  1. No excusing bad pitches, stuff happens like weather once in a while but once a pattern of call-offs is established because of the state of a pitch then its pointless making excuses. I did say Livi should sort themselves out but they are not going to anytime soon with changing out their old rug. If they beat Celtic on the last day of the month, it might be totally worth it just for the shits and giggles, especially if Celtic and their armys of darkness blame that pitch. Dens has been a tattie field for years, everyone knows that. Bad pitches are bad pitches regardless of whether they are grass or plastic. Nothing is better than a well maintained grass pitch. We used to have a bowling green like surface at Inverness for years. Nairn County, Station Park was very nice as well.
  2. Clyde 1-2 The Spartans Dumbarton 1-0 Bonnyrigg Rose East Fife 3-2 Stranraer Elgin City 0-0 Forfar Ath. Stenhousemuir 2-1 Peterhead
  3. Arbroath 0-4 Partick Thistle Ayr Utd 1-1 Queen's Park Dundee Utd 0-2 Inverness CT Morton 1-2 Dunfermline Athletic
  4. Just the game at Motherwell. Kilmarnock played that day and have an artificial surface. I don't see any other games on the fixture list that were played that day in the top flight. Which other game were on? The only other games to survive that day in the SPFL whom have grass was at Firhill and the Caledonian Stadium, no one else did. The other two leagues, the only three games that survived were on an artificial surfaces, Hamilton, Stenhousmuir and Forfar, all the others were off. I would say Livingston pitch is an very much outlyer and not a good example of all artificial pitches. Livingston really need to sort themselves out.
  5. How would a ban on artificial surfaces in the top flight have an effect on the playoffs? I can think of a few scenarios that create an absolute farce, just Scottish football being Scottish football.
  6. Funny thing is a fourth place finish isn't that far in front of us, considering our annual habit of going on good runs towards the end of the season. Imagine the banter if this actually happened, .......................imagine the cranial detonations???
  7. I don't believe that means anything in playoffs. Brechin City is a good example of one of the worst teams ever to get to the playoffs and then succeed in a two leg final against a bigger team with so called better players. Its about who turns up on the day . Poor teams get found out during a season, but easily can wing it over four games with the right tactics and motivation. If we end up in the playoffs I'd take no one for granted, especially our old nemesis bogey team Hamilton Accies. Another way of looking at it and not taking anything for granted is you just have to look at the cup games, example the Scottish Cup this season and the surprise results.
  8. Easy 3 points for us. Another dodgy penalty given, Billy McKay scores 1-0 up, shut up shop. Job done.
  9. Lodovica is out of contract end of season, I doubt he will be here next season regardless of which league we end up in. We have only 5 or 6 players under contract for next season, Billy McKay and those signed at the start of last season on a two year, everyone else is up for renewal or away, plus lots of loanees who will go back to their clubs. Regardless of which league we end up in, its going to be a big clear out in the summer. Huge job for the management team. I think even those who still have a year left on their contract might not get that far.
  10. I don't think ''long run'' enters anyone's thoughts just now, especially when it would add to costs in the present. If I recall it was considered a few years back and then left. I don't see any reason to change to artificial and make it an issue in the future, plus the players train at Ft. George and have done since we moved from Telford Street.
  11. With this playoff talk does that mean folks are confident that we will avoid administration?
  12. Only 12 clubs from 42 allowed to vote?? So when the elite Premiership breakaway from the SPFL?
  13. Far as I'm aware the stadium faces the correct way. It would look a bit daft if the main entrance was on the opposite side from the access road.
  14. Imagine if the last game of the season decides which of our clubs ends up in the playoffs. Could happen.
  15. I'd rather have a view overlooking the Moray Firth than looking up at rows and rows of tenements. But each to their own.
  16. Over the years Ross County, Partick, Dunfermline, Falkirk and Ayr, clubs of mid size have spent time in the third tier some more than once after relegation. Stands to logic that we would find ourselves in that position sometime in the future. I've never been to Kelty, I've not seen Cove's new ground. Spend a weekend in Dumfries/ the borders (Annan), Quite like Ochiview and the Rec (or whatever its called now), two maybe three Angus grounds if Forfar go up, Stirling, not been there for a while. Maybe Peterhead or Dumbarton can't complain there or go or watch Dick Campell's East Fife side against us which should be entertaining asides I haven't been to McPhails in Leven for years. Some good away options open just now, see how they narrow as the season comes to its concusion, see how our own season plays out first before admitting defeat as we go down 4-1 on agg in the playoffs semi against Montrose. I would be just like us to beat Dundee Utd 1-0 away from home next weekend though to divert attention back to these sodding batteries. Why doesn't Gardiner just open a francise Rangers shop in the city center with a percentage donated to save The Caley, its a sure winner in a city like Inverness.
  17. ICT should have filed the battery farm under an artistic statement after all this has succeeded in the past with our joke of a council. The mistake was to mention it had anything to do with sport. Anyone know what is the point in this expensive white elephant V which pissed off the local anglers and looks like a barely started stone footbridge which ran out of money to complete, which did happen. There's no place like Inverness.
  18. Bonnyrigg Rose 1-2 Clyde Forfar Athletic 2-1 Stenhousemuir Peterhead 1-2 East Fife Stranraer 2-0 Elgin City Spartans 3-1 Dumbarton
  19. Dunfermline 0-3 Dundee Utd Airdrie 2-0 Arbroath Inverness CT 2-1 Ayr Partick Thistle 1-2 Morton Queens Park 1-1 Raith Rovers
  20. East Fife 3-0 Dumbarton Elgin City 2-1 Bonnyrigg Rose Forfar 1-0 Clyde Peterhead 2-2 Stranraer Stenhousemuir 1-1 Spartans
  21. Dundee United 3-0 Arbroath ICT 1-0 Airdrie Queen's Park 1-2 Partick Thistle Raith Rovers 2-0 Dunfermline
  22. We could end up four points adrift by 5pm if we lose today and the other results go against us. Not looking good.
  23. Not really a surprise when there is only 5 points seperating Ayr in 5th and Inverness 9th, no one is safe in that group. Even you guys and Partick although you have a cushion aren't exactly clear just yet.
