  1. 5th oldest iirc. I haven't played the medal for years. The par 5 on the front nine must have been a terrifying proposition 30 years ago before the original tee fell into the North Sea. Still a serious golf course on a windy day though. 16 and 17 back into the wind are hilariously difficult. The 16th at Montrose is my favourite long par three anywhere in the world (over 200yds) Around 235yds with a wonderfully undulating green which I have seen four and five putted. I play in the Tassie at Carnoustie pretty much every year and dont get the hype about the 16th hole there - indeed, I would say its my least favourite hole on the entire course (the 13th being the best par three by a long way) The 17th at Montrose is a great hole but incredibly tough into the wind. OOB comes into play with your tee shot and then it is typically a fairly lengthy shot to the raise green - pull it left (as I often do when trying to force a long iron) and its in the gorse. I believe Anders Forsbrand went into aforementioned gorse in 1999 qualifying and got a 15.
  2. You might want to try Monifieth - I love that course (as well as Panmure - but lot more difficult to get on) I would definitely play Montrose before Arbroath
  3. and the news that the VIP lane for Covid related contracts is deemed illegal. Although it was entirely appropriate to fast track Matt Hancocks pub landlord and for Michelle Mone to promote a company that she hadnt even incorporated....I'll make sure they exist tomorrow if thats ok with you...but please award them multi-million pound contracts as we are loading the plane in China as I speak.....
  4. the government acted as if it could have happened
  5. Is this the BBC offering advice to all viewers on how to approach an impending court case - "Now faced with a civil lawsuit in the US, Prince Andrew's best option is to settle, our royal correspondent Jonny Dymond " what if your mummy doesnt happen to have a gold hat and lots of money?
  6. I think you will find the words "likely" and "could" have very different meanings.
  7. You are the self-proclaimed richest club in the world and your second signing is Chris Wood? Hope Dykes stays at QPR and gets a good few goals to get them into the play-offs - that would be a real success.
  8. I was trying to think who the Stoke City striker was who came on against Moldova....not exactly long ago but still had to do a google search - Jacob Brown - doesnt look like a great option really, - only 5 goals this season. Incidentally Ewan Urain of Bilbao B - what a name. Favourite band - Duran Duran?
  9. My w/kg is 2.5 which is really annoying because I get left for dead in the C's but I've been DQd from a couple of D's. Zwift is great over winter though. I thought I was mental getting a wattbike but it's superb. I did a Category D race the other night where my average was 247w and 2.8kg/w and I came in 13th - only the top two had a higher average wattage (winner was 283w) I can stay with the leading group until we come to anything over a 4% gradient then I tend to fall away (even though I push it in hard my weight means I fall back) and its pretty impossible to catch-up again. Started going out on my mountain bike at weekends to add a bit of variety and really enjoying it - although obviously routes are still very restricted with most forrests still closed off following storm Arwen. Bought new lights and may try going out on local routes at nights soon.
  10. Nope an 11 year old golf with 100k on the clock but good guess
  11. Your 24/7 obsession with this thread has just become too much for you hasn't it? Take some time off
  12. Unbelievably dodgy - why is this not all over the Scottish News? (rhetorical question) So this company fullfiled a couple of PPE orders and made a profit of £40m - orders only placed after apparent lobbying through the fast lane by Mone herself. I absolutely detest that woman, she represents all that is wrong with Scottish tories.
  13. Great that you are so well informed on this. What is the real figure?
  14. I watched the Meet the Candidates programme on the iPlayer before this came on....I was actually quite shocked that these were the real candidates as I assumed the earlier programme was a spoof. When did they last have a Scottish candidate? They always seem to have one American and one from Ireland but none from Scotland (or Wales)
  15. There was a lassie at college who had enormous boobs.......we called her Three Jugs A bloke with bad acne - Pizza Puss
  16. McInnes clean shaven - very decent manager, we are fortunate to have him McInnes with a beard - jeeso this is utter shite fitba, he's past his sell by date
  17. I dont have any salt in the house. I did have a few years ago but that was to stop slugs sneaking under my back door
  18. That only works if he gives up on the "who, no idea, never ever met her in my life" tactic
  19. So which one is he from the P&B Covid thread?
  20. It's all going to end in tears isn't it. Short term sponsorship deals with local breweries, part-time jobs (for four months?) and exciting new revenue streams like a local lottery (suspect that will not be the xuccess they hope)...I still dont get it. They must be picking up un-attached and unemployed lads who are probably not even getting a game for their local north west counties amateur team.....what's in it for them? No budget boost Despite the influx of players who will be committing a great amount of time to Fort, Trew says the playing budget at Claggan Park has not been increased. “The playing budget is exactly the same as what the old manager had,” he said. “But behind the scenes the board and committee are accessing revenue streams and raising money that wasn’t there before. “For the playing budget nothing has changed – it’s still being done on a shoestring. “But we’re hoping to raise more revenue by being more active in the community and getting the community to support us.” New streams of income To increase revenue Fort William have been seeking player sponsors and have also started a club lottery. Trew said: “It all makes a difference and it all adds up. We’re getting player sponsors again. “When was the last time that was done at the club?
  21. I think I posted similar on the petty things thread several months ago. Don't think you hear Scottish commentators say it to be fair but loads of the English ones......"the keeper just about kept it out"....eh, he did keep it oot
  22. aye fair enough....you do realise I was only quoting UB40 lyrics
