  1. Some wee stats 1-2 results have happened in 21 matches this season, that is 13% and is the most frequent result in the Championship this season. 2-1 results have happened in 15 matches this season, 9% 0-1 results have happened in 13 matches this season and 1-0 home wins have happened in 10 matches this season Airdrie, Partick, Morton and Arbroath have better points at home than away. Airdrie's is significantly more at 8 points difference, Partick are 6 points better, Morton 3 and Arbroath 1. Dundee Utd are the best team away from home with a 7 point difference, then Dunfermline and Queen's Park on 6 points difference, Inverness on 5 points, Raith and Ayr on 3 points better than at home.
  2. We're going to need a bigger trophy room then. btw £30 now for the orange away shirt in the club shop XXXXXL ???
  3. Loanee players can shrug their shoulders and go back to their clubs in the summer and put it down to a bad experience. Contracted 1st team players who were pushed out by preference from the manager will have given up knowing they are not wanted and be looking around for another club next season. I very much think the momentum and positive mental attitude is going to be with the L1 club even Montrose and the possibility of a humiliating gubbing over 2 legs is very much real. I didn't think it could get any worse than with Dodds at the start of the season, but here we are now in that position for this event to take place. Our game on Saturday will be the most important game in the club's history up to this point. Must win, a draw is not good enough.
  4. Maud have been in the top league longer than Bridge of Don Thistle and Bridge of Don Thistle have played a few seasons over the past decade in the 1st Divison as either Hillhead or Newburgh Thistle. Banks O Dee would be the other dominant team over the last decade. Sunnybank are another top club with league titles, back after suffering financial problems due to over ambition which nearly closed the football club. Their ground looks like a potential Highland League ground with some development. They would be a top half team in the HL if they went up. There isn't anyone else who really wants to. Its huge step up for teams many of which are only a step up from the amateurs. There just isn't the pool of players at HL standard to go around nor the finances. Same goes for the NCL. The Midlands League is where future HL clubs will come from.
  5. Strathspey Thistle from earlier in the season -
  6. It will be his famous last words.
  7. Rumour circulating that Lance Stroll could be retiring at the end of the season when his contract with Aston Martin ends to move into management with the F1 team.
  8. I fully expect despite the complete underestimation of Falkirk swatting Montrose aside last week, that Falkirk will easily be in the Championship playoffs next season and we could end up on the end of a 3-0 pumping at Links Park in the playoff semi finals with only 2 shots at goal from us in the whole game with our negative tactics and preferencial lonee Lowland League player standard. I think people overestimate how poor the Championship is right now and that there is a clear overlap in quality with the two leagues.
  9. It would not surprise me if Sheridan had been sold on coming to Inverness by Gardiner and Dodds and then realised he'd been done and 'wtf have I just walked into???' At least with Queen's Park they are a less of shambles of a club and team spirit actually exists.
  10. Entire prefered midfield and central defence made up of loanees. There is no backbone to the first team. This is grim. Loanees being prefered to signed players (even those with one year left) in those positions does not bode well for these contracted players to stay with the club regardless what ever league we play in next season. I can see a complete clear out at the end of season, players just wanting to go somewhere else. Continuity has always served us well, when there is chopping and changing at this club it disrupts any progress forward and is forerunner to disaster, this has been proved again and again. Massive problem with our midfield just now. I hope we can sign in at least six or seven new midfielders in the summer a couple of quality center backs, get something for a team to be built around. There is nothing in the team right now, its all currently being dismantled in front of us.
  11. Indeed, all these clubs play at a higher level than the Scottish Championship, with apart from WP have the possibility of European Competition and play in front of much bigger crowds. Probably even in leagues where the quality is better than all our top flight clubs bar Rangers and Celtic. Sheridan is probably at the smallest club now in his career and at the lowest level. All clubs you mention are far bigger than Caley Th, so Caley second smallest. I would guess that Sheridan would probably move onto another club in the summer, if he stays in Scotland I would think he would remain in the Glasgow or Cental area and play in the Championship.
  12. That's any concern of automatic relegation dismissed, now a huge game next weekend against Queen's Park. Pressure on them. Our record against Arbroath is this season = 2 wins each and a draw, last season it was 2 in our favour and two draws, 21/22 was 2 wins to us and 1 to them, the three others were draws, 20/21 was 2 wins to us and a draw, 19/20 was 1 win for us and 2 wins for them. ICT - 9 wins, 5 defeats and 7 draws against Arbroath since both teams were in the Championship at the same time, including cup and playoffs. Might as well - Against Accies, last season probably cost us a playoff place as we lost 3 games against them and won once. Also one lost in the Challenge Cup to top it off, 21/22 it was 1 for us, 2 for Accies and a draw. Overall its 13 wins for Accies and 12 for us in all competition, 6 draws. I also notice we haven't beaten Alloa in 5 games with them winning 2 and 3 draws, last win for us was in the Scottish Cup on the 18th Jan 2020. Cove have only beaten us once, in the League Cup, but as we are familiar with over the last couple of seasons we are pretty good at undoing any historical hoodoos we have over other teams while still maintaining our own. Montrose, see Michael Gardyne. If we can't beat Queen's Park next week should we start worrying?
  13. There is a high chance with the strength of these wind gusts that any ball that gets above three feet of the ground is going off in the direction the wind is blowing to seek its own fortune. Could be a day that a goal will be scored directly from a corner or that a goalkeeper will score from his own penalty box. The tactic of hoofball is going to see these footballs disappearing like balloons over the Moray Firth and away behind the Black Isle. Imagine wild Championship ball ends up in the back of the net at Dudgeon Park.
  14. Prost deliberately crashing into Senna at the chicane at Suzuka to win the title left a bad taste in the mouth. Prost not even given a slap on the wrist for that. Senna had a major gripe over the powers that be, especially Balestre whom he suspected of favouritism towards Prost. There is some footage of Senna and Balestre arguing and Senna walking out of a driver's meeting absolutely raging, Senna did not like him at all. It was all very toxic. I did enjoy the Nannini win after the clash at Suzuka, unfortunately his only one. Prost's take out on Senna was at slow speed and under braking, Prost turned in long before the corner as Senna was right along side and hit him. Absolutely Senna had the move done. Both cars stopped at the end of a straight which went from high speed to very heavy on the brakes into a slow chicane, so both cars in a dangerous position. Senna gets a push from the marshalls, drives through the run off and gets disqualified and loses the World title to Prost who caused the accident in the first place. Senna is the one whom gets punished. I get where he got his sense on injustice from and the chip on his shoulder but it didn't justify his actions at Suzuka the following year. Senna's was at high speed and looked like he was make a point rather stupidly and at great risk about 'pole position being on the wrong side of the grid'. Amazing that no one was hurt and no other cars were involved (I think though the other drivers knew what might happen). Funny though that another Benetton took full advantage to win. Schumacher was a smart one, he and the Benetton management tested the rules and everything else to their limit and beyond to gain an advantage over the faster Williams-Renault and it worked. I'm hearing that Flavio isn't in the the best of health at the moment. Great character, but a big f***ing cheat.
  15. Bonnyrigg Rose 1-2 Peterhead Clyde 2-1 Stranraer Elgin City 2-1 Spartans Forfar Ath. 1-1 Dumbarton Stenhousemuir 1-2 East Fife
  16. Airdrie 1-1 Morton Dunfermline Ath. 1-2 Partick Th. Inverness CT 1-0 Arbroath Queens Park 0-1 Dundee Utd Raith Rovers 2-1 Ayr Utd
  17. Dumbarton 1-1 Stenhousemuir East Fife 2-1 Elgin City Peterhead 1-0 Clyde Stranraer 0-0 Bonnyrigg Rose The Spartans 1-2 Forfar Ath.
  18. Ayr Utd 1-1 Airdrie Arbroath 0-2 Dunfermline Dundee Utd 1-2 Raith Rovers Morton 1-0 Queens Park Partick Thistle 1-1 Inverness CT
  19. Taking from that he is no longer an option to replace Perez next season. That was the whole point of him being at this team in the first place. So its going to be now whether he decides to be done with F1 before F1 is done with him. I'm sure he will give it his best shot, however no one escapes the axe warning, not in F1. Not a surprise, everyone could see he had lost some speed at McLaren and that wasn't down to the car. He's a different level in understanding the car and communication than de Vries was but looks like not any quicker. It would also be annoying if people start trying to lobby other teams to take him just because they believe he has an entertaining personality.
  20. Its going to be every game is going to be significantly more important than the last one. We could go into the game at Firhill four points adrift if Ayr keep up their bogey this season over Airdrie. Crazy that we have only lost one out of our last seven league games and sit in 9th. Far too many draws (5 out of last 7 ). Partick's home form isn't that bad only a point away from Raith and Dundee Utd. I'd imagine the bad run is over and its all about securing 3rd.
  21. A BG own goal in the first 10 minutes, shut up shop, park that bus and ugleee anti football all the way and some dodgy ref decisions helping us to the final whistle and the liberation of all three points heading up the road.
  22. Going into playoffs when you can't score enough goals is not going to end well. Never ends well. At the moment it might be Montrose who we could be up against. When you have people telling you about the lower standard this season of teams in the playoff places in L1, that does not bode well for us, I don't believe them. Even if we get past Montrose we will certainly get pumped by Accies who seem to beat us regardless how rank they are at the time. So we need to win, a draw is no use. We are in the position now where we are starting to look at the other teams results to go our way. Not good.
  23. This is a must win for us, no chance we are going to draw our way out of 9th place and into safety. After 3 draws in this fixture it stands to reason that this one will end in a win for someone. If this was up in Inverness I would be less confident. As I mentioned before we have traditionally gone on a late season runs of wins, with only 8 games left is a case of soon, when? or never.
  24. The Bught was ruled out back when the site for the new stadium was discussed back in the early 90's. It would be a nightmare with traffic and parking. Plus there was a concern among the residents with noise and trouble. The Bucht itself is not suitable anyway because no one wants anything built there, no one wants to lose any more green space and we found out how much opposition there is to change when Inverness City had a temporary pitch there, the club were not allowed to close the gate for the boundary fence when it wasn't being used as the public had right of way. So people could walk through the ground if they wanted including dog walkers. So many reason why the Bucht Park was a bad idea for a football ground especially one that had ambitions to play in the top flight.
  25. Well that is impossible as explained earlier with the pipes running close to the opposite side of the pitch, no stand can be built there. Unless you mean the other side of the road and having the Main Stand there and which would require a floating pitch, facing east it would still be open to the elements especially in winter.
