  1. Well then he'll never deserve a place in this team. The world has moved on a bit from wingers who stand out wide doing nothing untill you have the ball.
  2. I like Henderson but I think some of the onus also needs to be on him getting himself into the team, rather than just saying the system doesn't suit him. Half the wingbacks in the league are converted wingers these days. Both Strain and Small are pretty attacking and pushed up, and also if Henderson is playing on the right he'll have Fraser behind him and Baccus inside so there will be plenty of licence to get forward at every opportunity. If he can get himself fit enough to run the line, and enough about him defensively (where, lets be honest, none of Strain, Tanser or Small excel at) then I think he can be a really good player as a right wing back.
  3. St Johnstone just haven't hit survival mode yet, whilst the other three teams have. Always a scary time, especially going into the split where all of a sudden every game becomes a six pointer. Next weekend is big for the Saintees, they have what looks like the most winnable game on current form of the three.
  4. What is going on with that pitch? Looks an absolute mess. I don't remember there being issues with the pitch in Perth before?
  5. Really enjoyed that yesterday, especially as I don't get to many away games these days, so nothing better than a big day out and a win! As usual when going through to either of the Edinburgh clubs, it was good fun in the pubs around Haymarket. The hearts fans we spoke to were all really sound but I was surprised at the time by how despondent they were and how much they really didn't fancy it. At the time I thought it was just a bit of underdogging, but obviously not. The game was good, St Mirren did what we do against these kind of teams, we let them have the ball, soak up the pressure, bully them in midfeild and up front and hit them on the break. No surprises that we look massively back on it now that we have about as close to a full strength squad as you are going to get at this stage of the season.
  6. That was some truly horrendous game management from Glasgow.
  7. Yeah, agreed, all the stuff about train stations is mostly just the folk who don't seem realise there are about 3 others in easy walk from the stadium. The biggest problem I see at Hampden each time is actually getting people through the turnstiles. It takes fucking ages and the last couple of games I've been to the stadium hasn't even been close to full at kick off, with people still piling in with 20 mins gone.
  8. Edinburgh's release list shows there was some amount of shite there taking up space.
  9. If St Mirren actually have a third choice keeper then I don't know who he is. I expect if one of our keepers get injured we are trying to find Bobby Zamal again to see if he fancies another emergency loan.
  10. Definitely been a few tighter ones that St Mirren have been involved in where the points total to stay out the playoff was quite high. I know in 08/09 ICT were relegated with 37 points on goal difference over St Mirren and saints also finished second bottom in 12/13 on 41 points. No playoff those years luckily for us!
  11. Webb again. He's had a shocker.
  12. Somebody needs to tell Webb he doesn't have to kick absolutely fucking everything.
  13. I was just coming on to say the same thing, there has obviously been a note gone out to get the English teams through today.
  14. Man, it's been a long time since I wanted a team I don't care about to win as much as I want Montpellier to win here.
  15. It's been some effort all in from Montpellier as they haven't had any rub of the green with the ref either, particularly the TMO who has forensically examined everything they have done. I'm normally one for a red card for head contact, but the Mercer one is really, really soft. I think the Montpellier coach should have let them go for it, I can't see them winning extra time, they are barely walking.
  16. I think the handball penalties were pretty clear tbh. The first one was looked pretty blatant at the time and Beaton should have really given it straight away.
  17. Its funny how folk see it, because I actually thought Livi spent too much time fannying around with the ball on the deck and looked far more dangerous when they just hammered it up the middle as quickly as they could, because whilst I thought the saints back three did about as well as could be expected against the two big Livi strikers, they were mostly coming off second best. To be honest, it was never a 3-0 game. Stupid individual errors killed Livi in the first half and you are never coming back from that against a team like the current St Mirren team.
  18. I saw the highlights from yesterday and there isn't much you can do when the keeper keeps chucking them in like that. I always think keeper is the one position you can't get away with having a really bad one. You don't need a world-beater, but you do need someone competent.
  19. It's very difficult for us to ignore this thread. We've been conditioned to click and participate.
  20. Glasgow's defence has actually been really bad.
  21. Yeah, I like him a lot, and it already feels like he has improved considerably since his debut. Easy to forget he's only 18! I think we are doing him good. His delivery today was so much better.
  22. Torn on that red as it definitely was one, but I like Aki.
  23. That was pretty good. I don't think it was a 3-0 game, Livi had their moments. You can see why Nouble plays for them and not English Championship or somewhere higher up because he's a classy player everywhere except in the box. Missed two fantastic chances today. Gogic, Small, O'Hara, Dunne and Shaughnessy all brilliant for us.
