  1. I think your first line articulates what I was thinking when I first saw this, assuming all the rest of your team is good enough it depends on whether you mean what is catastrophic to have a shit one of and what is the biggest value add to have a great one of. Definitely agree on the goalie being the one to avoid, as others have said there were a series of Hibs teams in the 00's who could probably have been more successful had we ever got that position right. I think for the great to have it could be anywhere down the spine really. Agree on CBs but equally having a top class for their level, all round central or defensive midfielder makes a huge difference, as does a great playmaker (Killie with Eremenko immediately comes to mind) and there's teams with weak outfields all over who have massively overperformed due to having a good CF. Think Griffiths at Hibs 12/13, or Boyd at Killie the following year when the two Edinburgh teams went down. Think it just comes down to personal preference or what you value most really. All that being said I think then if you have to narrow it down to one position goalkeeper would be the one everyone can agree on.
  2. Is it coming to Perth and should I get the washing in?
  3. There are lots of shows at the fringe which have included nudity. I have been to Spank a couple of times, however they make it very clear at the outset of the show that they will allow anyone to get their kit off at some point to promote something, that the MCs likely will as well, as fair warning to anyone who might find it uncomfortable. I've also unwittingly become part of a show that involved a fair amount of (not my own thankfully) nudity, and while it wasn't as clear in advance that this would be the case it was played for laughs, was fairly inexplicit and was part of the narrative of the show. It's obviously a difficult place to draw the line but I'd imagine that for the majority aggressively flashing (as has been reported by someone who was at the gig) a particular member of the audience as punishment for failing to remember a card and wanking yourself off (as reported elsewhere but I have yet to see confirmed) would be considered fair game for someone to have a gripe tbh. Likewise, I wouldn't say it was a problem for people to think that even a "controversial" comedian would probably refrain from racial slurs.
  4. Wasn't even talking about you, or anyone else in particular, man so you carry on.
  5. Imagine jumping in two footed before you know even the slightest bit of context about something and you end up being forced to support a guy who had a show cancelled for flashing a member of his audience.
  6. After the first couple of weeks I thought we just needed a fit Magennis or similar but shows you when they're playing Omeonga in the same role we're playing Joe Newall, and Joe Noubles battering entire defences while Christian Doidge has turned into a ghost. Youann and Boyle off a new CF not 14 years old please
  7. I love that this thing with Boyle oppo means fans can't even see a very clear foul on him
  8. I'm left handed and use the cutlery the right-handed way, just having always had things laid out that way when I was growing up. While I'd say a right hander doing it the left handed way is defo OFTW behaviour, it is one of those things that I feel is maybe actually easier for a lefty. Likewise playing guitar, I want my strong hand for the fiddlier bit and use my right with the plectrum.
  9. Mind last week when Mikey Stewart was talking about how ridiculous it was that we got rid of Jack Ross...
  10. Yes Yes, considerably Aye they love giving newbies the full tour, surprising how quickly it all becomes unaffecting isn't it. And aye I didn't really know anything about it before starting the work so seeing what's left going into essentially a tumble dryer full of steel balls was weird. Can't remember surnames but is it still Dave and John running the service there?
  11. I feel a bit bad sometimes if someone has had clearly less than everyone else because of not drinking or whatever but surely you just say "you pay X and we'll all up ours by £whatever" rather than getting the notepad out and working out everyone's exact payment
  12. I worked on a project about 8 years ago looking at Sustainability scoping for Glasgow City Council's crems, and was surprised to see this was the case. Its theoretically possible (wasn't my part of the project so can't remember the ins and outs of it) to use the amount of heat generated to power a turbine as well and generate enough power to supply about half the electricity required for an electric cremator. Was a fun job, walking past the queue of coffins waiting for their shot on my way to get lunch every day. Saw a skull implode once. Great days
  13. Aye I think the way we're trying to play this season, especially with two pretty attacking fbs, having an out and out holding midfielder will be very valuable for us. Needs to improve on the ball but has been good defensively in both games so far. Looked a bit daft for shanklands goal but was put in a pretty shite position
  14. Given the outcome of the case is this not itself defamation
  15. Bloody hell, the guy was trying to make others aware of a dodgy website and gets utter pelters for it, including some arsehole taking the piss telling the OP that he's going to use his phone number in online surveys. Not on P and B, not on.
  16. So obviously we'll never know the details but have we effectively made somewhere between 500 grand and a million by loaning him over there for 6 months?
  17. Looked excellent last night, the quality in that spine of Mulgrew, Levitt and Fletcher will make such a difference. Watt and Middleton is good balance on the wings as well. Thought Fletcher would be a very good target man at this level, and still don't expect him to score a lot, but was very surprised and impressed with how much and quickly he got about the park. Still think you could do with a more holding midfielder as it doesn't look too balanced in there and I doubt you want Harkes to be starting much but the team's looking excellent. Ross will have times like last weekend where he loses points from a 1 goal lead, and it'll rarely be especially pretty, but if he can keep your key players fit you'll push Hearts further than us or Aberdeen imo.
  18. Haven't been on much recently and have been catching up on this thread. Thoughts going out to everyone who's been sharing their problems and, as with everyone else, am always available for a PM if anyone needs a vent or someone to listen. Got a google photos reminder yesterday of a walking trip I took this time last year when I was signed off for a few weeks, seems like a long time ago. I ended up getting the piss ripped out with EAP counselling through work and then getting some private therapy for a while which I gave up in April or so as I couldn't justify it with saving for a wedding etc. Things have been going largely well, had a lot more of a support network since moving up to Perth and getting out of Covid restrictions which has been a big help, and while I struggle to do it all at the same time consistently I am getting rid of some bad habits that helped to drag me down and building some better ones, especially around booze, exercise etc. So in a much better place now, given I was struggling to motivate myself to do anything outside of work really and having panic attacks a few times a week this time last year. Big problem now is still my work. Been trying to get away seriously for about 6 months now, had 4 interviews which went pretty well but haven't worked out and a lot of rejected at application level ones. I'm keeping my head up on that as I know something better will come around but it's really hard to keep going at my current work. Had a very quiet spring and now struggling to deal with things going mental busy again, and just piling up work to the point of getting a bit overwhelmed again. I genuinely detest what I do, the firm I work for, the clients we work for, and pretty much all the management I am aware of. Most of the folk I got on with have left as conditions are just getting worse and worse, and I'm starting to get the anxiety levels and a feeling of I'll be stuck here forever again. I honestly just wish I could hand in my notice tomorrow and say f**k it, find something through an agency or in retail or something to pay the bills until I got one of the roles I've been applying for recently and get this monkey off my back. But if it didn't work out and I started wiring into my savings as COL is spiralling out of control I'd be completely fucked, so I'm stuck feeling trapped which is just a bit shite really.
  19. I wasn't that impressed by Six by Nico a couple of months back tbf, although when you factor in the price for the food alone it is pretty good I suppose. Got myself some whetstones the other day and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Getting a tomato out to slice through it like butter is one of the most satisfying things you can do
  20. I'd just break up with her now tbh mate
  21. Glad you got us all back on track to deliver that hard hitting original analysis
  22. There we go then, @Monkey Tennis's example is then quite confusing.
