I think last night showed that Porto would benefit from a move away from Hibs if he wants to reach some of the potential he’s shown. He’s been in the team for 4 seasons and had 4 different managers, some utter shite at that. He’s never had a good experienced leader alongside him for a prolonged period to learn the positioning and organisational side of defending (other than an ageing McGregor sporadically). One week with a top quality coach and with international level players and he’s put in his best performance for a long time. He must be looking at McKenna and thinking now might be the time to have a go at down south.

I was really looking forward to watching Hibs and sampling Dundees finest boozers…... Now looking like I’ll be spending the weekend weeding the garden and doing various bits of painting around the house. An absolute travesty.

Had an evening tee at Leven Links for the first time last night. Really enjoyed it, nice warm night and it had rained just before we teed off so there was a nice zip about the greens and fairways. The signature hole is the 18th and it is pretty spectacular, a long par 4 with a raised green above a water hazard right in front of the clubhouse.

It was the first American sports team I could come up with during my tear stained rant.

There’s no doubt Johnson could be doing better but the main issue for me is that there are 3 people alongside the manager making decisions on recruitment, 2 of them are Americans with absolutely zero knowledge of football at all and the third has next to no football experience other than a short spell as a chief operating officer with an English club. It’s like three c***s plucked out a boozer on Leith walk making recruitment decisions for the fucking New York Giants.

Tillman is infuriatingly good.

Utd have done well so far but that was a really class bit of play.

If someone had offered me 4 points from the first 2 games after the Falkirk game I would have snapped their hand off. The team needs a lot of work still but 2 injury time goals in the past 2 weeks show at least there is a bit of grit across the squad and a decent level of fitness. I think the advanced midfield three really struggled to impose themselves on the game. If those three had been able to show and keep the ball better it would have allowed us to get a better grip of the game during the first 20 minutes of the second half. Far too much long balls in the second half due to a lack of options. Melkerson for me needs to play as a striker but at least with Boyle coming back that solves the issue on the right. I thought Henderson was pretty poor on the left yesterday, i think he needs to play centrally but it remains to be seen whether he’s good enough. Youan looks like he has something about him but he looks used to playing with a partner. He needed to stay more central yesterday and play as a focal point but he found himself out wide too often. He had to be looking to get on the end of the cross in the first half from cadden and the other in the second half from Cabraja but he wasn’t where you would expect your number 9 to be. In a short space of time I think Johnson’s done well so far, need a good few signings to be pushing top 4 still but I’m happier about the season than I was in mid July.

Surprised anyone took that bait tbqh…..it was a lazy effort.

Ah it feels just like 7 years ago again, good times.

Foals set was excellent. Looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.
