  1. Balaka up Perth Road is an old school indian restaurant. I first visited in the early '80's and still go whenever possible. Was as good as ever last time we were in Dundee, and only 2/3 of the price of the Jahangir, where we also ate. Also has the advantage of being practically next door to Mennies (the Speedwell Tavern)
  2. On 3 - Please explain why Scotland will have to enact lots of new legislation when it leaves the UK yet the UK only needs one Great Reform Act to retain the entirety of EU law in 'British Law' when it leaves the EU Both cases involve leaving, not joining. On 5 - surely you have a couple of examples you can give off the top of your head?
  3. 1) I've already said that we are a current member and comply with current EU law. I didn't ask you to repeat that point. 2) I didn't ask you about this either. Let's agree to disagree on the effect of independence on our EU membership 3) This is your reply to the actual question I asked? I think you've missed out some words (or even complete paragraphs) as what you've written doesn't make sense! Please address the point I made regarding the UK Great Repeal Bill and why a similar arrangement would not apply to iScotland. 4) As you didn't make a coherent reply to point 3 above, I fail to follow your reasoning. 5) Can you provide examples of UK regulatory bodies which would 'have' to be used by an iScotland?
  4. Scotland already complies with EU law. We're still a member. Are you suggesting that all non-devolved UK legislation will cease to apply in Scotland on Independence day if we become independent before Brexit? Do you understand the principles behind the UK Government's proposed Great Repeal Bill? The UK Government consider it possible for Westminster to transpose the entirety of current EU law into 'Britiish' Law in one short Act and then amend any part of it at their leisure in the future. In contrast, you appear to believe that an independent Holyrood government would have to re-write every Act & Regulation on Independence Day? Please provide more detail.
  5. Aye, but we were talking about the Express, not that other comic BTW - some of my mates at Uni used to make some extra beer money by selling stories to the Sport. One of them fathered a cauliflower, if I recall correctly.
  6. Here's a link to the recent (2015) Express article supporting the WW2 bomber theory. Please provide a later link debunking this story http://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/583080/Plane-shaped-UFO-found-on-Moon-in-50-year-old-Soviet-lunar-mission-pictures
  7. So, in your opinion, Eilidh Whiteford should vote for Brexit because a speculative article in the Daily Express hasn't been debunked? Was the "World War II Bomber Found On The Moon" story ever debunked? Do you think it is valid too?
  8. Can you clarify, McSpreader - are these actual voting figures or an estimate of the vote in Banff & Buchan based upon desktop reaearch at the University of East Anglia and originally reported by the Daily Express? As far as I recall, the referendum result was announced by local authority area. Aberdeenshire voted remain.
  9. In summer '95, my mother had a brain aneurysm. Firstly, she was in Dundee Royal Infimary. At that time, my workplace was in Strathmore Avenue, so not very far away. DRI nursing staff were upfront - they said that the food was brought in from elsewhere (Ninewells?) and that it wouldn't feed a churchmouse. Was advised that I would be better to bring something in every evening and that we could either eat together in the ward or outside in the gardens. As a result, I either brought something to work & reheated it in the microwave before heading to DRI at 5pm or got an Indian/Chinese carryout for us to to share. I didn't object to this, but it got much harder to provide one decent meal a day for her when she was transferred to Astley Ainslie in Edinburgh. As a result, she regularly 'escaped' and headed to the Canny Man's for beer/fags/food. They would serve her and phone the hospital to come and pick her up! Not sure what this proves, apart from the facts that 1) The NHS staff are honest about the minor failings of the system, 2) They will turn a blind eye when circumstances apply & 3) The staff at the Canny Man are lovely people
  10. If you input sound energy into a microphone, it converts it into electrical energy. This also works backwards i.e. if you input electrical energy, it comes out as sound. This means you can use any microphone as a speaker & vice versa. Your phone would appear to use the phone microphone as the video speaker
  11. On Jura, they would just burn it in a shed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6q4n5TQnpA
  12. Hi H_B I've got a source for hoverboards that might comply. Can I offer you one to test?
  13. Under the current EU legislation, the importer into the EU is responsible for the safety of the goods, not the manufacturer (when the manufacturer is outside the EU) Can you explain how this will work in the new isolationist UK?
  14. Erm, the standard I refered to is currently referenced within the applicable legislation in every single country in the EU. I deliberately picked it because it is originally based upon a British Standard (the clue is in the BS:EN designation) If the rUK is outside the EU and Scotland inside the EU, then the hard border (for toys) will apply to rUK exports to the whole of the EU (including Scotland). Why won't this be a problem for the rUK exporter?
  15. Uh, won't this point also apply to any UK company that wishes to export goods to the EU after Brexit? For example, if I was a toy manufacturer, my toys would have to comply with the current EU Toy Safety requirements across the UK and the rest of the EU. After Brexit, I'll have to comply with the new (watered down?) UK specific version of BS:EN 71 in the UK, but still comply with EU requirements elsewhere in the EU.. Why won't this "accommodation and extra admisistrative burden" be a problem in our new isolationist UK?
  16. I've seen the Lichties compete with the Old Firm first teams on various occasions over the last 45+ years. Usually we've lost, but the occasional draws & wins are amongst my favourite memories. Why would I want to watch us beat their under 20's?
  17. Gosh. How impressive. You do know that tort is an English Law concept that has no application in Scotland? Our equivalent legal provision is known as delict.
  18. I use this lot to make 3 x A3 calendars with 13 A4 sized pictures (cover plus 12 months). As you select the photo's, it tells you if they are good enough quality. I've used them for the last 5 years or so and have always been pleased with the quality I usually take the 3 for price of 2 option, so costs £45 (incl P&P) for 3 calendars. Only problem is that they send them out by special delivery, so someone needs to be in to sign for them - I get mine sent to the office
  19. Hey, remember their huge latent support that fondly recall their 9 seasons in the top league in the 1920's/30's. The new glory days are just around the corner...
  20. Apart from the Arbroath East & Lunan council election last week you mean? Hamilton by-election in 1978 because it would have clashed with the World Cup opening ceremony?
  21. Well, that's my resignation from the SNP assured. Thanks for that incisive insight Ruthie.
  22. Monaghan & Wilson paid some overtime to employees who had worked some extra hours. These employees were family members, so SNP BAAADDDD Gray and Kerevan also employ family members, so SNP BAAADDDD Arkless sells lightbulbs. An enquiry was once made to the Citizens Advice hotline about whether a refund was due for a faulty bulb, so SNP BAAADDDD Blackford part-owns some cottages with his wife. She lets them out as holiday homes so SNP BAAADDDD O'Hara set up a TV company in 2009. It never traded and is currently dormant. He didn't initiallyb list it on the Register of Member's Interests, but the Westminster Authorities were happy with his explanation and took no action against him. Still, SNP BAAADDDD Seriously, is that the best trolling you can come up with, Hehaw?
  23. Really? I thought that Kez & Ruthie's current line was that we export 4 times as much to the UK as we do to the rest of the EU and that this would be at threat if we chose 'independendence'. It's good that you can open our eyes to these Unionist lies.
  24. Don't bother engaging with wee Donny. He's an attention-seeking troll.
