  1. In that case, it cannot be a solvent reconstruction, as the old co is evidently insolvent. ETA: that was my 5000th post. Typically, it is probably as ill-informed and spurious as the other 4999 ETA#2: and my 600th green dot it would seem (cheers for that)! It is a day for milestones, so it is. Let's see what else this fine day might throw up!
  2. Would the newco be a 'solvent reconstruction'? Whatever that means. ETA: surely a newco would follow liquidation, in which case it wouldn't be a reconstruction at all, but an entirely....well....new co.
  3. Can the SFA AGM actually make a decision as to what sanction Ragners will now face? I thought it had to go back to the appeal panel.
  4. Aye, probably as well leaving it just now. That affords everyone more opportunity to get their fitness levels up. What about this Tour de Forth that UtN had posted a link to a few pages back? Either late August or early September I think. ETA: the above ride is on 19th August - Tour de Forth Sportive 70 miles is a sensible distance, and I can't see it being too hilly. I was looking for another sportive to take part in before the end of summer/early autumn, and this seems like a decent option.
  5. Please explain how a 3 month suspension would work in practice - or are you at the wind-up?
  6. FFS, so now the Joanna Lumley connection becomes clearer. That's just sick!
  7. Good stuff. Cheers for that. I've got quite a few dhb bits and pieces, and, for the most part, they are very good quality for the money. The fit is occasionally a bit hit or miss - I bought a L/S winter jersey and it is too short in the body. Not not you need for a winter top, TBH. Granted, we all have different body shapes, but while a short arse, I seem to be fairly typically proportioned, and size S in just about everything else fits me fine. That's nit-picking, though. The gear is generally very good, and I always check out theri stuff when planning a new purchase. I've ordered another set of bib-tights (less than £17!). Can't go wrong at that price. In fact, I could have been doing with them on the commute this morning - a wee bit chilly. The 93F temperature high in Skye just over a week ago seems like a long time ago....
  8. This. If anything, this 'clause' will simply serve to irritate the creditors further. The very notion that Green would have a built-in clause whereby he could purchase the assets at a price pre-determined by himself and D&P is laughable. I suspect the creditors would have something to say about the valuation placed on the assets in the event of liquidation. At the very least, you'd expect the assets to be sold to the highest bidder.
  9. Ah, this reminds me.... If Carlsberg did HMRC statements: Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs have given due consideration to the Creditors Voluntary Agreement (CVA) proposal submitted by Duff and Phelps (Administrators) on behalf of Rangers Football Club. On the grounds that this document contains numerous variables to the extent that the quantum cannot be deemed finite, we have concluded that the proposal is not deliverable.
  10. It'll be something along the lines of having received assurances from the SFA that they are dealing appropriately with the situation, and that they (FIFA) have confidence in this but will continue to monitor things. It'll be pretty bland stuff, I suspect. More FIFI than FIFA, most likely.
  11. According to a Rangers supporter at work today, they've got £3.5M in the bank to cover this. Thank fuck, I thought for a minute that they they might be struggling to do the right thing
  12. I asked for this facility about 400 pages ago, but Div didn't oblige. In saying that, he hasn't accepted my friend request on Facebook either. I think he has 'issues'.
  13. That's a shame. So who is up for a get together?
  14. Apologies in advance if anyone has already pointed this out, but.... If Rangers aren't in the SPL next season, it won't be due to relegation. Dunfermline have been relegated. They competed in the competition, but weren't quite good enough to stay up. Someone has to finish last. This is an alien concept to Rangers. Rangers don't believe in the meritocracy of a league competition. This is the absolutely fundamental issue here. Rangers have seen themselves as apart from the normal scheme of things. They clearly didn't want to compete - take their chances with everyone else, and accept the final analysis. Rangers' approach has been to manufacture their status, and it isn't simply cheating, it is about a refusal to accept that competing is about winners and losers, not just winners and all the other pieces of shite that they leave in their wake. This is the very antithesis of what I believe football (and sport in general) to be all about. Rangers supporters talk about justice and unduly harsh sanctions, blah, blah, blah.... This means nothing when you don't play the game. You can't expect justice when you haven't bought into the terms and conditions. If you choose to opt out, you're beyond the scope of that justice. They are fortunate that sanctions are even being considered, because this assumes that they still have any part to play. When this whole debacle kicked off, I had a wee chuckle to myself, but wasn't unduly concerned as to how it might pan out. As time has passed, and revelation after revelation has been thrown into the mix, I've grown mightily sick of the fact that they have caused me to question my interest in, and commitment to Scottish footballl, and, indeed, my own club. Nah. Rangers have been playing with a loaded dice for years. If they drop down, they won't have been relegated. They will have been correctly thrown off the table. If you don't play by the rules, don't expect anyone else to invite you back at any level. Tainted indeed.
  15. How do you know what they are/or will ultimately be owed? What they are owed will be what is indicated on their final 'invoice'. This is a pretty pointless debate, TBH. I just want them dead.
  16. The BBC publish the emails relating to D&P complicity in the Whyte takeover of Rangers.
  17. TBH, I'm not sure if Gilmour's outburst reflects his overall position on the newco scenario etc., but he is due credit for speaking out as he did, and it is plain for all to see that he is genuinely furious about the situation.
