As many have posted, lack of games with the high probability that anyone lined up is now effectively shut out for ten days, puts huge pressure on GH PS getting new or loan players in.
Increasingly looking like loanees will be the clubs only option now.

Which begs the question why were we relying on trialists snd loanees in the first place. Source your targets, watch them, offer a deal, get deals done in plenty time. They do it at levels far lower than us.

  2. Holt trying to justify his position with promoting 3 youngsters to the first team. He said in interview when Fergus was appointed that he'd like to find a 'diamond' initially for the first team. Looks like we have 3, some going, we'll be in Champions League soon at this rate. Sheerin to carry the can if it goes tits up.

  3. If you were an outsider looking in, you'd think that we were getting organised on and off the park, restructuring etc. Certainly doesnt feel like that to me ,and the question is, where do we go from here if this doesnt work ? Begging bowl out to fans, Navy Blue? We've been here before and we'll be there again, its just a case of when imo.

We found two gems from bounce games that season. Taylor and Leahy were trialists when we went up North to play Fortmartine & Turiff and were signed afterwards.

Farid and Vaulks were trialists playing in bounce games too. As was Rory Loy.

Fair enough, Id agree with some of that, ( Vaulks was watched before being invited up )but point is we've had  Sporting Director in place from January ( which we dont have back then) who remit allegedly is to target players, yet here we are a few weeks before the season starts and we have key positions to be filled and are scrambling about with trialists with unimpressive backgrounds.

Could be doing with all three of that ilk.

Exactly. Thing is, none of them were trialists. If we're relying on finding some gem from a few bounce games then the horse has already bolted ( or is that Holted). Squad atm looks no where near good enough imo and if we've already signed our main targets we're in for another rough ride.

I've changed my mind on Jaime Wilson, he got 26 goals in 52 games for Rothes FC in his two seasons there. Exactly the type of junior footballer we should have been scouting for years, just wished we'd had him last season.

Soccerbase has him playing zero games for Rothes and scoring 19 goals. He must be good.

  7. Holts just not a likable person is he, and him being involved with recruitment is a worry. Justifying the January signings and stating Tiffony 'is young as well' when theres a 4 year age gap from tge guys we signed is desperate. stuff

Phil Rawlins knows his stuff, think he'll be a big help to the club, by god we need it, cant say the same for others though. Him stating the club was in a mess sums it up.

Deans, McFarlane and Colburn done nothing to improve connect between fans and bod. Cant see that changing.

A bit if a worry that we're only 2 permanant signings away from our core squad. We need two strikers worth their corn. ''Loanees are a bit of a gamble' doesnt auger well either. We have to get them right. Pleasing to hear Sheerin will play attacking football but just told the whole league our formation before a balls kicked. I wish him well though.

Massive season for us, we need to deliver.

Agreed he looked every bit a lower league player. I'm not convinced by him at all, he's still young enough obviously, if we do keep him he needs to improve massively this season but as been mentioned he isn't going to score a lot.  Big question mark over Keena too but more so can he keep fit. He showed in fleeting glimpses he can finish. But I certainly wouldn't be relying on either of them

Dowds is 25 this year, he's past the still developing stage imo.

I also thought we'd have won the league last season if it had played to a finish.

Reckon we'd have matched Raith's results along the last quarter (as a minimum given we had the easier fixtures on paper) and beaten them at home on the last day to win the league

All down to opinions and conjecture. Truth is, no knows how it would have panned out, and its irrelevant now.

  10. Anybody guess what the game plan is or will be,its been hard to fathom out if there is one.  Morrison is a decent crosser of the ball with both feet yet his target is a lone striker that isn't a target man with no one up to support him. We're in desperate times. Lee Miller probably the best foil for Keena and crosses from wide ,however looks like hes hung up his boots, at least until the split, where if we're trailing watch out for last chance saloon stuff throwing 4 strikers on. Oh dear.

Have to agree, I wasn't sure when they got the job although like most I thought give them a chance, but after an initial steadying of the ship we really haven't improved at all. Their recruitment in the main has been poor, also think they struggle to separate being a manager from being a player and are too close to the players which probably doesn't help. Just never been convinced by the pair of them tbh. I think the best they could hope for is to somehow get us over the line and promoted then their CV is unblemished and they can go and coach their brand of turgid football somewhere else.

Totally. But the crunch for me is at Board level.  We will find out if there is truely a new broom with a forward thinking bod who are prepared to take bold decisions and say thanks very much but ta ta even if we are promoted.  If they are truely wanting to progress the club as they say they will see what we are seeing and bin the two of them and go get a proper manager.

  12. Management team proved yet again how inept they are. Formation and team selection all wrong. The Leitch love in is beyond a joke now. One up front at home to part time bottom 3 club is beyond comprehension. We may yet stumble over the line to promotion but if goes to 22 games the last 4 gives me the fear. M n M should be binned irrespective of this seasons outcome. Cant see the bod seeing it that way unfortunately.
