  1. Southgate under the hangman's noose, just play the strongest side, win the game and then make changes.Too much possession with no end result, boring shite. Least the Scots &Welsh give it a go, rather watch that. 3rd in world cup group a real possibility.
  2. The Lowland fiasco never stops giving, I just woke up and thought it was season 2030 only to find ALL colts teams in the Lowland - with another feeder league created below the spfl, above the HL and LL. Glad it was only a dream
  3. Take a look at the Scottish F.A licensing stuff, almost 200 pages of (mostly) mind boggling unwanted nonsense - you can clearly see why some clubs struggle.
  4. So the money laden big boys can't even play on their own grounds, thought Hearts would have made some effort. Pathetic, the quicker the Colts clear off to be replaced by decent non league clubs, the better. Hopefully Tranent can thump em all,my full respect to them. Any idea of AGM/ fixtures date ?
  5. Everything depends on how the clubs adapt, and whether their budgets get hit by being relegated. You probably have a strong 6+ clubs in the West, several in the East too - so maybe the spfl clubs have to swallow the pill and enjoy the non league ride for a few seasons, to hopefully come back stronger.
  6. No surprises with Hearts colts getting a look in, my biggest concern is having 3 teams in a league that cannot get promoted - I hope that every club below the Lowland gets an easy passage into the league, just like the colts. Money talks, has any colt/reserve side ever tried to get into the Highland League ?
  7. Hope that adrenaline and the feel good factor gives Bonnyrigg a chance to stay up, even if only for a few seasons. Albion possibly worried, but hopefully any club that has been loitering around the relegation zone for years finally gets their just rewards.
  8. Already seen Ryhope quit the Northern League due to lack of committee help - this possibly the biggest threat to all clubs seeking a license in Scotland. As mentioned on P&B, the ground etc is just a small part in getting licensed - as many committee people are getting older I hope younger folk step forward- for now and the future.
  9. Enjoyed watching the game on t.v , difficult with the club colours and the glare off the plastic ! Shocking offside decision to not give Yoker a goal, they ran out of steam come the end - especially after the first goal. Maybe one day a non league cup where the amateurs could play preliminary rounds etc ? Yes I know there's an Amateur Cup
  10. Will have to find the criteria required to get a license, some clubs seem better (ground wise) in their facilities etc. Well done to every club in their efforts and speed in getting things done. I take it for granted down south in step 6 upwards, really good the Scots are catching up. Work behind the scenes seems to be a regular sticking point, come on folks try and help.
  11. Not just the OF but I've always wondered why fans don't bother watching their youth & reserve teams - these kids are probably the future, aren't they ? That aside there are some decent crowds in the Lowland, compared to spfl2, if you can get 350+ at this level, well done everyone.Again well done Faceman and others, excellent work
  12. Again my memory fades, but I got off at Eskbank and took the approx 45 minute walk (depends on your legs) I'm sure there were at least 2-3 pubs before I got into the ground. Will definitely go back in 22/23 -liked the ground, about 4 years ago. If they can clear the 500 attendances that would be great.
  13. Excellent work by all of these clubs to gain their licenses, don't come cheap but every ground and beyond, have been improved for us, the fans. Now let's give them good support in 22/23.
  14. A pity that the Scots couldn't start the game, the way they ended. Go at them 100mph and get the first goal, but tbh the Ukraine had decent technical players, always causing a threat. Saying that, put a top quality spine in the team and it could look different, just can't carry players who don't perform on the day. Keep building with the youngsters who need the support.
  15. Thought it was the Ukraine you were playing, must be Lichtenstein then, my error.
  16. I'm putting the other stuff aside, and being an Englishman I want Scotland to win tonight ! All ready to sit down and get the TV on. Can imagine someone booing the Ukrainian anthem too, using their brain cells to capacity
  17. Just a quick question, any idea when the West fixtures are being compiled/released ? Also, would the Threave situation be down to where they draw their players from ?
  18. Being a southern fan, and having memories of Football Combination games many years ago - I can't understand why the Reserve set up in Scotland always looks doomed to failure. Why did the big boys seem so against this ? Was it money driven ? Why can't a 20-21 year old play in the first team ?
  19. Find this interesting to see possible new clubs, trying to find old/new grounds to build up to necessary criteria. As I'm not 100% in knowledge of old clubs etc, glad that the P&B members know so much ! Would be great to see old photos one day ! Keenly await my next trip north the end of July.
  20. Well done Tranent, thought that Darvel would do it this time - I'd expect it to become harder for Darvel over the coming seasons as other clubs push them all the way. What sort of crowds could Tranent get now ?
  21. Should be a cracker, wish I was up north to watch this one. Totally agree over both the champions going straight up - in the near future hopefully. I'll have a pop at Darvel 2-1 with around 5-600 crowd (wild guess)
  22. It's a slow burner, but before long the Lowland will resemble the National League down south, full of ex spfl clubs down on their luck. Hopefully the return to greatness can be more straightforward than the need for play-offs etc. Two up and down would be good, at least the relegated clubs would see a path back to the spfl. Good luck to Cowden, hope the fans stick around in decent numbers.
  23. Yeah bit like a mini Eastville Stadium (BRFC) with the speedway, greyhound track around the outside. Those were the days. Good luck to Cowden next season, with proper planning and recruitment, maybe you'll have a good time.
  24. Just a quick selfish chat, am trying to sort my next visit to Scotland, would the wosfl possibly be starting by end of July ? as I'd like to book up fast and cheap asap !
