The interview was good and informative. What we've had for several years now is just words, words and more words from directors, chairman, managers players etc etc. Aye , just more words from McGlynn, but the marked difference us that he's been there, done it , knows the league and the players and what is required, so in that respect gives us some cause for optimism. The bod statement of everyone needing to pull together and do their bit is spot on. Difficult for some folk though as they seem hell bent on criticising at every turn instead of trying to help us out of this mess.

A lot less than we should have due to a former director that's for sure.
And he's still hanging about like a bad smell. Heard yesterday he got invited to compere a sportmans dinner at Elliots..shameful if true.

M&M and Sheerin were straight out of Aldi budget appointments and look where that has got us. We're in the last chance saloon, you have to speculate to accumulate. They had better find the money from somewhere to appoint a decent manager.
' better find the money from somewhere '

You're not taking the most relevant fact into account here though: Rennie was appointed by a board containing Back Post Misses' mates and Sheerin wasn't.
Christ years of failure and ineptitude, Lex, Andy Thomson, Deans, PR Guru ' the fans will need to understand' , Craig Campbell, Lang, Hartley , McKinnon, relegation etc etc and that's what you chose to point your finger at? Utterly pathetic stuff. Unless of course your welded to one of the above then its no surprise.

I've fixed that for you.
It's another massive rebuild job in the summer so Rennie for me has the last 9 games to prove he deserves to be here next season. We've been playing just as bad under him as it was under Sheerin but as crazy as it is to say I actually think he's brought in better quality players.
The playoffs are a lottery but given how we've performed against the teams above us this season even if we magically sneak into them there's no chance we'll go up. Especially with our midfield still being as piss poor as it is.
Grim reading below.
Goalkeepers
Robbie Mutch - Out of contract
Paddy Martin - June 2023
Luke Holt - June 2023Defenders
Paul Dixon - Out of contract
Blair Sneddon - June 2023

He has pace and the ability to beat a man. What comes after that is the ability to deliver a good cross. That is why won't move onto anything better than us.
If Telfer got his act together and was more influential further up the park he would go much further than Morrison.
Folk still talking about Telfer 'potentially ' being a good player ' if he had decent players round about him ' etc etc. He's 27 this year for gods sake. Been overran by part time players and struggles to defend. Id move him on in summer we've seen enough.

Posted this already but we didn’t start slowly last night.
We we’re on the front foot from the kick off and could have had a couple of very early goals.
We certainly didn’t maintain the early pressure for long and became rather passive and disorganised after ten minutes or so.
Dowds could have scored in the first minute, that would have set the tone. Seemed to be forgotten by some focusing on the negatives as usual. Yes, we were poor and could have conceded in the first half, but they didn't score did they and we scored 3 in the second half, some cant even find a positive in that. There's progress, no doubt, 6 new signings and with Dowds and Mutch back in the team has changed drastically . Rennie has got rid of some dross and replaced with better., bonding the team now is essential. We need to show steady progress now now on in. We're on the right track imo. Well done to those who took the time and effort to go last night, we do have some good and dedicated fans who support the team more than a forum.

Just mentioned this in the Falkirk thread.
Thought these stanchions had been done away with years ago.
Should be, but even with Mulraneys negotiated 350k from spfl they can't replace them. Tinpot club.

The recruitment will be the manager not the Boardroom.
I still think we have got to try and get a midfielder and striker in to improve the side this season. If we don’t go up big financial decisions to be made in the summer probably.Rennie has to find a formula now IMO.
The waste of this club since Deans took the reigns still makes me so angry. We are where we are predominantly because of the decisions he made appointing an inept Boardroom and then in turn M&M, Holt and Sheerin and the bloated off the field structure burning cash. It looks a difficult fix now.
Well said. Some folk still think we can fix this in 5 minutes, on and off the park. When it comes to Falkirk some folks logic goes right out the window.

Wishful thinking but if we went on an absolutely class run no reason as to why we couldn’t get second. Need Jaze and Anton to get 20 -25goals between them - look what happened last year when Thistle had a good January and brought in players like tiffoney.
People keep quoting ' look what Partick done ' going on that run to win the league. It was only made possible by a catastrophic collapse by the team at the top...who happened to be us.
Doubt a fall of that magnitude has happened before or will again. Disastrous stuff from bod, through Holt, the management team and certain players. Have to be thankful we are rid of the vast majority of them.

Agent Yogi will send the Pars down. He's not even being subtle about it, signing dross like Chalmers and even paying money for him
Ayr fans can't believe they've got rid of Chalmers, think he's rank rotten.

AT Sinclair and Kabia have been good signings. Better recruitment already, gives us hope for the future. Rennie knows the score imo.

Yes, we do but not just anybody or Holts targets. Not alot if activity in any of the leagues outwith the bigot brothers.

Where does the fault lie though?
Holt must've been working on recruitment from Oct - Dec and identifying players with his staff and Sheerin. There must be collateral produced over that period that has gone in the bin when the new BOD or Rennie appeared.
Was AT-S even considered before impressing for Dunfermline.
Midway through the window and knowing we need fresh blood - as acknowledged before last week's game - and another week slips by without even one new face something does seem amiss.
What seems amis?
Aye Holt would have been working on recruitment but as proved he's not very good at it. Would you prefer Rennie n Miller to go with Holts list or their own? They're aren't many teams signing numerous players up to this point or is there something I've missed.

January is always a difficult window, but with covid cover clubs are retaining players they maybe would have released or put out on loan just to bulk out their squad. No easy to get players in imo. This is where contacts, favours and looking further afield come into play.

Seems odd to me be to be resigning 6 weeks into the role, after the company secretary has just done the same and coaches have resigned suddenly.
Seems more than a coincidence to me.
I’d also be interested to know more about how these ‘working groups’ were put together. I’d have thought you’d want to have an open application process, but they seem to have been hand picked by board members as far as I can see.
As stated there was the invitation to apply for those roles. Early days for this new bod and they have to be given time.
The last ' Chairman' was handpicked by the previous bod. ( Colin LiddElls pal) The ' Chairman' then handpicked his bod, which turned out to be a disaster. I honestly don't think this bod are naive enough to repeat that.

I think the new BOD have handled the Holt thing very well. They weren't in the door two minutes and had to find a new management team, that was the top priority. Took their time to find out what Holt actually did so that whovever took over those duties had an understanding of what was required. Also took time to get the legalities right on his departure. Good move and decision making imo. We have an opportunity now to move forward. We as fans have to grasp this opportunity. We have to pull together, and can do it by joining the FSS, we cant point the finger at someone else if we dont.

Or if Holt thinks so.
Considering it was Holt that signed him at Livingston there’s no danger this is a Martin Rennie signing. If he's decent, its a Rennie signing, if he's gash, he's a Holt signing..thats the way it works in here isnt it ?

Those that were in Vaduz ( real fans) to get priority for all ticketed matches, and rightly so.

Stuart Adam’s presentation of the FSS was impressive and was very open and honest. I really feel the template is there now for proper meaningful fan ownership but it’s only going to work if people sign up and we have ongoing investing, just under 200 members at present. I think for it to make a tangible difference we are going to need closer to 1000 signing up and paying the £10 a month to achieve both the ongoing investment levels and the required shareholding in the club. That same pitch from tonight needs to somehow be put to out to the wider fan base and not just the 100 or so at tonight’s meeting. More fans need to sign up and actually contribute to making a change as opposed to merely moaning and complaining on online forums.
Spot on

We wont get success on the park until we have sorted the stuff off the park imo. Most certainly this is a step in the right direction.
There will be folk who'll moan and groan no matter what, especially on here. As Ive said on many occasions theres some who are bigger fans of forums than they are of the club.

Reasonable performance as was last week, a bit of improvement. Only hope it can give them confidence and take chances. We have to remember the standard of opposition., we have got most our points from teams in lower half of league. We simply have to start beating teams in top half if we're serious about gaining promotion.
McCanns best game, Telfer good also. Never ever a pk and we should appeal no matter what it costs, BOD can pay out of own pockets, they're due us.
Thought Clyde were decent for the 5 minutes that there was no ball.

They've done extremely well not to go down that route however tempting and being provoked, they've just got on with clearing up the mess. It would, imo help some folk to understand exactly what they've had to deal with if it comes to light.
