  1. Punting this copy to here to save me looking for this again from the 2015 Milk thread. I think I called it quite well back then. Currently enjoy the Graham's Dairy Gold Cap. Some folks like Cravendale and the Jersey Cow milk from Tesco, but its Gold cap for me. I don't drink a lot of it, usually when I need to top up on animal fats for energy, since I follow a very low carb and have practically cut sugar out of my diet. My experience was that when I was young we used to get full fat milk delivered to our door step much to the delight of small birds. These wee b*****ds had nailed it, they knew naturally what it was that they needed, all that easy to get source of energy available regularly at 5 or 6 in the morning. Sometime during the 80's we switched to what we were told 'the more healthy low fat' semi skimmed. Back in the day when I was just starting out working after leaving school, I used to give breakfast a miss but would if really needed down a pint of the blue capped stuff and it would do me the morning better than a bowl of cornflakes and semi-skimmed, often not needing anything to eat until about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I think I just went off the full milk out of habit because semi skimmed was always in the fridge. Come around full circle now. Nowadays I only use semi skimmed to cool down a cup of instant coffee.

  3. Oh help me Mrs Medlicott I don’t know what to do I’ve only got three bullets And there’s four of Motley Crue
  4. Media and supporters had be throwing this rumour around for a while but Stewart Robertson the then Managing Director at Rangers confirmed this valuation back in 2019 during a Q&A. Robertson believed Morelos was in the same bracket as Moussa Dembele who joined Lyon from Celtic for £19.8m (2018). Rangers knocked back a £16.25m bid by Lille in 2020 to confirm they were serious about their valuation. You can Google it, its easy to find.

  9. Terrible news but good to see Grangemouth has been returned to close to where it originally was. Still needs to be shuffled a wee bit along the ground as its now in Falkirk.

  11. Reported that the around 250 year old 'Dark Hedges' in County Antrim internationally famous from appearing in Game Of Thrones are among the casualties
  12. No confirmation yet that the city of Dundee hasn't been blown all the way to Germany???
  13. That was crazy last night, despite ear plugs I was wakened at around 3 a loud bang and with what was like a full on assault on the front of the house (faces north west). Got back to sleep after it died down and slept until 8. Had a look outside and luckily no damage visible, though I haven't seen my chimney yet. Prabably ok as there is no debris. Has to be the strongest storm to hit the Highlands in 20 years. Nothing yet in the news from around Scotland about much structural damage to buildings. Seen the picture of a property's boundary wall that came down at Queen's Street Station low-level and quite a few trees down all over the country, Dundee I heard was bad for that, is Dundee still with us? This storm certainly had a taste for eating garden sheds and snapping wooden gates. Very little news from around the Highlands and Moray yet apart from no trains. Fortunately in Inverness we didn't lose any power.
  14. I'd imagine most of the trains will be cancelled in the morning. Be a lot of tired people. btw maximum gusts include 81 mph Prestwick and Bishopton 75mph recorded 50 minutes ago.
  15. Not good news for trees with the saturated ground from the sudden thaw now this. Worst still to come forecast 80mph to 100mph winds in the red warning areas between 2am and 4am. Highest gust so far Aonach Mor 112mph, probably more than that now. Central Scotland getting gusts of around 80mph. Tornado watch in the west as well. I would not be surprised if there are a lot of people without power by daylight tomorrow morning. The noise of that wind. This is going to be a bit more than just wheelie bins and a few fences down. Stay safe.
  16. That's a bit wild out there. Sure I saw a flash of lightning to top it off.
  17. Herbs (or is that just Californians that can't 'h'?) saying it again as this annoys me, especially if the culprit looks like a hipster. Any Scottish Gaelic word, especially those with ch The word Loch is a giant hurdle. They have great difficulty in saying the name of our favourite sport and call it something that could be a dogs name. So football.
  18. The rapid thaw since yesterday morning probably means that most pitches in the HL are now playable and roads are clear today.
  19. Anyone remember this stupid c**t below? Now GB News expert weather correspontant. With over 300 published front pages to his name, underlining his expertise in the field of mEteRoroLoLGy (he knows an ology). Often forgets that the UK gets snow every year.
  20. Those Blips seem more a like boom then bust pattern in the last 10 years, 4th then relegation, a promotion bounced 5th then relegation again. I'm sticking to the pattern in the last ten years which is recent history, since its more relevent to now. Fans often fall into the trap of talking up long past achievements from further back as if it was yesterday and that doesn't really help in the present, different times, different era. I certainly am aware of that with my club and how much shrinkage and decline can happen in a very short time and how fans deny the complete reality check of the present, since all those past successes are filed away in the memory along with how it seemed our summers used to be more sunny in the past and how you used to leave your house doors open without fear of being robbed. Pulling in 8,000 a week and playing in the Championship twice in ten years asks questions about how the club is run especially when clubs who regularly get less are able to sustain their place in the top flight such as Motherwell and St. Johnstone. Cup success of which Utd have had none in the last 10 years also have little bearing on sustaining a club at a desired league level, which was my point and the main goal in a football season for any serious club. The suggestion that Dundee are now the top team in Dundee on league placings is not that far off being correct if it hasn't already happened, there is a definate change happening as Utd slip futher down and Dundee are starting to look the more stable club of the two on top of that. St. Johnstone have taken over as the big team on Tayside over the last 10 years that cannot be desputed, certainly been overlooked. Certainly worth a thread on its own discussing what makes a comparitive big club, there would be plenty of differing opinions on the subject. Any takers?
  21. Inverness deflector shields still holding. ......and that doesn't mean certain posters of ours in the Championship threads.
