  1. Yeah, please don't get me wrong, I think Baccus is a very good player and will do well if he goes to Aberdeen. He just doesn't have that wee extra something that clubs pay that bit more for, he's not massively creative, he won't chip in with 7-10 goals a season. But he'll do a good job anyway.
  2. For a team in the same league maybe £3-400k. I think Baccus is a good player, but he's a fairly common player, a decent box to box engine, reasonable in possession and works hard but he doesn't score lots of goals, or make a lot of assists. He looks good when you watch him play but I'm sure @RandomGuy. "ran the numbers" recently and stats wise he's nothing spectacular. I think we wouldn't lose much with Gogic and O'Hara as the 2 midfielders instead, in my opinion anyway. Still, the 48 hours for a replacement bit is an issue.
  3. Would be a good signing for Aberdeen and a decent move for Baccus who will get European football. They need players so if they are able to pay what we want and we get a decent sell on I think it's not the worst thing that could happen.
  4. I don't think those are the only reasons though. I think Nouble is a great player to watch, but his numbers are pretty shite for an attacking player, and all the clubs do their data analysis these days. £1m for a 27 year old forward with 9 goals and 6 assists or thereabouts in 60 games, I think a lot of teams will think they can do better.
  5. It's a bit boring though, same stuff everytime we play a team with a plastic pitch, over and over. I don't like them either, but does it have to be the main talking point every single time we play these teams?
  6. Did Hardie play a season in the prem for you? I've got this image of him absolute rag dolling Gary McKenzie and Jack Baird, so I'm now thinking it must have been a game in the first season up. Or a figment of my imagination....
  7. Sorry, I must be getting two games mixed up. There was a game you absolutely destroyed us knocking balls over the top to Hardie and the ball just stuck.
  8. I think one of the players we will really struggle without if he gets injured this season is Kiltie. Not sure who else we have that can play that kind of role he's playing right now where he's sort of covering the 11, 10 and 8 role depending on where the ball is. I think he's been excellent so far.
  9. Yeah, I think, up till now at least, Bolton was always considered a RB/RWB who could cover CB rather than the other way round, but will need to see Robbos plans. I do agree with your wider point though, and it's one I've made myself, I really like a proper Gallagher/Shaughnessy replacement for the middle of the back three.
  10. Yeah, though I'm pretty sure we went 1-0 up early on and everyone thought it was all going to plan till Hardie destroyed us! I know you'll not like this, but we genuinely couldn't get to grips with the pitch that day. It was massively sticky for whatever reason and we kept passing short, whereas Livi were just putting it in behind and where it was holding up and Hardie was destroying us with his pace.
  11. Yeah, guys like Farrell, Vunipola, Daly, May and even Itoje were good players, they just aren't now. I think the problem with the premiership is it produces lots of players, but the actual standard across the board is nowhere near as high as some think it is, so guys like Marcus Smith, or someone like Sam Simmons look like absolute superstars at that level but the step up is too much for them.
  12. Looking at some of the "England inquest" stuff today and a common theme seems to be they have good players mismanaged. I'm not so sure about that to be honest, I think they've got lots of pretty bang average players that are being mismanaged. I don't think many England players right now would get into the Scotland first XV and I don't think any would even get into a matchday squad for France or Ireland.
  13. I read on the other thread as well that Hibs manager isn't in full control of the signings and outgoings, etc in players. Don't know if that's true or not, but I can't see a guy like Robbo agreeing to work under that either. I suppose at the the end of the day he might if they agree to pay him enough!
  14. I could be wrong, but I don't think Robbo is "sexy" enough for Hibs. They'll want a guy with a cool name who talks about philosophies. I'm also not sure the tools are there right now for Robbo to turn it around quickly, he'd need to get to January and spend big.
  15. Samoa maybe showing the way here...
  16. Think Scotland got what they needed tonight, Georgia are a tough nut to crack, until you do, then they crumble a bit. We dominated the scrum, were decent at the line out and did enough at the breakdown, then scored some lovely tries.
  17. You are a bit tbf. Just chill out, Aberdeen should win tomorrow, and if they don't, it's just a game.
  18. Feel a bit sorry for that wee Motherwell guy there. Completely broken.
  19. It's one of my pet hates to be honest, and you are right, it basically never gets penalised.
  20. Nice little cheap shot on the try scorer there. Ignored of course.
  21. As much as it'll upset the usual people, games like this show that constantly criticising refs and highlighting their poor performances against you fucking works. Refs are scared to give decisions against SA because of the inevitable backlash.
  22. It's going to be tough to beat this lot.
