South Lanarkshire Jag
Does anyone know a good bookbinders, based in Glasgow? Preferably I'm looking for one that specialises in short run books as I'm looking for just a single copy of a book that will be around 1050 pages long.

Maybe one of the university printers?
Njord
Could've gone in the trainer thread , but screw that. Would give them 'acceptability'. Laces. On boots , or plimsolls. Why are they so long? Is the twist/ loop tie thingy too posh? Why are they soooo long, a and what knots would you tie to avoid going head over breests.
Mark Connolly
Anyone know anything about gas hobs? I have a 5 burner hob, and the middle one refuses to stay lit. The gas flows fine, and it will spark up, but will go out when I release the button. Even if it does stay on, it normally cuts out after a minute or two. All 4 other burners are fine. I have had the heating on and the windows open if that helps.

Leave the gas on for a wee while then go back and try to light it with a match.
Mark Connolly
Leave the gas on for a wee while then go back and try to light it with a match. I used to like you. Well, at least I didn't hope you'd die in a fireball - I had hoped you felt the same.
supermik
Does it have a little copper/brass rod that sits under the ring inside the flame? If it does then try cleaning it with a dry Brillo pad. If that does not fix it then call a gas safe person out as it is unsafe.

Was hoping it would be something relatively simple, but I'm not a fan of risking anything with gas or electrics.

It could be the flame failure device (thermocouple) if fitted, has given up the ghost.

NotThePars
Fife Spud AFAIR. Aye I figured that. Long shot but does anyone have the thread? I need to send it to his son. Found out he literally had to go out and purchase an envelope to send it back. I don't care if that's old news that's real commitment to hating a managerial appointment.
