I remember it coming on STV news about Hearts getting this big £4 million investment from whatever that media company was called, roughly around 1999, and the Hearts immediately signing Gordan Petric.

He came on when they won at Rugby Park and did pretty well that night but Ayr fans were going on as if he was top drawer when in reality our shambolic defence was to blame for him looking like a player.

Don’t know why an attempt to compare 2 players, and using a player like Holt who was just a solid player himself, as a bad comparison. Let’s go with a better comparison. Hopefully this can give some better insight instead of just being accused of trolling. Maybe it’s my age and I missed the best of McAllister. So what about comparing him to Chris Burke? Was he a better player than Burke would you say? They must be looked at as similar types of players due to things like position, skill level, crossing etc?

Come back to me and tell me by what standard McAllister was a better player than Gary Holt and I’ll be all ears. A tricky wee winger, at best.

He was an average player at best. To give a Falkirk favourite as a comparison (especially considering they lined up on opposite sides in 97) he isn’t as good a player as Gary Holt. Different type of player and more skillful of course but nowhere near Holt in terms of his career.

It was against Hearts I believe and I seem to remember a lot of both sets of fans got stuck on the M8 for hours due to the weather so when you think about it like that it was pretty funny.

Based on the amount of trophies won by Celtic since Madden became a referee I would guess not very much.

I’m clearly in the minority but I like the name, although I don’t see the point in changing it unless you legally had to.. If for some reason we had to change our name from Kilmarnock FC to FC Kilmarnock it wouldn’t bother me too much.

Did anyone here go to any of the shows at the Hydro? Was it any good? Similar to a few others I quite liked the early days of Simon Ferry’s podcast with the interviews but I’ve never watched an episode of OG where it’s just Ferry, Slane and Kyle. I’m probably just a bit too old for the kind of “lads” banter that (I assume based on a few clips) they enjoy. If Ferry is serious about the full thing then fair play to him and I hope he goes onto have a good career but absolutely nobody can say that having your manager as the main sponsor (with his podcast name being part of the club name) is a good idea.
