  1. Think your definition of "wipeout" is different from the accepted one, mind you.
  2. 9. Proud to say I had no clue on the biblical pish. Edit: and a 7 in the Comedy. Best ever I think, might be time to retire from that one. Can't see me getting more than that ever.
  3. Bologna are 1 place and 4 points behind Juventus - it's not like he'd be going from Frosinone or some relegation threatened non-entity.
  4. Arsenal will beat Man Utd. Liverpool play into United's hands with their gung-ho approach and Arsenal don't give up many chances (no goals conceded so far in 2024). Fancy Man City to win out and the game it all hinges on will be the North London Derby.
  5. Even though we finished miles ahead of Airdire last season (and Falkirk, snigger), I actually thought Airdrie's style of play suited the Championship more than ours did. Our title winning run was built on a solid defence (and we were never going to keep as many clean sheets up against better forwards) and winning games by one (or more when part time teams tired). Airdrie were probably going to leave gaps at the back in a higher division but they also create a lot of space further forward with the movement of the front three so they were likely to have joy there. Obviously if we had a fully (or even close) to it squad then we may already be secure in the top four but it's no surprise to me that the Diamonds are doing so well. Still think if Raith win Tuesday we might pip them to 4th mind you...
  6. Would you perhaps describe them as... Anyway, Americans are going nuts for the upcoming eclipse. Not only are they thinking it's some sign from God because the intersection of the paths of this one and the last one go over a town called Rapture or somesuch, they're also worried that CERN are doing Physics shit on the 8th and NASA are shooting probes at the Sun in some kind of Mission named after a serpent god. Really need to stop looking at Twitter and Facebook tbh.
  7. I'm sorry but I fail to see how anyone can want Man City to win anything. I hope Arsenal/Liverpool win the league, Real Madrid pap them out in Europe and they lose the FA Cup Final. Glory hunting fans at work is a small price to pay IMO.
  8. The only good thing to come from Discovery is that it reignited Star Trek as a TV show as Picard and Lower Decks have had decent moments and Strange New Worlds has been almost exclusively very good. I hate how Burnham is the best of the best at everything. Even in a new century, she's the best. Even dealing with species she's never met. She's the best pilot, best tactician, best fighter, best politician, best engineer, best problem solver. The rest of the crew I quite like - Stammets, Culber, Detmer, and especially Tilly and Saru - but we hardly see them because Burham had to do everything. Even though she caused the Klingon war in the first place.
  9. It's telling that since Hamitlon and Otoo have been available, Chalmers hadn't even been the first replacement when one had been missing - Paul Allan has been playing and at least is a threat from set pieces (both in terms of crossing ability and shooting) which is iconic in a way as set play delivery was Chalmers' biggest asset last season.
  10. Not listening today (thankfully). What is this? And why was it deemed so important?
  11. Chalmers playing? Away win. I jest, but Hamilton and Otoo, and Allan and Otoo have looked decent in the midfield; I'm not convinced Chalmers slow paced play and limited ability in the final third will be of much use on a pudding of a pitch and up against a decent Thistle midfield. Hope I'm wrong, of course.
  12. It benefits plenty of workers. People who work for American arms firms, for example.
  13. "Playable condition" will still likely mean very soft, heavy ground and lots of mud later in the game. Won't be a classic, that's for sure. Not sure I can make it today so was hoping for a postponement tbh but hopefully we can keep our recent good form up and Airdrie drop some points to Morton too.
  14. Alexa, show me a man wearing trainers for the first time.
  15. Whereas the English FA said they'd go even if they finished second. And promptly lost 1-0 to the USA.
  16. I'm deepest, darkest Fife growning up a "tink" just meant a bit dirty. Your mum or dad would say "wash your face, you're a tink" or similar. I think "mink" was also used - not sure if it was a rhyming slang type situation or a combination of tink and manky? A tinker was someone who dealt in second hand goods, often but not exclusively door to door. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Rich Man, Poor Man, Beggar Man, Thief. Never heard either refer to a traveller though - they were usually "gypsies" (which of course is mostly ignorance as some but not all travellers were romany gypsies). Incidentally, when I lived in Southampton, travellers were called "diddicois" (might be/probably spelling that wrong). No idea of the origins of that or if it was/is deemed offensive though.
  17. And why the relatively late kick-off? 8 pm seems an odd choice for a final that could presumably go to Extra Time and penalties?
  18. Didn't one of the Alloa players have sort of record? Alan Trouten possibly - not sure if I'm conflating two different things though. There was one season where I'm sure a visiting player had scored as many goals at EEP as our own top scorer had?
