That's why folk hates Hearts fans in this league. You have no right to hammer anyone. Have a nice night emoji1787.pngemoji1787.pngemoji1787.png

If you want to get outraged cause I'm saying a team with a load of highly paid international players should be more than good enough to win comfortably in every game in this league, fair play.

Raith fully deserved their win, because they played better than us for most of the game.

We've generally ranged from poor to adequate this season but that first hour was genuinely horrific.  Quite clear the players thought they just had to turn up to win today.

Neilson hasn't mentioned a new centre-back yet in this window, which is bizarre because our defence is as bad as I can ever remember. Most people have (reasonably) questioned why Berra seems undroppable but Popescu showed exactly why that is today.

I've no idea what Halliday is supposed to offer either. Irving was pretty much doing the work of two players in midfield today.

Raith were very impressive. I don't think the second goal should have been a penalty but Kennedy absolutely did Smith and was generally superb all afternoon. MacDonald pretty much transformed into Buffon for the last 20 minutes. It'd hardly be a surprise if they turned us over on Tuesday based on that display.

I'll be honest, I thought Popescu was much better than Berra even with the mistake for the second goal.  He actually won some headers and passed the ball with some purpose

That's also twice this season Kai Kennedy has run Michael Smith ragged

20 points would seem like quite a lot for what is only a 27 game season.

You've also probably been bookmarked by some weirdo in Fife or Renfrewshire who will then stalk you for years reminding you of your mistake when it turns out to be 12 points

A risk I'm prepared to take.  I think we'll get about 70 points, so maybe only 15.

  4. I'd give us about 7.5.  7 wins out of 8 won't get Robbie much credit given our relative strength but it's decent.

We can veer from looking like we'll really struggle to blowing teams away, sometimes within the space of 20 minutes like Saturday.  If we're anywhere near our A game then we'll win but we are slack enough, often enough, to give teams a decent shot at beating us.

I expect we'll win the league by about 20 points, largely because no-one else looks significantly above the pack and we'll just keep winning the vast majority of games.  The target is to take our home threat into away games

  5. I suppose we're a dilemma for teams a bit like Celtic have been in the league above us.  Our defence is obviously miles worse than the rest of the team, but opening up to have a go carries the risk of getting a bit of a skelping, so teams try to keep it tight and nick a goal on the break.  Once games open up our forward options are miles too good for this level

Fun though Berra's attacking was, him and Halkett is a defensive shambles.

I suppose history will look back at that final in a strange kind of way - folk will remember Ginnelly's equaliser despite him being mostly pish (but class according to Billy Dodds! ) and Hazard's two penalty saves despite him looking like a nervous wreck for 120 minutes.

I thought Ginnelly was good tbh.  Couple of chances he should have done better with but he caused them loads of problems and put in a great ball for the first equaliser as well as scoring.

We were certainly much more of a threat with him on

Wasn't a fan of our starting line up when I first saw it, but White did ok - I thought Walker would go missing, and I was right about that - no way should he have started.

Did well to come back after being totally out of it at half time, and we had chances to score, but so did celtic.

Should have won it, but two poor penalties fucked us.

Walker in a 3 man midfield is crazy.  The formations we've played last 2 games get the best out of him, but he was no good today

None of them were sitters, but he messed each one up.

The best of the lot, you don't mention at all and it came when two defenders clashed, allowing the ball to dribble through.  He failed to push it sufficiently in front of himself to allow for a decent shot.

The fact is that he made one lousy decision to shoot when he shouldn't have, and missed two other good chances quite badly.

He had opportunities to win his side the cup, but fluffed them. Not the first or last to do so, but frustrating nonetheless.

The only one I really think he did badly at was the blaze into the crowd.  The first he had to come back to get the ball so was always struggling to take it back towards goal at pace.

The cutback I thought he should have taken a touch rather than shot but it wasn't an easy chance

In the Nations League we failed to score in two of our games and only scored five in total, not even averaging a goal a game.

But aye, we're now somehow going to win the World Cup Qualifying group.

Again, it would be great if we did and they should absolutely try to do it, but I simply don't think we're good enough to do it.

There's a gap between saying a group is winnable and saying we'll win it.

I think the argument is about the quality of the league rather than the size.

You might pay £100 to go see a top band play but you wouldn't pay the same to see a cover band play the same songs in your local pub.

We're The Beatles returning to play a secret gig at The Cavern Club mate.

Tbf, I agree the price is too high but we're not going to be bringing it down and the same points every match thread are getting old already

  11. Tbh I'd have liked us to givevnote game time to folk who will be playing next week, rather than give Frear and White so much time.

But probably our best all round performance of the season.  Irving will have a field day with that much time to pick passes and it was good to see Boyce staying much further up the park rather than him and Naismith getting in each other's way.

Ginelly looked great coming on, to the extent it would be tempting to have him in that role next week, as he might be more effective against tiring legs.
