  1. Western League relegation scrap Tytherington Rocks 1 Almondsbury 3 att around 100. Two quickfire 2nd half goals (pen and o.g) give Almonds the points in the driving rain, the Rocks see a pen saved around the hour mark, they worked hard but seldom threatened late on. Decent game, back to work TMRW
  2. Ha yeah some places away from the typical Bath that people see, old houses ok but not too snobby, Larkhall (Charlcombe) Twerton, Odd Down, Weston, etc. Not all Victorian Charles Dickens stuff
  3. Festive fun at ' Plain Ham' for southern League : Larkhall 2 Westbury 1 , the Larks did well to turn it round after a poor 1st half (01) in front of a bumper crowd (usually 100+) of 340. £9 with programme £1.
  4. Should be plenty of midweek games now that the bad weather has set in, plenty of p-p recently. The lights are up, now switch on ! Wonder if the Scots have many restrictions on light usage, how many games or how late they can stay on etc. ( several down south I think) Should be a good 2nd half of the season, see who can make a late push.
  5. Common sense should prevail, the women's game is only a slow burner, gathering some interest along the way. Equal pay for doing the same job ? Women can only get paid depending on how big their crowds become, lower spfl is part - time, any club needs to cut their cloth. International appearances, could this be a set % of the men's money ? or based on what revenues are brought in at games ? Any court ruling could blow the whole structure of the game apart.
  6. Biggest thing for me is - how do Saturday morning League teams manage to probably play on an afternoon ? Always thought the ammies played on a morning and then went to watch someone (spfl possibly) Good stuff, I hope to get in either Sat or Sun cup games when I return in February. Seasons Greetings from down south
  7. Don't like the 3g cages without any spectator facilities etc, tho it's probably the only way to progress in Scotland. Excellent crane work, another forum on its way soon ! Knew they played indoors at Toryglen, seen plenty outside at Oriam, but not indoors - my next challenge.
  8. Think there's something like Scottish football fixtures yolasite that gives amateur stuff as well , I use both to keep up to date when I visit, good luck.
  9. Yeah many happy years on the Tote End, Chelsea,Millwall, etc all had a go ! Just a different atmosphere with terraces, even with the faithful 7,000 towards the end. Now a sickening IKEA store on site.
  10. Born and bred in Bristol, dad took me to Eastville to watch Rovers, around 67/68, will die a Gashead. A mate at work took me to Spotland in the 80's, him supporting the shitheads and I went into the home end, a win for Rochdale and I was hooked ! Made loads of visits home and away until work made it impossible, happy supporting both clubs since.
  11. 50,000 at 1st team games, so obviously they don't care about the future (if some youngsters make it through) and only care for the OF games, pathetic. Would have expected around 4-500 at home, with a good 100+ travelling away, seems that doesn't happen. What if they ever let them into the spfl with shit crowds like that.Laughable.
  12. A chilly night for Hellenic Lge : Cribbs FC (once Sun Life FC) v Brimscombe & Thrupp 2-0 att 45. Decent game, two 2nd half goals enough to win it, slightly against the run of play. B&T lacked punch up front, but made a game v the now joint leaders..
  13. Ha that wasn't meant to happen, showing all the photos again - new technology beats the old man again Anyway glad you enjoyed Buxton !
  14. National League North.. Buxton v Banbury United. Pint for £3.00 in the bar and £3.00 for a Hot Dog. A hybrid pitch which looks perfect. Buxton fans buzzing at getting Ipswich away in the FA Cup, believe it will be their biggest game to date
  15. Going by the last few pages 'Crow' has had a busy few weeks ! Fair play getting to so many games, excellent photos as well. Also the Stranraer monthly paper/magazine an interesting idea rather than doing programmes, and possibly losing money.Keep it going Scots, aim to come back in February, fingers crossed (not literally with my arthritis)
  16. Elgin v Drum would be a good tv choice, showing a lower level club - would they be able to get a full strength side on a Friday or Monday, considering the distance. No idea why anyone would want to watch Celtic v Morton, if you're interested then you'd go to the game, surely ? LInlithgow the popular choice, decent ground etc.
  17. Western League Premier : Clevedon Town 2 Welton Rovers 1 att 102. Scrappy affair between two Somerset (ex) giants. Two goals from Archie Ferris settle the score, not greatest quality but plenty of effort at least. A lot of the Bristol and Somerset clubs struggling for support now that the old guys have died off, and youngsters are either playing or have other interests.
  18. Slow burner at Lesser Hampden, visited a few times. Are there plans to have any terracing - on either side I guess ? Different ideas at Ayr look good, again I hope they keep terrace unless told it's unsafe, by some jobsworth. Always interesting to see how clubs progress - unless they just bang seats onto the terrace which looks crap.
  19. Deveronhills is my guess. Visited Dyce couple of years back so good luck if they've put the work in, was a basic ground that I saw. What support do they / could they get ? Would be a good start to see some nrjfa clubs try and improve, hope the costs don't put them off.
  20. Didn't see the early k.o so only saw 2nd half of Almondsbury v Nailsea & Tickenham (Western div 1 ) 03 att 50 ish. Good stuff, tackles galore, saw two goals, both possibly could have been prevented. Visitors just come up from the Somerset County League and look a good side, currently 2nd place.
  21. Quite right, can see an influx of B teams over the next few years - and when they start winning the league, some clown will ask why they can't get promoted, another can of worms opening up.Cant see any benefit these teams have provided so far, expect they'll all be in the 1st teams now that they've played against grown men (wasn't that the idea ? )
  22. Should have made a ruling that all clubs with B teams would agree to pay an away following of 300+ to the hosts, whether they take that many or not. A small % of the OF regular 50,000 crowd. Get back in the reserve League.
