  1. Depressing auto deflection typical of the PnB fanboys. “Look! Look! Over there is much worse!” This thread is about Salmond and, latterly, very little comment about the SNP executive and their alleged attempts to fit him up. Which you’d have thought might have drawn more comment than it has Guaranteed that if it was anyone wearing a blue/red/pick your colour rosette this’d be full of outrage. The lack of self awareness or critical questioning of our dear leader is not good.
  2. Wizz Air hostess jailed for dealing (ok, artistic licence) wizz after losing job due to Covid... https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/air-hostess-who-turned-drug-22765648
  3. It’s been quoted a few dozen pages back but, to paraphrase: ‘we’re all in the shitsoup (her term) together, best just get used to it and get on with it’.
  4. Not the sofa but we’ve got a Stressless recliner chair. Mrs a-p’s uncle got it from some place in Edinburgh a wee bit before he passed away and we ‘acquired’ it from the house clearance. Would I spend £1200 on a chair and footstool? Nae danger! But is if the comfiest chair I’ve ever sat on and can I see it lasting 20+ years? Absolutely.
  5. Makes a change from The Rangers thread I suppose.
  6. I'm no fan of the paper nor the style of journalism but the Daily Mail are today running an expose that Carrie Symonds is on holiday on Lake Como with their baby. Now, the woman is entitled to her holidays and time away. She has as much to do with running the country as you or I. But there was also the - vehemently denied (he was mistaken for Tony Blair!) - story that BoJo was seen at an Italian airport over the weekend. However, he too is entitled to his holidays and time with his family. But I can't help but think there's a whole load of loose ends that aren't currently tying up. If this turns into his Barnard Castle I fear whatever credibility he might hold may just be about to vapourise. We may not, in fact, all be in this together....
  7. Me n current Mrs a-p are one house, a-p Jnr occasionally sharing. Mrs a-p (being an only child) has her muther as our extended household bubble. The former Mrs a-p lives alone with a-p Jnr occasionally sharing I think, as was so eloquently put earlier, he'll just need to pick ane.
  8. Have done. Every day for the past 20 years...
  9. That's my take on it - he's over 18 and in full time work so not a child for the purposes extended family definition ETA and we've already got the MiL as our extended bubble so he can't join that gig.
  10. Go on, I'll add to the confusion: the boy is 20 and currently down south on a training course. When at home he lives back and forth between his maw's house and here depending on his mood and who he is/is not talking to. So when he comes back up at the road this weekend, he'll have to pick only one house that'll have to commit to for the forseeable? Can't see anyone being happy abut that one!
  11. I think the general takeaway is that if you’re largely doing pootling about for most of the week then a modern diesel is not the car for you.
  12. How long would it take you to get through 48 hard boiled eggs?? . Not for me ta.
  13. Thought a 2005 was a bit early for a dpf and indeed it seems it has neither a dpf nor a timing belt: https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/41929/does-my-nissan-x-trail-have-a-dpf-and-dual-mass-flywheel-and-is-it-likely-to-give-problems- Think the dual mass flywheel would have given out before now if it was a problem . Will probably trundle on forever with regular oil changes
  14. He forgot to mention the minor indiscretion of a criminal record in his profile. Probably just slipped his mind. Otherwise seems like a nice chap who’s never uttered the phrase ‘ladz, ladz, ladz!’ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.scotsman.com/news/uk-news/jail-gary-linekers-wealthy-brother-over-ps220000-tax-fraud-2512928%3famp
  15. Absolutely the opposite is true in my experience. Declare every ding and fault on the online form and they’ll keep the offer respectable to reel you in. Once you’re on the lot they’ll absolutely decimate the price for every new and undeclared thing they find. I think they work on the premise that by the time you’ve ended up on site you’ve mentally committed to just ditching the car.
  16. I suspect he was anticipating the bulk of the traffic to come up the M6 and hang a left onto the A75.
