  1. Hopefully all of the new clubs will be accepted into the WOSFL, and because of the pandemic etc maybe they'll get possibly a 1 or 2 years grace to get grounds up to scratch. (If required) All new clubs and grounds for me to visit and enjoy - asap - must get to read up on these clubs. Excellent stuff.
  2. Now that the West have gone Senior, leaving few juniors behind - couldn't the Amateur and SJC be merged for clubs at lower levels ? Only an idea. Guessing clubs would enter either Amateur/Junior ora Senior Cup, or maybe just get rid of the terminology used ? Just glad that all clubs survive and manage to play football, at whatever levels.
  3. Just why didn't the SFA or SPFL say 'if 50% of games are played (at any level) then PPG WILL be used if necessary,to announce promotions and relegations. Make the decision and make it simple. Being based down south,do fans think Brechin would win any play offs at the moment ? Maybe playing games will have an advantage over HL/LL clubs.
  4. Interesting mileage stuff, guess movement up the league's would like to coincide with a generous sponsor,to cover extra costs. Be good to see what improvements have been made to various grounds during lockdowns. With the extra mileage, I wonder if travelling times (there and back) play a part in players signing, especially part timers.
  5. Guess reality says 'dont promote or relegate' after a part season unless PPG has been agreed. We need to have champions straight up, two down from the spfl2. IF clubs see a massive opportunity to bounce back immediately, then maybe they'll be more agreeable to change. Hopefully next season will see a full set of fixtures played - no grumbles about finishing bottom
  6. Once the pyramid gets going, with possible play offs into the Highland and beyond - are there many clubs from the HL downwards, who could actually push on ? Needing financial, a fan base (possibly) and meeting ground criteria (eventually)
  7. Guess it's only fair to give an extension, in order to get work done. Must be hard during the pandemic getting workers and materials. Hopefully the majority will be licensed asap, a real bonus for the fans. Admittedly the costs will be out of reach for some clubs - don't blame them for holding back.
  8. Wouldn't surprise me if the spfl decided to accept both Kelty and Brora, extending spfl2 for next season only - just to use the no relegation situation, thus avoiding possible legal actions etc. Just hoping next season goes properly, giving the spfl board time to get organised.
  9. Almost European Super League with no relegation guaranteed, not against spfl2 being increased, but definitely put both the HL/LL champions up straight away - if that means 2 going down then so be it. Gets boring when clubs don't accept when they are crap, just reform and fight your way back up. Do Berwick keep moaning ?Being down south I don't know if they do.
  10. Interesting to see the English non league taking the results of the last 2 seasons to announce tables (step 5 downwards) and the forthcoming reshuffle. No gripes with any clubs, but when you continually finish bottom or close,it's almost back to the re-election farce of the old days, why shouldn't you go down ?
  11. Guess most clubs going up the pyramid would have to weigh up the increased costs and probable rise in wages, in the spfl. Say 4-500 crowds X £10 (at least) Just hope that the bigger Scottish Cup crowds return to watch the normal league games. Depends on whether the squad is part time.
  12. Last piece of the English non Lge pyramid jigsaw hopefully, to cut down travelling ? When is the WOSFL AGM, when we can finally see any new teams, grounds etc being announced. Fingers crossed that next season goes ahead ok for everyone.
  13. Imagine in say 5 years when every ex junior club gets licensed, good luck to everyone, and hello to all the armies of volunteers queuing up to help - moving up the leagues needs more help behind the scenes, not just on match day.
  14. Think talk of the so called Super League has been going on, behind closed doors, for a while now. Probably coincides with rumours of the OF Colts again, IF the OF had been asked about the Super Lge of course. Just something about modern football that says ' we can buy anything we want' attitude that's sickening. Wonder if every pro club had colts teams in lower leagues ? Frightening.
  15. Good luck to all clubs chasing a license, thus improving grounds for fans' benefits in the long term - and showing that they are working correctly behind the scenes. Can only be good for the Scottish game getting the pyramid up and running. Hopefully I can return North in September and November
  16. My only complications with (my idea) of straight two up and down, is when the majority of spfl clubs are from southern regions - can't all go into the Lowland can they ? On admissions, I think that the spfl downwards need to have a rethink on costs regarding people's income etc. Maybe £10 in spfl2 a maximum to keep fans interested ? About time the bigger ex juniors started climbing upwards.
  17. Just my opinion of new clubs trying to enter leagues without their own facilities, that's all. Don't mind a two year stint while they do their own grounds up etc. If a club loses its ground, but can share in its vicinity, then fair enough, that's a different argument.
  18. Think most ex juniors would have a break even attendance figure when they reach the spfl, I'd expect a need for 300+. With the two up and down in place ( I'm dreaming) then the spfl clubs would possibly see a swift return within 2 seasons - something they're scared of at the moment. Years in the wilderness with less fans =less income etc. I'd go for someone reaching the Championship at best in years to come.
  19. Amazing to hear that some clubs won't like travelling too far - maybe the catchment area needs to be enlarged ? Imagine in the pro game : we don't want to go to Glasgow etc ( maybe fair enough argument) but it would never happen. The league are in charge, and the clubs should have to stick by the rules. Good luck to all new clubs in a bright new future.
  20. Definitely promising to see clubs help each other- a real bonus is that the Scottish FA allow 3g pitches to be used, unlike the idiots down south. Think that a 2 year maximum grace period is enough for new entrants to get grounds fit for purpose, you're in serious football now, don't enter if you're not ready or able to cope. Ground sharing ok but not long term.
  21. Guessing that the ML will be in place by 21/22, and that the boundary lines have probably been sorted/agreed. There will always be clubs from difficult areas with clubs unhappy about travelling (to play football) . Hopefully the pyramid will settle down fairly quickly to include a clear pathway for ambitious amateurs etc. Hypocrisy, double standards, sounds like any football committees since year dot.
  22. Lets go the whole way, champions of both HL and LL promoted without play offs - 2 down from the spfl. Maybe if club42 sees a swift return on the horizon, they'll be more willing to change current rules. Personally I can see 5 ex juniors in spfl2 within 10 years, and coping well.
  23. Too many clubs down south are hanging by the thread of generous sponsors, whilst attracting less than 100 for a decent level. Guess any youth clubs who move upwards, need the backing of parents, friends etc more than ever. It's an exciting time ahead for the WOSFL, but we don't want to lose any clubs along the way. Hope the finances don't cripple any one.
  24. Guess the only safe way out of this would be to not relegate anyone, if PPG means someone goes up - it's not great I know, we just have to write this season off and hopefully return much better for 21/22. If all adults get jabbed twice by August, and people get tested regularly, then I think we should just give it a go. No answer that suits everyone, again.
  25. Yeah I realise that, just trying to see a way of keeping the SJC going IF its needed. Seems a cock up having Senior clubs playing in a Junior Cup that's all. Will the retaining of 'junior' status be at a certain tier downwards ?
