We were a very hardworking but hardly what you could call a flair team when Eadie joined. We were a low scoring side who didn't create enough, hence why I think he struggled. He scored goals for fun for seasons after he left us. I'm sure just after we sold him to Clydebank he scored twice on his debut to knock holders St Mirren out the cup at Love Street.

I actually half expected Burrell to rock up at Dunfermline, McPake seemed to rate him, he could prove a useful addition. I'm not convinced we have enough up front and I'd probably have kept him over Gary Oliver if push came to shove.

Yeah I think having input into the design does make a difference otherwise you end up with a generic template like some of the kits puma gave us. The puma design with the kelpies etc on the sleeves was a nice kit aswell but obviously the club had input on that one too.

That's a cracking effort from O'Neill's very retro in keeping with the old Hummel top. Which I thought was one of the best strips we ever had and/or the players wearing it. I was a bit wary after seeing the Ayr kit. Could be badly let down by a honking away kit but if it's similar to to home then fair do's.

I don't see a monster in midfield the type that's going to fire into challenges and dominate. As much as Spencer is a welcome addition I'd like to see someone like the Hamilton midfielder Scott Martin in there. My fear is Spencer won't be the box to box midfielder that McGlynn describes and Raith fans say he isn't, you get a feeling he's going to sit in front of the back four and be a younger version of McGinn. Tumilty or Hodson at right back is an upgrade on Williamson no doubt at all.

That could bite us if that's the case. It's an area of the park we were found wanting in last season too many missed chances.

Oliver meh, MacIver I don't see scoring many his stats suggest that, Agyeman could be a bit unpredictable I think, so your relying on Allan banging them in. He got ten goals at Clyde before he signed and hardly scored or started since he joined. Id like another centre forward in and better than we have already

Scores worldies but are few and far between. Has the ability but more often than not just doesn't do enough. Game passes him by. He's also had enough clubs by now that if he was going to kick on it'd have happened already. I'd like to say he's a decent signing for you but he isn't.

Danny Mullen would be a cracking signing for us, type of player we should be targeting if we have serious ambitions about getting out of this league.

I'd be looking to sign someone a bit quicker than Watson if that's the case especially if your partner is going to be McKay or Donaldson.

Not sure but he's had 18th months of it and injured. I don't see him getting kept I think his wage will go elsewhere, if McGlynn must keep him I'd be thinking pay as you play.

I think we'll struggle to shift anyone tbh. Unless someone fancies giving us a few quid for Morrison. Fwiw I don't think Watson gets kept , not that he's worse than Donaldson, McKay or Mackie.

Hogarth has family up here if he wants to be closer to home then fair enough I just hope McGlynn isn't being over generous with wages. There's an abundance of keepers up here that will be looking for a club and I dare say just as good as him if not better. Just because he's came from Nottingham Forest means sod all. We have had young players from clubs down south before and some were utter shite.

Would MacDonald be happy as player coach though? Particularly if he wants to play every week. I suppose we will find out shortly.

That's what I'm thinking, Hogarth won't want to sit on the bench and neither will MacDonald. Which is why I'm leaning to it being one or the other. Given the circumstances and if we are only bringing in six or seven signings, i don't see the point in giving two goalkeepers a wage when one could be better spent in another area of the team. However there is the McGlynn factor so he probably has some theory on why it is essential to have both.

Benedictus you kinda knew what you were getting with him which is why we were in for him aswell. He wasn't a punt but I get your point not exactly a box office signing either. He was certainly more solid than what we had at centre half and still have.

True but you want a decent one. Not someone who flings them in the net or can't command his area. FWIW I thought Hogarth started off well enough but got gradually poorer before he went back to Forest, it could be ofcourse his confidence was shot with the defence not exactly helping him. Better keeper than Kinnear who looked very ropey at times but I'm not sure he was that much better if any than PJ on his game.

I hope not but if it is that'll be four signings in and not one apart from maybe Agyeman has brought any degree of excitement.

We gave Brad McKay a three year deal to join from Inverness. Ultimately he's been shite for the most part but anything is possible with us.

He's probably going to have to offer two year deals or at least 1 year deals with a year option just to try and get the players he wants to drop into league 1. With that your hoping to attract a better calibre of player than what we have. There's been no mention of the length of contract Agyeman is on unless I missed it, and MacIver wanted full time football again. I don't imagine he will be on a lot of money. But I wouldn't have gave Nesbitt any contract never mind another two years. I don't think McGlynn is as wild as the Holt/Sheerin combo in dishing out long term deals like confetti, but ultimately if he makes a pigs ear of recruitment this season he's gone.

They might get some more cash in the bank now that Nisbet has signed for Millwall for a "significant seven figure fee" if they had any sell on clauses.
