  1. How does the portable goal situation work in senior and the spfl ? As I'm guessing that on every 3g pitch, all goals are of the portable type ? I maybe wrong of course.
  2. Suppose we have to credit the club in getting a game on, any hope of it being streamed, shown live etc ?
  3. I was jumping on another post about the current East/North current junior clubs and the possibility of another league being set up to cater for that side of Scotland. Think all the West clubs will be happy to progress toward the spfl promised land !
  4. Looks similar to the EFL/National League down south - you need the spfl lge2 clubs to see that relegation doesn't mean years in the wilderness v stronger clubs trying to take their place. That's where a solid pyramid holds up - may take a while for it to all fall into place. Guess if the majority of clubs eventually get licensed, it may speed things up ?
  5. So long as the WOSFL eventually runs normally, then I imagine some of the juniors would be interested in moving upwards - if they can see progression without crippling costs involved. Guess that IF the clubs move up, then they'd have to accept longer travelling ?
  6. Down here in Bristol (tier 3) we've had games still going on, with max crowds of 150. All contact details taken etc, other leagues looking at a Jan 16 return. My honest opinion says shut down until February, then maybe return if players get tested - would be great to have say a £30 test, so you can keep playing.
  7. Heard the new variant is being found around Europe now, rather than an assault on the Cockney sort. The Contagion thing on CNN is interesting viewing. Even with enough vaccines Inthe freezer, gonna take months for a double dose to be administered in the UK. Does everyone think fans will get back in this season ? Am growing more pessimistic myself.
  8. Regardless of what the players are getting paid - hopefully there's quite a bit of work done on the ground since my last visit, 2018. Well done on the floodlights, amazing how many clubs are getting lit up - get midweek games with the fans back in ! ! PS just get games played anywhere this season eh.
  9. Not sure of the licensing requirements but what else would Clydebank have to get done in time ? Cover, grandstand seating etc ? Thought some of the LL grounds to be fairly basic tbh, maybe I've been spoilt down south too much.
  10. Would be interesting to see how many clubs are keen on playing in the summer months - maybe feeding into a winter league/set up ? That would put an end to the dreaded pre-season ! Guess it all depends on player availability whenever they play, I always signed on and never missed a game on sat/sun
  11. Can't really see the problem with getting two relegated tbh, only going to make the LL stronger. Now the ex Juniors have joined the bandwagon it's only fair to give them opportunities to progress upwards. Hopefully in time, clubs find their level where they can compete.
  12. Excellent work to keep the scores coming through, and glad to see quite a few games getting played in the Scottish weather. More pics of ladders on the horizon I'd guess !
  13. Think clubs need to evaluate where they are, no offence to any of them, but why continue in a league where you always finish in the bottom 5 or 6 with little threat of relegation ? Hopefully the LL will soon be a strong league, with every club able to compete on a good level AND be ambitious to progress.Apart from the spfl play offs with club 42 etc - every league winner should look to move upwards.
  14. Hopefully the weather behaves and we get many more games played - difficult to say whether it's a crap pitch or dreadful weather sometimes let's not forget that these people are volunteers - not armies of groundskeepers helping out.
  15. Oh dear the SFA hypocrisy rears its head again. They make rules, just stick to them, every club knows the result of making mistakes. Good luck Whitehill, you can't appeal ? Pathetic. Thought bullying was for the playground
  16. Twitter said training lights ? They look ok to me, brighter than some that I've seen. Another step in the right direction, can't wait to get some evening games under my belt.
  17. Had the same argument down south as the National League 'big boys' started crying when they felt they should get more of the money. Basing everything on say average attendances may help, haves and the have nots again. Suppose if every club gets the same amount, then maybe that helps.
  18. May not be the greatest amount, but at least the grants are better than loans - spfl clubs maybe able to repay in the near future, non league clubs probably just need help at the moment. Hope fans can get to see this season end, get back into the grounds.
  19. Think in all honesty if there are grants etc available to clubs, the one statement must apply : this mustn't be used to pay wages. I'm sure it's needed for other areas. (Officials, electric, water bills) Question I'd ask is 'which clubs do we want to save ? ' bet you'll get differing reactions to that.
  20. Always difficult but I've seen many games without linesmen, and the players seem to get used to the referee having sole control - less arguing over offsides etc. Think the £100+ expenses is hard for many clubs to bear, how about paying the club officials to do it may not cheat so much !
  21. Many clubs down south are going through the same, getting hammered every week. When you have players chasing the £ and they're thinly spread, then some clubs suffer. Keep going Ardeer, give the kids support or they maybe lost to the game forever.
  22. Excellent knowledge Santheman, good insight into how clubs feel about things at the moment. Think a lot of clubs down south have tried to adapt, but can't control the protocols and fans 100%. Hopefully we can all return safefully asap and maybe get to see the season end.
  23. Personally I don't think so, if fans had been allowed to attend , then I believe all clubs would have started the season.
  24. What a cracker of a festive break, let the fan's in ! ! Hopefully the midweek games will be a regular thing in the future - can't wait to get back up north. Fingers crossed the fans return asap.
  25. In my humble, worth little, opinion I think all clubs had a season off for finances only - unable to see when fans were coming back. made that easy. I firmly believe that a good % of clubs have spent money on grounds because they are ambitious to reach a higher level. Ex Juniors can see the LL in the distance, good luck to everyone.
