  1. Impressed with the growing set up, add some cover over the seats- maybe some terracing under the covers in the future ? Benburb fully deserved the 02 score, should have been more except for some good saves, especially in the first half. The Buffs seldom threatened, unable to get numbers forward or retain the ball for long enough. Some older heads may knit the side together better, and give some leadership, can see why goals are hard to come by. Easy for the visitors to just sit back at times.
  2. Decent game with an excellent atmosphere, StPats had best of the chances -missing a penalty along the way. A soft 2nd yellow saw them down to 10 men around 70 mins, but they kept competing well. Game ends 00 with the Saints winning pens 8-7, with the Glenburn gk missing his chance after all eleven had taken a penalty.
  3. Hopefully I will be at Hamilton tomorrow, to catch last season's ? West Scotland Cup Final : StPats v Glenburn @ 730. Both clubs have 2 buses of support going along, apparently. Looking forward to a good night.
  4. I am back in Bristol on sunday but I'd say watch The Gas at Salford, we always take a good away support even at L2 level. You'll get to see Joey Bartons rants on the touchline if nothing else !
  5. Glad I made it to the game, only seen John Sheridan a couple of times - highly respected, a Beith legend. Excellent game, some funny moments, a good turn out, maybe 200+ ? and played in a really good spirit. A brilliant programme, sums the guy up going by the contributions. Good luck in whatever you do in the future.
  6. Blantyre 0-3 today, firstly a big thanks to everyone who tidied the ground up - was a tip on my last visit ! Two cracking shots and a penalty that shouldn't have happened, for the goals. Hardworking display, especially the no.7, but really lightweight up front. Maybe chuck the no.6 up front when the 2nd goal went in, nothing to lose. Showed some character but Cumbernauld the better side and always a threat. Good start to my week up north.
  7. That looks good, fills in my blank Sunday as I return to Scotland for a week - hopefully weather holds up. Now looking for tomorrow somewhere to start things off !
  8. You would like to think that even clubs at the bottom are ambitious,to some point, so they'd naturally progress and improve as they go along. Somewhere down the line those with ambition and money and assistance will surely rise. Biggest problem imo is getting enough volunteers when the current old guys can't do it any longer.
  9. Wouldn't mind seeing some more cover at Pollok, opposite the other side - not sure where they could squeeze any seats into the ground, behind the goals ? Well done to Rutherglen on going for a licence, really good how most clubs have grasped the move into Senior football, with the improvements being done.
  10. Won't be perfect, but incredible progress for the Buffs to get the ground sorted, with more cover planned. Will have to pay another visit, I know that stepped terracing and 'proper' stands are expensive - so well done so far. Comparing grounds to say 3 years ago shows massive improvement, brilliant.
  11. Going by how many clubs have installed the Pleasure Lamps, there can't have been many NIMBY situations, for the sake of a few night matches I can never see the arguments against. Great to see so many going for licenses, shows the clubs have taken the pyramid seriously. Taken the Scots a while, but it's great news for all fans.
  12. I don't get to see or read much news from up north, but was there any talk of other spfl clubs wanting their colts, youth, reserve teams to get into the spfl ? Would have thought having two more Old Firm sides in the league likely to upset other clubs. Non league clubs must have priority to climb the league's pyramid surely ?
  13. Looking forward to watching the game, with the ground capacity, any news on more ground improvement in the future ? Going for a 2-2 draw.
  14. No interest in the O.F , the entire spfl reserve/academy thing is a shambles. As far as I know, reserve teams aren't allowed in the spfl (maybe wrong) If the big boys won't play youngsters in the 1st team, then let them prosper somewhere else. Are the OF going to be in the Lowland again next season ?
  15. Think the South has a future for these clubs, can't see many wanting to join the WOSFL or progressing too far up the pyramid. Similar to the County Leagues down south - the jump up is too far and costly, while the players enjoy staying local.
  16. Thanks, do use the WordPress quite a bit, very useful. When I download the EOS my old tablet won't open the file. Will keep looking at both the Lowland and EOS websites for updates. Used to enjoy the West Youth stuff on a Sunday (Troon etc) but that seems to have gone. Trying to fill my next week in November with as many games as poss. (October saw me get 7 games)
  17. What a shambles, we may not know all the facts but this one stinks. Feel sorry for the players and management, who if are unpaid, deserve credit for their results so far. How many games can they p-p if they have no players ? and would the WOSFL make an example of them, regarding future postponements ?
  18. Where can I find these under 20 fixtures and venues ? Maybe my lack of keyboard skills, but couldn't find it on the WOSFL website probs right in front of my eyes !
  19. Hopefully those new signings don't all come from Penicuik's under 20 squad, thus decimating them. Good luck to the new boy, would be nice just to see the Vale competing at least. Seems the club have made mistakes, hope that's in the past now - no real benefit struggling year after year.
  20. Looking forward to the draw as I'm back up in Scotland November 13-21st, so if some games can be played on the Friday as well, then I'll be happy ! I like the cup seeing as there are quite a few rounds before the final itself, not the old Junior Cup, but definitely worth winning imo. Do the winners get into the Scottish Cup or anything ?
  21. Always thought that when the 'big' games arrive, then all parties should do their best to stick them on terrestrial tv - this is where the £ comes into it, as Wily E.Coyote said when offering a pittance for a half decent Scottish cup game. I saw the 2nd half and then later on Sportscene, too late for me usually. Sky - we hate it, we love it. Money talks sadly.
  22. Last game of the week : Ardrossan 2 Drumchapel 3 just like last week, Rovers got caught at the death after looking like getting a point. Drumchapel had players who had/could play at a higher level but were made to work hard by the constant harassment from the home side. Unlucky for the o.g defender couldn't do much about it, but time and again 'Chapel had free headers inside the box, always a threat. Really decent game, and a good ground and set up.
  23. Agree, had the gift of the own goal but Shippy rarely threatened until late on. The two quick goals did the job, especially that cracker from way out. Lochore looked good going forward, always likely to score again, while the hosts didn't look a cohesive unit - chasing long balls too often. Decent game, must have been 150+ in the ground.
  24. Most teams that I've seen, who are cast adrift, usually have local youngsters who clearly aren't up to the level. Unless you find £ to throw around, which doesn't last forever, swallow your pride and go down. Can't see the joy of perennial strugglers getting beaten by 10+ scorelines. Will try to see the Vale this season.Good luck in the games ahead.
  25. Thanks, thought that it was both. Both clubs can't have any complaints then, should be a warning to other clubs - points deducted or cup ejections may not matter, bang the fines up to hurt clubs.
