  1. Think there's only so much you can do in being called Glasgow something, an attempt to attract new fans and sponsorship ? A loss of identity but will it be long before they revert back, I wonder. Can understand if the club links with a youth team etc or gets a big sponsor.
  2. My only thoughts are I wish I was up in Scotland this week , a boring week off so far ! Would have done Darvel or Hurlford, both new grounds for me. Go and enjoy in big numbers then, dead jealous.
  3. Guess it's a % of capacity then,. would have imagined that the tickets were sold prior to the game ? What happens if say 700 turn up hoping to get in ? A cracker to start things off, is the game being streamed at all ?
  4. Fortunately I've never witnessed any trouble in Scotland, guess it only needs a spark to see people react. Don't need these problems at this level, think of the few volunteers who run the clubs, not fair on them. Good luck with the new season around the corner, enjoy the beer and enjoy the games.
  5. Because of the ease of travel I've neglected the EOS apart from a few games, will try to get back to Aberdeen/Edinburgh to give it a go ! Brilliant that the licenses are being reached thick and fast. Remember things are mostly done by volunteers, so please help out if you can.
  6. Good luck and you'll enjoy every minute, I try to see a few things apart from the 90 minutes when I travel. Probably not going down to the basic roped off pitch standard myself, but you have a few good years ahead ! Am looking forward to seeing many ground improvements since my last visits.
  7. Be interesting to see the referees report eh, the video isn't too clear but once you get fans on the pitch (at this level) then you're asking for trouble. Was this trouble between both clubs, or just a meeting place for something else ?
  8. Shame that clubs are folding, going into abeyance, finding it hard just to find volunteers on matchdays etc. These clubs need help, please try all you can - it's time-consuming but better than losing clubs.
  9. Fully expect every ground requirements are part of ground grading, just like down south. Many clubs have facilities to accommodate 2-300 etc when they only attract 50. Can understand the need for rules, but think some leeway should be given to clubs, costly improvements. Put up lights then have no midweek games, ludicrous.
  10. Well done to Darvel and every club that has made loads of improvements especially for US the fans. Taken a while for Scottish clubs to be stirred, tremendous progress. Particularly like the installation of the Pleasure Lamps
  11. Christ sake is that for real ? No idea what the fans are like, but that's ridiculous. Will the club (s) get hammered for this shameful event ? Scum, bring back the gallows . Hopefully the official makes a full recovery asap.
  12. Rumour is that clubs will happily take a brown envelope full of cash, stuff the supporters, no long term strategy, obey the OF threats/promises, forget the integrity of the game, only a rumour of course This crap seems to have gone on for years, go away to some Super League please.
  13. They've tried hard to make this cup seem exciting / interesting, changes galore again. Why not just keep the Scottish Cup and the the Premier Sports thing ? Be preferable to have some more league games tbh. Can't imagine many fans will bother to turn up, like the Mickey Mouse cup down south.
  14. If you're good enough then you're old enough, get the 18-20 yr olds in the first team and get on with it. Colts in spfl2 won't gain much, the odd starlet may get through. Why not put everyone's Colts in an spfl3 oh yeah just like the reserve league they keep fu**ING up Bin the whole idea before it's too late.
  15. I take it for granted down south from step 6 upwards, but to see so many Scottish clubs with possible lights, cover and seating available, is excellent stuff. Glad that clubs can find the £ along with grants etc in these difficult times. A pyramid in place and clubs modernising, well done to all clubs involved.
  16. Excellent stuff to see so many clubs obtain their licences after working hard, some things ain't cheap and there is always opposition to floodlights etc. All over a benefit to us fans with better facilities, let's use them in good numbers. Can't wait to return North in October, I hope.
  17. Would prefer to see the three champions clubs have a straight knock out with the HL bottom 3, winner takes all. Old fashioned I know, just like to see champions get a deserved promotion. Too many clubs continually finish around the bottom with no real chance to improve, need to find a level. At least ambitious clubs are starting to see a pathway, albeit slowly.
  18. Think the integrity of the game must be retained, every non league club must see an opportunity to scale the ramparts into the spfl - then to play every game with 3 pts at stake, with promotion or relegation on offer. Having colts teams doesn't mean they will all reach the 1st team, going out on loan must be preferable.Sadly the ££ may play a part in swaying clubs minds.
  19. Think the OF and other big clubs need to be asked why the reserve/youth/academy structure seems to fail every season. Because there are loads of fans watching non league, are many of these players good enough to step up to spfl championship/1 level ? Clubs can't be bothered to put in 5-6 years work on a youngster anymore, preferring to buy over-priced foreigners, who usually fail. Bin the colts.
  20. Glasgow Nomads, location unknown. Sometimes ambition (dreams) don't match reality, difficult to see how to attract new support in some areas. Good luck anyway, good intentions etc.
  21. Are Kilwinning at the ground next to the 3g cage, where I saw a game last time I visited. Didn't think there was much room for movement tbh, must have had some big changes since then. Sounds like they've worked wonders.
  22. Will take a look at the Midlands League next, at least the clubs are serious about being licensed and progressing. Would be good to get 2 months of midweek games to get crowds along. One bugbear with every non league in the UK - why do you run with an odd number of clubs ? No real reason in my simple mind
  23. The only possible solution I've read on P&B is the one where the OF piss off into an amazing Atlantic/European/North Sea/Icelandic BIG league, where they might get more £ - leaving their colts to play in the spfl. Would only be possible if the OF never got relegated back down. I'll raise the bar up to 5 Scots in every starting line up - agree with the Honest man.
  24. Apart from the obvious greed from some spfl clubs, it needs change from the top - to allow Colts or B teams into the league. If you apply NO relegation, then the games are all friendly with nothing at stake. Make academies work, 3 Scots guarantee in a starting 11, those out on loan should be learning quickly, it's up to the clubs 100% to make reserve football work.
