  1. Zander does stuff like that far too often. Game over.
  2. I wonder if this money could be used to bring in another CB? Fraser and Bolton are converted fullbacks, Taylor and Dunne are decent players but not massively solid, Gogic is a defensive mid and dwells on the ball a bit too much at CB for me. I think we could use a proper penalty box defender to replace Gal or Shaughnessy. I think we need that in the middle for a bit of balance. That's the bit that worries me this season.
  3. So was Alan Combe and a another guy in a Dundee tracksuit and a guy sitting next to me had a laptop and a Stenhousemuir jacket on. What could it all mean?
  4. I only watched bits of it after coming in from the football but I thought he looked pretty good? Set up a try, kicked reasonably well. I did see him drop the ball in our 22 but it was a c**t of a pass from Price.
  5. I think maybe the Forfar manager just ended up overthinking things yesterday. Usually lower league teams cause us serious problems by keeping a solid back 4/5 and in front of them another solid 4/5 with a striker running the channels up front. They get the ball forward quickly, let us have the ball in our own half.and frustrate us. Forfar didn't really do that, they sort of tried to be defensive but without the midfeild and tried to play out from the back as well, which caused them problems. I think you showed enough though in the other 3 games to suggest this was a bit of a one off and you can have a really good season.
  6. That was a bit unlucky, I saw what he saw which was O'Hara running into that space to take the ball. Unfortunately O'Hara stopped just as he threw it.
  7. Would agree with this, I thought that defence today were all a bit similar and flaky. It was like having two Fullbacks and a defensive midfielder all together. There wasn't a natural, dominant, heading and tackling penalty box defender. Also, if we are going to play that formation today then we definitely do need another forward as the three up are going to have to run themselves into the ground every match.
  8. You don't want to be overly critical of the lower league side in these circumstances, but I genuinely have no idea what Forfar were attempting to do in that first half. Keeper was timewasting within the first minute, they had no midfeild of any description and seemed completely baffled by St Mirren switching play left to right, they never adapted to it at all. St Mirren in the first half to be fair played pretty well. Strain was excellent, Taylor, Mandron and Baccus also performing very well. Second half was a training exercise, but should still have had at least another couple.
  9. Yeah, a Shrewsbury fan I spoke to gave a very glowing report as well. The big caveat of course is that he's spent a large part of the last two seasons injured. I think from that point of view one year is enough. If he has a great injury free season and immediately leaves back to England, then at least we got something out him. If it doesn't work out we haven't lost too much.
  10. I was once on a jury where one woman's reason for finding the guy guilty was "no smoke without fire".
  11. Finished series 2 last night and absolutely loved it. The Ritchie episode was one of my favourite things I've seen on TV in ages.
  12. Yeah, he's a bit of a donkey but he can be effective if used properly. He probably suits a team like St Mirren/St Johnstone/Livi more than he suits Hearts.
  13. I like Ikpeazu, as a big battering ram forward he could do a job if we use him properly.
  14. Whatever the reasons Milne had for keeping the 11-1 "OF veto" we may never know. What we do know is that keeping it made the subsequent meltdown from Aberdeen, Celtic and their pals in the media extra hilarious when St Mirren and Ross County used it to torpedo the 8/8/8 split idea.
  15. Maybe. Is it worse than voting for a proven liar, who has broken every promise he's mad and believes in power at any cost? Considering you fully accept that Starmer is a liar who cannot be trusted, why do you think voting for him is such a good thing?
  16. Really looking forward to some Motherwell/Aberdeen/Dundee supporting weirdo on here in a few weeks insisting we all thought we were signing Ben Doak when the transfer window closes.
  17. Don't really trust any of them right now tbh, but with Starmer he has proven beyond any doubt he's a liar so is proven untrustworthy so deserves no benefit of the doubt.
  18. But he's a proven liar who has changed policy numerous times based on who he's talking to and is currently backtracking on ULEZ as we speak. None if this can be taken at face value.
  19. I've not done that. I've simply stated a fact.
  20. What is productive about voting for a proven liar who can't be trusted? What is highly intellectual about that?
  21. Well Starmer is promising exactly the same, so your solution is just to vote for him anyway in the hope he's lying?
  22. Either way he's a proven liar who can't be trusted on anything he says.
