Someone needs to get a grip of this situation. The Rangers haven't been punished. They were formed this week, FFS. The old Rangers are all but an irrelevance to the SPL now, so any talk of punishment in that context is wholly spurious. The reason that the newco shouldn't obtain a direct passage to the SPL is because that is not how a competition based on merit operates. Clubs work their way through the leagues and reach the top league based on merit. Punishment has nothing, whatsoever, to do with this. How hard a concept is this for arseholes like Johnston to grasp?
