as a Scottish league 1 club, are so well off they can afford to attract less away fans than they otherwise could then I think we just need to agree to differ. I know Falkirk can't afford to turn their nose up at extra fan attendance.

If Hamilton can turn their nose up at 10k it’s astounding we’re keeping up with them. It’s the sort of bonus money our board doesn’t sanction for (as no decent away support ever turns up at TFS) and would definitely give us a new loan body come the end of January. Again, hope we ride these diddies on Saturday.

Has any other club expected you to sell out the allocation?

Our etickets are sold via fanbase - a platform you don't use.

Edinburgh City use fan base and we were able to buy on that despite taking a large away support. So, in terms of organisation and diddyness, Hamilton are now below Edinburgh City FC. A pretty bad place to be.

  8. Wasn’t there today so only seen the highlights. Expecting to see some ridiculous refereeing but not seen it. Probably not a penalty although a yellow for diving very harsh.

Dominated the game but a lack of cutting edge led to a difficult game again. Feels pretty poor we’ve let Edinburgh and Kelty come to our home ground and make games of it when the mentality is dominate and win the game comfortably.

Still, in the end another very good day and pretty much any other league season in the last decade we’d be 10 points clear but somehow we find ourselves 2nd. Think we have it in us to put Accies to the sword next week if mcglynn abandons his big game bottle mentality

    OK cheers.

Never understand why anyone wants to build an L shaped stand around a corner - it's got to be the worst place from which to view a game. Unless of course other constraints rule out more normal alternatives I suppose.

It’s rugby, they probably don’t know what game they’re watching, just waiting for full time to drink each other’s sick

Certainly puts the fear of God into you, doesn't it? Whilst this season isn't technically a gamble, since the money has more or less been accounted for (including losses), the thought of next season still in L1 sends shivers down the proverbial spine and I dread to think what players we'd be left with. Gotta get out of this league. It has to be this season, it just has to be. Five bloody years man. I'm not currently signed up to the FSS but I probably will in the new year. Just curious - anybody on here that's not currently signed up, and not intending to? I know Falkirk Daft got a measured response that was against the FSS. I just personally don't see an alternative when it's fan ownership? No sugar daddies so the fans have to foot the bill.

It was an attempt at a measured response but I thought it was complete and utter bollocks. Glad Falkirk Daft aired it though.
