  1. I wonder if the lack of fans is a reason why the board still seem happy with Stuart? Certainly if fans were in the grounds they'd tire of hearing the endless booing, but booing from your couch or kitchen table doesn't come across as easily. This sort of chat should probably be discussed on the Forfar thread instead. Doubt Falkirk fans care about Malcolm's charge of the Loons.
  2. Malcolm won't be sacked during the season. He may get his P45 at the end of the season, however, it's more likely he'll still be in the dugout come August. No rumblings of discontent from the board at all regarding Stuart Malcolm.
  3. A real shame Aberdeen didn't allow Forfar to extend MacKenzie's loan. He looked alright for us. If Malcolm brought Andy Munro back, maybe he'd bring Michael Kennedy back as well?
  4. I agree, slight improvement in Forfar's performance. Our best chance of a goal (albeit very slim) seems to be with Nditi and Murray linking up, but those runs appear to be hard to come by. Falkirk are just very clearly a better side.
  5. Aye that's true, Jordan Allan seems to have fallen down the pecking order, despite being our top scorer.
  6. Scott Fenwick starting on his debut for us. Will he provide any goal threat for the Loons? Probably no more of a threat than any of our strikers this season. Easy 3 points for Falkirk.
  7. Certainly nervy times for Sons fans, with such a threadbare squad. Thankfully they are playing Forfar who are so poor that even if Dumbarton don't have a man between the sticks it won't make too much difference since the Loons goal threat is about as dangerous as a Baxter the Bridie toy.
  8. Notice I said in time for the league restart, it was indeed a good and very kind gesture to stream it free, and I agree commentary wasn't necessary today, but it could improve the experience when competitive matches begin. Since League One was put on hold I have occasionally tuned into the Arbroath stream and their comms team are really good and entertaining. Maybe Forfar have tried to get commentary but there haven't been any suitable candidates. I'm sure there is a skill to commentating live sport, very different to chatting in the pubs like we did (and hopefully will do again soon). To sum up, I wasn't having a pop at Forfar Athletic TV merely a suggestion. All lower league clubs' streaming services have improved since last summer and will certainly continue to improve.
  9. Second half was better. But 0-0 full-time says it all. It would be really helpful if they could get a commentary team in place before the league restart.
  10. Very dull first half against Elgin. Didn't really expect anything else.
  11. Thanks for the confirmation, yeah, hopefully MacKenzie will return. Roberto Nditi, a complete unknown, hope he turns out to be a hidden gem and not a complete waste of time. Will he play for the club or sit on the bench behind Munro & Thomson? That's if the league ever resumes!
  12. I thought MacKenzie was the only loan player that stayed? Also, Flo Hoti is likely to return should the football league resume.
  13. Andy was a popular guy during his first spell, him coming back isn't the worst thing, although the contract length is surprising. He's the type of player that suits Malcolm's defending. Assume he'll be happy to warm the bench next season once Steven Anderson, Darren Whyte and Michael Travis are fit again. Will Grant Anderson help us out? We'll wait and see how he does, although it is interesting that a player deemed surplus to requirements in a Lowland league side is an "important" signing for us. I agree with many others on here and I did say it at the start of the season, we're very much preparing for a league 2 campaign next season.
  14. Looks like The Courier chatted to Martin Gray last week about life without football. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/scottish-league-1/1901785/loons-legend-forfar-athletic-groundsman-lifts-lid-on-lockdown-life-at-deserted-station-park/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social
  15. Didn't do much for us, but our defence was makeshift anyway. Think he needs another loan spell somewhere else, possibly a League Two club where he can get a consistent number of games.
  16. I think there are 2 Tweeters (is that the correct term?) on the club's Twitter. One of the directors does the official stuff and away matches. The home match tweeter is someone else, someone probably younger. For me I don't find a problem with the match-day Tweet updates, it's better to see a tweet saying (GOOAALL! FOXY!) Rather than (Goal 97' Fotheringham Forfar 2 - Linlithgow 1) We just haven't scored very often so these tweets aren't very common.
  17. Did we not learn that signing a player from Brechin always ends in a disaster! Especially an over the hill journeyman who has the speed and grace of a cargo ship!? Edit: and an 18 month deal at that!
  18. I think our heads would explode if that happened. Wonder who has shorter odds: Ouzy to score against Forfar Or Scott to score against Edinburgh
  19. Overall a decent performance from the Loons today. McCallum made a great save but was relatively untroubled, Rose's goal was just not clearing our lines in time. Meechs is a decent CB now, however, hopefully he'll be back to RB soon. Flo had his best game for us today and unlucky he didn't get a goal in the 1st half, excellent save from Rose' keeper to deny him. Muzza was playing with confidence and freedom, I always prefer him in the middle of the park, was almost a number 10 at times today trying to get Doris' layoffs. He took his goal very well. Shepherd out wide was unusual, I thought, but him and Barr were okay. Doris as a lone striker doesn't work for me, he was holding up the ball but nobody was around him, only Muzza a couple times. He needs a strike partner, someone like Allan. Talking of Jordan Allan, a penalty box striker, they weren't screamers but he was in the box and causing a danger, that showed with him grabbing an extra time brace. We all love Foxy and really glad he got his goal but as others have said Allan should've been on earlier and before Foxy. All in all, a much needed victory. It definitely wasn't a 4-1 victory but we did edge it over the 120'. Hopefully this'll give the players a bit of confidence and we can start collecting vital points in the league.
  20. True, that may well have been an important contributing factor. I'm not familiar with Hamish Thomson, anyone know what he's like? I'm sure he'll make his debut in the cup today.
  21. Very good point, despite us being atrocious this season Malky definitely hasn't lost the dressing room and there does seem to be a great team spirit. Maybe (this is very hypothetical) sticking with Malcolm long-term allowing him to build a project could work.
  22. Are we likely to sign any of these old men...I mean trialists?
