  1. Thought his interview was reasonably balanced tbh. He can’t say that he’s already given up on catching Rangers this term and also admits that carelessness and indiscipline have put the team where they are, in comparison with this stage last year, going into the final 3rd of the season. He might have offered at least some credit to Livi following their back to back performances against his side perhaps, but other than that (knowing he’s going to get another grilling on dropping another two points), I’m not sure what else he could say.
  2. Rangers have certainly missed these three in recent games, but interesting amongst the chat about Morelos misfiring this season (up until the Aberdeen game), I think it’s Roofe who’s been missed the most. His work rate and ability to get on the end of things, picking up bits and pieces in the box have made a huge contribution to Rangers conversion of possession and chances into points this year.
  3. Eddie Howe’s Wiki page has been updated to read.... Clubs Managed: AFC Bournemouth 2008-11 Burnley 2011-12 AFC Bournemouth 2012-20 Celtic 2021- Guess it must be a done deal then.
  4. Honestly not sure what that equates to in comparison with a Season book at clubs like United, Killie, Accies, Aberdeen & St Mirren all charging between £12-£13.00 for their PPV games?
  5. Aye I guess, thought the Club’s explanation (on their website) of the £20 fee was pretty fair though. Recall it said that it worked out ST holders were getting their games for £17.00. They could hardly charge less for a one off purchase from other fans I suppose. One way to upset your committed support for certain.
  6. Does the Livi PPV stream allow you to cast the live game from your device to your TV Screen? Understand that some productions don’t permit this, it isn’t mentioned however on the Club’s PPV tab as far as I can see? Cheers in advance.
  7. A week of hard work and preparation for the remainder of the season becomes a bit of a waste, when half the first team squad have to go into isolation missing the next 2 league games. It’s hardly a means of competitive advantage on the park eh! Surely this was considered a possibility by the Club’s management? Maybe this season just isn’t as important to them as we’ve been led to believe?
  8. Some sympathy with what Stewart was trying to go with. There isn’t an attempt to win the ball but there also isn’t any intention or attempt to impede the player. Does the ruling explicitly cover a completely unintentional and accidental contact? I think that was his point wasn’t it? A penalty yes, but a harsh red and additional punishment, reducing one side to 10 men for 60 minutes of a competitive contest? Think MS is usually pretty fair on SS for what it’s worth. Also thought McInnes was measured and reasonable in his response to post match questions on the incident. A decision that certainly strengthened the way the match was already turning perhaps, in favour of the league leaders. Two well taken goals from a rejuvenated Morelos and an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration to give the Dons a glimmer of hope, offered a worthwhile viewing spectacle. A fair 2-1 scoreline to the away side all in all though. The less said about Main’s reckless challenge the better.
  9. Definitely, NS took the allegations seriously and supported the investigation, as she had to. AS was acquitted, criminal charges found to be not proven. It should have been the end of it. At worst, AS walked away with most punters believing there was at least some truth; that he could be a bit of a sleaze-ball with women after taking a drink. He emerged from the court without a conviction against him. It seems that an urge for revenge remains however, that he was subjected to such scrutiny in the first place, almost an affront to his character and personal standing. Think you’re right, most people have moved on. Further to that, NS and her team have far bigger things to deal with at the moment than Big Eck’s ego and his insistence on the finer points of due process despite the case being concluded in his favour months ago.
  10. Seems AS isn’t quite ready to let things go following his acquittal. A distraction NS could well do without at present. https://inews.co.uk/news/scotland/snp-alex-salmond-claims-nicola-sturgeon-misled-the-scottish-parliament-multiple-times-823179
  11. How can my good friends sit amongst poverty stricken Jakeys at the football? That doesn’t sound very humble to me, more scornful and condescending.
  12. My apologies, six unbeaten plus a draw in the cup final and a rare European win over Lille, a string of results suggesting they had just about turned the corner after the Ross County cup exit. It’s a huge points gap, but there will undoubtedly be twists and turns to come.
  13. That isn’t really what I said though is it. Is it inconceivable that Celtic could win their 3 games in hand? They had just won six league games straight going into Saturday’s game. Would it be SO far fetched to believe that they could win both remaining fixtures against Rangers? Granted the October defeat was more like a bounce game, but they could easily have taken the spoils yesterday. I think the honest answer to both questions is No. A gap of 4 points rather than 19, clearly becomes bridgeable, taking into account that BOTH sides will drop points between now and the end of the campaign. Yes, the odds are hugely stacked in Rangers favour, but it seems SG prefers to err on the side of caution and some of the Rangers fans on this forum too. Rangers may have recovered from the shock LC exit to St Mirren, but a defeat at Pittodrie next Sunday would have similar reverberations. Lunacy doesn’t come in to it, pragmatism does.
  14. There’s still half of the season to go, is it really beyond the realms of possibility for Celtic to win their 3 games in hand and both remaining OF games to level the series this season between the two sides? On yesterday’s showing perhaps not. Yes, Rangers would also need to drop points but a four point gap wouldn’t look so daunting and certainly not insurmountable. As for the game itself Rangers weathered the storm in the first half yesterday, but regained composure in the 2nd. Most neutrals I believe would just have easily have accepted a yellow for Bitton as they did the sending off. Celtic seemed to be running out of ideas by then anyway. As mentioned above, as soon as Lennon pulled Griffiths and Turnbull the game was up. Brown brings his nuisance value these days that is all, Duffy is absolutely hopeless, surely a sigh of quiet satisfaction from most Rangers supporters to see em both coming onto the park. Rangers didn’t fire up yesterday, but did enough, like all decent sides to grind out a result, albeit against 10 men for the final third of the game. SG says that Rangers will ignore any ‘title noise’ at this stage, he know’s the score, there’s still a long way to go.
  15. Still a long, long way to go this season, Celtic have improved significantly over the last few weeks, Turnbull now showing why he commanded the fee he was signed for. Rangers haven’t shown the composure of Oct/Nov but have picked up valuable points they might have dropped in recent seasons against Dundee United, Hibs, St Mirren etc. Grinding out wins instead of difficult and nervous drawn games. Surely Celtic will plan to force the pace and tempo here, the reverse fixture at Parkhead was like a training game! [emoji15] Griffiths to start alongside Edouard, if Lennon really wants to bare his teeth and have a go at Rangers from the off. Surely he won’t revert to type and start Brown though? In a game of this importance and against the threat posed by Rangers down the flanks and the solid support they have coming through the middle, it would be a huge risk. Their goals tally in addition to the efforts of the forward line, so far this season is incredible. A draw would certainly satisfy most Rangers fans I think, but surely the opportunity to create an even wider gap at this stage of the season is far too tempting! With Kent back, it should make for a cracking battle across the park. Just hope both sides really go for it. Expect a very close game with not a baw hair between them, best use of available depth on the bench may well be the key in the latter stages of the game.
  16. Didn’t think any pundit could have a more annoying voice/accent than Jamie Carragher or Steve McManaman perhaps but Stephen Warnock is running them pretty close tonight on MOTD2, Jeez it’s so fuckin droning and monotonous. Clear regional pattern emerging I guess.[emoji847]
  17. It’s a shame the momentum of this interesting season so far has been disrupted by the current restrictions in place. Will look forward to things getting started again. Things already looking desperate for Carrick though![emoji53]
  18. This is very true, but I hate the thought that it’s me who is then a bad parent if my kids don’t show the good manners to respond, with a thank you to their Gran or Aunties. They’re all well into their 20’s now, but I still feel the need to remind them to say thank you. It’s mental.
  19. Have thought this for a long time; that Bob’s humour just comes across as being very natural to Vic’s deliberate madcap stuff, if that makes sense? Suppose it worked quite well on ‘Shooting Stars’ for example but it is 25 years old now.
  20. Very much this, the way the SG have handled the C19 epidemic, performance wise; communication, errors made in hindsight with regards to infection control etc...isn’t so far removed from what’s happened down south. Nicola Sturgeon’s confident, assured approach holds sway however over the bumbling, dithering, haphazard, hopeless, incompetence displayed by Johnson, Hancock, Jenrick, Shapps, Williamson et al. She comes across as everything they are not at the helm of government. The current health crisis, whilst having tragic consequences for families right across the country; (along with the Brexit fiasco and shit storm about to hit the UK) has undoubtedly strengthened the case for independence from Westminster. How many undecided voters out there must now be thinking, ‘surely we can make a better fist of running things ourselves than this f*cking lot’?
  21. She’s a wee smasher, absolutely love her voice/Western Isles accent too.
  22. Reported on the main BBC news this lunchtime; that although Supermarkets presently have sufficient stocks of produce, ‘they are worried that supplies may becoming threatened over the next few days’. What a surefire and irresponsible way of creating another round of mass panic buying across the country, with people flocking to queue around the block at ASDA to snap up hordes of food that they don’t really need. I believe the next item, reported on the rising number of food banks, but had switched off by then.
  23. Absolutely, he gives himself the opportunity to check for the foul to award the pen, and in deciding so, then re-checks to judge if it’s worthy of a 2nd yellow (or clearly stopping a goal scoring opportunity?) to produce the Red Card. He studies the monitor twice and on each occasion (even with the slowed-down action reply) still doesn’t reach the conclusion that everyone seems to agree with, that the player wasn’t fouled but blatantly dives as soon as he’s inside the box. It’s a nonsense, he gets BOTH decisions wrong despite the aid of a pitch side review. This technology was supposed to eradicate result changing errors of judgement such as this. It’s doing nothing of the sort. I really hope that the use of VAR is never introduced into the Scottish game or certainly the way it is currently being deployed in the EPL.
  24. Fair point from Jermaine Jenas on MOTD last night on why Refs don’t use the same range of angles available to TV viewers when checking the VAR screen? Callum Wilson’s clear dive against Fulham gives Newcastle a penalty and reduces the opposition to 10 men. The Ref Graham Scott checks the action twice and STILL makes the wrong decision. The continued claim that the EPL is ‘the best league in the world’, is nonsense. It’s become a bit of a joke, with Refereeing and VAR being the punchline at present.
