That's good news, is tomorrow's friendly definitely going to be on ? Could be a day out in Dunbar with a game as well - ScotRail permitting of course !

Any idea when the p-p South Challenge Cup games are going to be replayed ? Would they be next weekend ?

Off to Wishaw today for FC Pather v Kincorth, cracking game with the home gk playing a blinder, scoring two pens and saving 3 in the shoot out. Must have been around 100, often on the pitch ! Fairly good standard, the ref had his faults, really enjoyed that one. 2-2 3-0 on pens to Pather.

Harestanes 1 Fallin 4 HT 03. Decent start to my week in Scotland, dreadful weather but an entertaining game. Fallin first to the ball and quicker to react in the first half, taking their chances to kill the game. Harestanes got back into it 13, but never seriously threatened a comeback. Decent standard with around 75 in attendance.

Can only hope that the majority of 3g cages don't pass the criteria then, no facilities for supporters etc. Didn't realise that the 'promotion locked ' situation existed, glad that some common sense maybe applied. Be interesting how many clubs can turn basic fields/pitches into something worthwhile then.

Absolutely no problem with temporary ground sharing IF plans for their own ground are in place, with a time limit. Question : could a club go from (ex) junior all the way through the spfl - ground sharing all the way ? Again it's spending on wages rather than a ground. Can fully understand if league's aren't totally happy.

Guess I'm seeing things from a southern perspective, where every league that has lights seems to have a good run of midweek fixtures. Amazes me that even the SPFL don't have many games under lights tbh, so at non league level I guess that lights are only for Saturday games when the light fades.

Hopefully I can get in one of these games when I get up to Glasgow that weekend, public transportation permitting. Drumchapel possibly, looking interesting, can't wait !

What does infrequent mean ? Pointless putting lights up and then hardly using them. All that outlay for possibly 1 Scottish Cup game per season - come on locals, buy some blackout curtains eh

To be fair, it's the financial outlay which maybe met by grants etc and fund raising, but long term, every club needs a good committee AND an army of volunteers to keep it going. Hopefully the youngsters will slowly replace the older folk - only if they have the time,of course ! Amazed by the ongoing improvement in Scotland's grounds.

That knocked a few games p-p then, seeing the snow etc. Am taking a gamble in returning to Scotland the week starting February 5th - just hope I can get some games in across the week. Awaiting an announcement on crowds etc, fingers crossed

When the play-offs are 'extra' promotion spots, I'm in favour of them. I think there's a decent argument to say 'win your league, you go up. Finish bottom you go down'. But in smaller leagues or where two leagues go into one, having play-offs gives more to play for.
How about HL champs v LL to replace spfl club 42 - the losing side then play club 41 in a two legged shoot out ! Keeps the interest and gives the lower clubs something to aim for. Can understand your point about two into one situation. Only problem is when every club42 (who gets relegated) is based in the southern area, what happens then ?

Just a quickie, what is the obsession with endless play offs etc ? (not just Scotland) play a season, win the league, get promoted. Sounds simple. You've been shite all season, get down to a level that you can compete in. Get both the HL and LL champions up without play offs. How about a spfl of 4 X 12 with 2 up and down all the way ?

Maybe one day the spfl will grow to 44 clubs, allowing the guaranteed relegations without any need for play offs etc. The quicker clubs go down and get replaced with HL, LL champions the better. Stinks of the old football league days of voting club 92 back in, year after year, despite them being crap.

Sure that there is someone out there who could run the site, NLS was the complete guide and helped me so much. If it came to the costs, we could all contribute to keep it going.

Really good updates on the Phase 1 ,thanks for explaining it ! Hopefully the season can be completed and the pyramid can slowly take shape
Was planning a return in February but not 100% now that the virus has taken hold. Good luck everyone and enjoy the festivities

Is the Phase 1 an after effect of league restructures, when clubs were split into groups ? (Think I read it somewhere) hope all Scottish league's reach a decent number of games played - no more lockdowns please, the clubs have done really well to get this far - then get completed asap.

Give it say 5 years and I think loads will be updating or building new terrace, seating, possibly installing lights too. All basics for step 6 down south, but absolutely brilliant for everyone in Scotland. Long live the pyramid
and ambitious clubs.(and volunteer army)

Where can you get highlights from last night's game ? Admittedly I haven't looked very far just yet, getting lazy

Just out of interest, when does the West restart having midweek games (trying to arrange another holiday) Hopefully everyone says February ! Does this depend on a bad winter regarding p-p games ?

Definitely one ground that I won't be visiting, be a shame if any clubs decide to go there. Is that a redevelopment really ? Shambles.

Terrible pictures, was the bad weather widespread ? Hope we can all pull together to help a great little club recover asap.

All reminiscent of the old English F.A when re-election for the bottom div 4 club kept out many imposters, luckily after many years the pyramid remains - the strength of the National League shows that. Instant promotions will show spfl clubs that they can return fairly quickly, if they're good enough. The new blood will flow through , giving Talbot and the like, a chance to progress.

Problems with weather and trains, I ended up at the Clydebank Hub for Youth Cup u18 : Drumchapel Amateurs v Clydebank 2-3 aet. Despite having the forward red carded for a stupid foul, the Drum battled well to stay in the game and eventually grab the winner late on. Primarily a Gaelic football set up, it took me a while to follow the blue lines without my glasses ! Decent game for the hardy few, nice set up in clubhouse.

Just back from a windy Dunbar, decent game in the conditions. Good fightback from the home side, the Handling brothers both finding the net. Chances at both ends, the usual number of subs in the 2nd half, and a good turn out, must have been 150 at least. Enjoyable stuff, are there any plans for ground improvements in the future ?
