The Livingston situation should have been a massive points deduction. As things have turned out the penalty imposed on Livingston has gained them a Championship trophy with a real possibility of a second this forthcoming season. Rather than prove a point the SFL could find themselves in real trouble if a team from the bottom two leagues finds themselves in financial difficulties. I see they're now outbidding first division clubs for players, and all that pish about keeping a full-time squad last season only because they were too honourable to breach contracts is right out the window. We offered full time football on a two year deal, which is very attractive to most professional footballers in the lower Scottish leagues. It of course depends on what the weekly wage is but I'd imagine it in most cases it does. We haven't outbid anyone he chose Livingston. It's not a crap argument at all. Most players, especially those dropping a division or two, move for more money. Think of David Bingham and others who dropped divisions previously because we were offering more money than those in higher leagues. They tend to think only of the short term. A two year deal commits the club to pay him even if we stay in the 2nd or get relegated to the 3rd next season when it's feasible that part time would need to be considered.
