The "you're just a fat lazy b*****d" chant was an interesting one. I mean it's common for former players to take some abuse in football, so maybe I'm just a bit touchy about it because I really liked Tomi. I'd take Dowds over Adeloye however anyday based on what I've seen of them.

The shot stopping from Clarke has been very impressive so far, especially considering how young he is. With his age also comes a lack of experience regarding commanding his box and knowing when to come and when not to. He has also been very much thrown in to the team in the last couple of games. Hopefully in the coming weeks as he settles a bit more and feels a bit more comfortable with his teammates we might see a slightly more commanding goalie performance - although it's probably harsh to say he wasn't commanding when his saves yesterday were huge in us actually winning the game. Overall, I've been very happy with him.

Aye, like it or not, that kind of stuff is part of the game and we had been soft as shit for a long time with all of it. It's good to see, combined with the added aggression and fight we saw at points.

Loved seeing a member of staff getting sent around the sides of the park by Brown / Whittaker just after our winner, to tell the the ball boys to chuck the balls they were holding behind the wall.

Big part of me would like to see us make ourselves safe within a few weeks of now then coast in mid table obscurity till the summer. We're nowhere near good enough to up and i'd maybe rather not have the delay to the planning for next season that the playoffs would require. But in this league, a couple more wins and we are in the playoffs picture. No such thing as mid table obscurity. I'll be looking over our shoulder until we get 8/9 points more on the board.

Yeah would agree with that. Away to Pars & ICT then home to QP & Airdrie - anywhere in the range of 7-9 points from those games and we would be safe. We're still in the mire to a certain extent, but we're clear with a couple more big wins. Considering how desperate things looked for a while, that's a good feeling for now.

A lot to be really pleased about in that performance despite some calamitous individual errors at various points of the game. A lot more fight in the team than I can remember for a while. The keeper made some ridiculous saves. Did well to see the game out second time round after we got the winner. It was nervy but they got it over line. That result sets us up for a huge month of fixtures. If we manage to avoid defeat at Dunfermline and Inverness (hopefully a win in at least 1 of them) we'll be in a great spot.

Very pleasing. Thistle an absolute gang in defence. They move the ball around quite well but soft as shit when you put even a little bit of pressure on the backline. Glad to see the goals from Willoughby. Mon Ayr. See this out and the table is looking a lot more favourable.

Can't really understand why you're absolutely gutted that your club stated a 3 year target of being in the top 16 of clubs in Scotland? If your board had specifically stated "Well, we can't ever see the possibility of ever doing any better than Championship playoffs, so there's no point in ever thinking about anything more than that" I would maybe understand your point - but they haven't, it's just a 3 year target. They may well meet that (seen as Morton are currently a top 16 in Scotland side, it would more be a case of retaining that status). If Morton were to be promoted in that timeframe, then the target would change to retaining their status as a side in the top 12 in Scotland, or if they completely fell off a cliff and ended up in League 2 then the target for the next 3 years would be adjusted accordingly. Point being, I think you're reading into it far far too much. From Ayr's point of view. My ambition would be for us not to get absolutely battered by Morton again in our next meeting.

Aye, I'd love to see us to do something with the wall on the Somerset Road End, would be good to bring a bit of colour to it. Have we heard anything about the proposed development at the corner of the Railway end, the new gym and offices there? Seems to recall it was reliant on us receiving an SFA grant.

A win here would be huge to set us up for a run of 4 games in March against the sides around us in the table. Partick were pretty hopeless on Friday night (although we weren't much better yesterday). I'd take a point but I have a wee feeling we might be able to get a win. Going to have to rely a lot on Chalmers and Murphy without Dowds in the middle to tie things together. Ayr 2-1 Partick.

It'll be a slog till the summer. This squad is so lacking in the necessary quality in so many areas. Just get enough points to stay up and then completely gut this squad. As others mentioned, there's probably only 4/5 I think are good enough for the level. I've been one of the bigger critics in the past of the club using the off the field developments as a distraction from awful performances on the park - but I think some folk are getting carried away here in relation the new stand stuff. This is a pretty shite squad who have been performing a bit better of late. Today wasn't very good. The chairman isn't in control of week to week performances on the park, and the new stand is the big thing going on at the club right now, I don't blame them for promoting it.

The rest of the results went for us luckily. Feels like a missed opportunity because Raith were there for the taking. We just really lack quality. Going to be a long slog. Wins like last week against teams around us are going to be crucial.

We were pretty poor today. Raith were there for the taking but we just didn't offer enough.

Feared the worst after the first goal. But then we settled well and did okay. On a few occasions we just invited pressure onto ourselves however. The last thing to be doing when you've got a new young keeper who hasn't played with the team yet is force him into difficult situations with the ball at his feet. Towards the end of the half we started to look the more threatening. Then another one of those times where we lose the ball cheaply and get overrun in the middle. Sanders has to be more alert and someone has to be giving him a shout that's there's a man behind him. FS. Really frustrating goal to to concede.

The new goalie's kicks haven't been very good so far.
