Watched the highlights with Akeels one for the second goal it looks as if we finally have a bit of a physical presence in the team and dare i say it Sammon as much as he didnt get any goals looks as if he is trying to create something for Keena.

As for the established CH part of DM interview i only hope that whoever comes in displaces Durnan as much as Hall has some mistakes in him, Durnans is just a red card waiting to happen at the best of times.

Was interesting to hear McCracken say that. We probably all expected Durnan to be that 'established' centre back but sounds like maybe he's not. Either that or they've discovered they dont like the pairing of him and Hall. Could we sign someone called Dobbie and pair him with Hall ?

Still think it'll depend on the defender we sign as they need to be a starter as Durnan and Hall both have a bombscare in them. M&M said a while ago that a defender and a back up goalie would be their lot but if that was the case I highly doubt we'd have so many attacking trialists in just now. So hopefully that means we've got another 3 or 4 at a push signings to make.

The goalposts may have moved and more money released for signings due to the Rawlins appointment possibly? Otherwise I don't see the point in midfield or attacking trialists if there's no intention of signing any if them.

Still regard Yogi as one of our best coaches. We had some really good squads and playing decent entertaining football. Some unbelievable games and many comparable with the Jeffries era. For me his departure was really disappointing for a guy that had given us many years as a player then coach, however it’s clear it wasn’t all one sided.
Still think the minute he got an open cheque book, the rot started

Agree with most if this. Spoke to a BOD member in Vaduz who confirmed the story Hughes told M Richie ' Il f**k your club up for years'. With the dads army on big cash, it could be argued that he certainly did, from which we haven't recovered. He's yesterdays man now right enough.

  4. Lex leaving means another small step in the right direction, with him and Thomson gone it can only be a good thing. The main culprits of course are still at the helm and until they dilute or bail will continue to call the shots. Time will catch up with them eventually but the biggest worry is their parting shot, when they could possibly sell to some undesirables. They've already proved that's possible.

I wonder if this could see the return of his bid to take over the club or am i just wishful thinking, its a start though

With more questions than answers. Foreign businessmen interested in Falkirk? I smell a rat. Hopefully after the Mark Campbell debacle there has been proper due diligence carried out on Gow and his intentions and they haven't based it on watching a couple of old videos of him kissing the badge.  We have a right to be sceptical.

It was Peter Taylor that came up with the waifs and strays. Clough would come up the specification of the type of player he wanted and Taylor did the rest. He was also the foil for Cloughs genius and turning these under preforming players around Kenny Burns being a good example.

Stokes would have been a gamble for sure. If it worked great ! If it didn't then little outlay ! If anything it would be seen  as a flawed ex hero being given a chance of redemption that he blew.

Fair do's. My point wasn't about Stokes or Clough in particular it was the fact that Livingston don't care about reputations as long as they have ability. We've been goody two shoes for too long.

Anthony Stokes signs up at Livingston right enough.  Probably give him til Xmas before it all goes wrong. .

They're morally corrupt but not scared to take the untouchables and couldn't give a hoot what folk think. Not the only reason but they're in the top division and we're languishing in the 3rd. Clough used to pick up waifs and strays, knew they had ability and sorted them out. He didn't do too badly. We've been taking the moral highground ,trying to be pc and signing boys brigade lance corporals who apologise for making a tackle.

You're saying the option lay with the player?! Any club entering into such an agreement would literally be the stupidest football club on the planet. The option should only lie with one party - the club. There has never been any confirmation from the club about the length of the contract he signed. Who's to say it was not a straight two years. I'd be astonished if the management team have not advised him he's free to go if he can get himself a move elsewhere. That's a long shot unfortunately.

Blame Lex. It was him that mucked up the contract and tried to blame McKinnon.

Unless we can offload Sammon(thanks Ray) then I'd guess a versatile defender and keeper.

I'm still not ruling out 3-5-2, tho expecting 4-4-2, I really don't wanna see 4-2-3-1 in the 3rd tier, it was bad enough under Elvis in the 2nd tier.

Perhaps the loan market maybe more cost effective this season with a 27 game season in the bottom 3 tiers and I'm guessing little reserve squad action to go with that.

Think youl find that it was Lex that botched the contract and tried to blame McKinnon. Tried several times to get Sammon to rip up contract which he didn't as is his right.

I've said a thousand times it's time for FFC to stop being the big girly pussies who do things right all the time.

Having morals and always being the good guys has seen us end up in the 3rd tier and yet still our fans get their knickers In a twist if we even dare to do anything a tad controversial.

The nice guy routine can go f**k itself.

Correct. Long overdue. Been proved countless times self interest and cheating pays in Scottish football. Get with the programme.
