  1. So it seems that Dave McGurn was dropped "due to loss of form", but we're not going to get any more details until Thursday's FFP.
  2. I can't help feeling the Rovers should really be putting someone in the front half of the box at corners. It's a fact that too many of our corners come in too low, and that's not necessarily a massive problem, but it's made critical by the first line of defenders being entirely unchallenged. If someone was at least there to challenge and put them off, we might get the odd extra one or two over and into the danger area.
  3. Indeed! I feel like I've been posting here for too long. Too many posters have come and gone...
  4. Aye, kgb1954 was involved in some sort of Father Ted "the money was just resting in my account" scandal, and resigned after being taunted for a while. The badger thread fell in a post-cull at some point, and doesn't come close in the hilarity stakes when the story is re-told. Basically, a bloke had a blocked drain outside his house, he investigated the cause of the drain, and hauled out a bloated, and very dead, badger. On noticing said badger, he dropped and subsequently volleyed the poor dead beast, which promptly burst.
  5. On the topic of the Jojo thread... Does anyone else even remember Lauren, or Declan, for that matter? And The Cat/Akritoi!
  6. If the Rovers were already out of the title chase, and we went to East End Park on a day when the Pars could win the league, I'd have to spend days thinking about whether or not to go. It'd be glorious to stop them (even if temporarily) but it'd be heartbreaking to actually witness them winning the league. The opposite though, is almost beyond dreaming about. It's petty as f**k, but how great would it be to win the league at the home of our greatest rivals?
  7. Right, so, Gary Wales hasn't actually signed up for the rest of the season yet, but the club are currently trying to drive down the number of pennies he's after Seems fair enough, hopefully he does sign on, just so I can keep on watching his highlights from the last time he was here. Although, it is interesting to note that Notts County seem to think Kevin Smith will be out the door there in January, if someone will take him. He hasn't played at all under Ince. Hypothetically, if they were both asking for exactly the same money, and there were no acquisition fees, who would you rather have, Wales or Smith? Also, good to see Wedderburn being sent out to Arbroath for the rest of the season. It's something I'd like to see more of, but I'm not entirely sure John McGlynn trusts other coaches to keep up his high standards.
  8. I hear that Mark Campbell is going to go round to Willie Gibson's house tomorrow morning, and when he opens the door in the morning to pick up the paper, Sparky is going to go crashing through him with both feet, crushing his shins, and his dreams. He'll still win the ball though. It's just protocol.
  9. Oh bloody hell, I need to drive back to Stirling from Fife soon, and then I'm working in Falkirk tonight. Could the snow not just f**k off so that I don't risk killing myself, or worse, cause damage to my car that I can ill afford to have repaired?
  10. It might be next week, it might be in months. I was in training within 7 days of phoning up, but there was a girl in my training group who'd originally applied about 8 weeks beforehand. I know some training groups just finished, so you might face a little wait. Then again, it doesn't always work logically.
  11. IF I'M WRITING SOMETHING, IT USUALLY ENDS UP LOOKING LIKE THIS. IT MEANS I HAVE TO WRITE ENTIRE ESSAYS LIKE THIS IN EXAMS NOW, AND IT'S BLOODY TIME CONSUMING. I'M NOT THE FASTEST WRITER IN THE WORLD AS IT IS. I'M SURE MY ESSAYS IN EXAMS ARE MUCH SHORTER THAN ANYONE ELSE'S. PROBABLY WHY I DO SO BADLY.
  12. Is handwriting obsolete? I had an exam (third year, Uni) yesterday, and realised that I literally don't have handwriting any more. Any time I write anything down I do it in block capitals, because it's neater than my usual scrawl, but I sat down in the exam and literally couldn't write in usual lower-case joined up writing. I realised that exams are the only time I have to write anything any more. All my term-time Uni work is done on the computer, and at my work I exclusively use computers too. I carry a pen at all times and the only time I ever fecking use it is the odd time I've got to sign my name.
  13. Heard any more about tomorrow's exams? I'm supposed to be in but I'm seriously considering requesting a deferral. I really don't want to have to drag my arse to Uni tomorrow, when there's the option of doing it in January instead.
  14. Have a word with her, see if she'll give up that appalling habit.
  15. So, eh, Stirling Uni, how about, eh, cancelling Wednesday's exams too...?
