  6. Jolt Cola I think I only ever had it in a plastic bottle though...
  7. Hollywood Vice Squad The recent discussion on this thread about Cannon films reminded me of this 1986 movie. My local video rental store had a copy but my mum thought that I was too young to watch it. I googled it yesterday and found it in full on youtube. It's a typically trashy 80s straight to video feature starring Carrie Fisher and Joey Travolta as unorthodox cops investigating porn and prostitution. There's a fair mix of violence and slapstick. It's like it can't decide if it wants to be serious or a comedy. There's all the usual 80s L.A. cliches, like street punks, hookers, pimps and drag queens. Shite, but entertaining shite. 6/10
  8. Mibbes aye, mibbes naw. Nobody will ever know because nobody will be watching. What's the story with the c**t on the left? Is he sitting down or is he just a short arse?
  9. Here's Joey Travolta reminding everyone that he's far less talented and successful than his wee brother.
  10. I love Cannon films. They always remind me of trips to the video rental shop in the 80s. American Ninja and Delta Force are a couple to leap to mind. I think Cobra was Cannon too. Cannon films really should be watched on an old tube TV and a VHS toploader. The original Exterminator film is a classic. Years since I saw it but I do recall a pretty sadistic scene where he exacts horrific vengeance on a perverted politician who had been abusing prostitutes. I've never seen the sequel.
  11. The new Sault album is available as a free download... https://www.sault.global/
  12. I just watched Gimme Shelter. I.e. the documentary about the infamous Rolling Stones gig at Altamont in 1969. This is kinda the antidote to Woodstock. It shows the dark side of the 60s counter culture scene. There's more than a few shots of people who appear to be on bad acid trips. There is also a fair amount of violence as the Hells Angels are squaring people right up at the front of the stage leading to the well documented death of some guy who pulled out a gun. Aside from that, I'm pretty sure that the guys behind Spinal Tap were fans of this film. Some of the scenes of the Stones sitting around in Hotel rooms looked very Tap-esque. Also, I had no idea until today that this film is where Shaun Ryder got his "You're rendering that scaffolding dangerous" shout that is on Bummed.
  13. That's true. He went to the Philippines to take part in a traditional Easter ceremony that involved crucifying people, but taking them down before they die. He shat out at the last moment. He's originally from Arbroath, which speaks volumes about why he looks like a tramp and is an utter shitebag.
  14. The Mike Tyson Mysteries and Black Dynamite are about the only two animated series that I've enjoyed recently.
  15. That was superb and the dancing in the background was captivating...
  16. I always liked this hit from 1988. I bought their album on the strength of this track, unfortunately the rest of it was pish.
  17. The constant replaying of that goal from Euro 96 reminded me of this...
  18. German breweries are almost as good as their fitba team.
  19. I'm still confident that we're going to win the Euros, and what better way to celebrate our impending victory than with McEwan's Champion? It is full flavoured and it weighs in at a fairly hefty 7.3%. It's not for the faint hearted and I wouldn't drink more than one of these in an evening.
  20. I love the Mondays but I've never really liked Step On. They did a better cover of another John Kongas track.
  21. First couple of Police albums are pretty good. Anything after that has been poor IMHO.
  22. Here we have some unabashed weirdness from Switzerland, with this musical interpretation of a deck of Tarot cards.
