grumswall
Some might see the fact that McGlynn hasn,t fixed our frailties makes him a failure? He's signed macdonald who is an improvement at lb, he's signed Miller who is an actual rb and he's signed mendy who has made mistakes while he had a concussion but actually looked decent pre season. It's too early for this nicker wetting and writing players off. We still have Vaughan and Dingwall to come back which will make a massive difference. We've played 3 and won 2. Keep that going and we will end up with around 72 points come the end of the season which will be enough for a top four finish, which is realistically our goal this season.
CALDERON
First quarter is a fair barometer. We've had a mixed bag already in the league. A hard fought win, a comfortable win, and a close defeat. The next few games will give us a much more accurate picture as to whether we really have improved or not. If we are still saying these same things in Oct, that's a different story.
Pride of Fife
Disappointed but far from shocked at result. Hopefully a blip but considering the away form of last two or three seasons, I doubt it. On a different note, just read that Livi made their 1st trip to Station Park for 8 years today when both were in the 4th tier (and we had just finished 2nd in Championship). Depressing that they are in their 2nd season in premier league now while we are establishing ourselves as a solid league two outfit.
Wee Sandy
Some of the stuff on here is beyond belief!! Here's one for the more extreme knicker wetters... most of whom were NOT at the game. ..... When we sack McGlynn ( not that he remotely deserves it) where does the money come from to pay him off, PLUS where do we get the money (not that we have any) for a replacement Manager...and who would do a better job than John McGlynn?

Nobody is questioning McDonald or Miller, its the central defensive partnership thats coming under scrutiny by some. For the record,Davidson was excellent against Clyde.Mendy,as you say looked semi decent pre season but time will tell regards him Vaughan and Dingwall coming back doesnt fix our shipping of goals I agree a top four finish is our goal and should be realistic Edited August 17, 2019 by Rovers_Lad

From what iv seen of them so far far both davo and bene have actually been playing better this season. They both still have mistakes in them. What strikes me though is we don't really have the defenders or even midfielders who are chucking their body's in front of everything which was a big part in why mcglynn was a success in the past.

Mendy is never a footballer in a million years. It's a scandal that we pay money to watch clowns like him pull on the Rovers shirt. He is a monument to McGlynn's inability to solve our defensive problems though. We've conceded 18 goals in 8 competitive games this season, if my quick arithmetic is right. That's an absolute disgrace. McGlynn needs to go, and the sooner the better. Maybe the board should start a supporters' fund to cover his severance package.

There is a reason Mendy had never played probfoitball. There is a reason why Smith wasn't working in football. Both useless but both rated by McClown.

THREE seasons is not a success I understand that people aren't happy with his current tenure, but calling Mcglynn a failure in his first term just smacks of biterness. Disliking a manager is one thing, but re writing history to justify it is another. He came into the club when it was an absolute mess and the team were 9th in this league. He then improved the league position for 5 seasons in a row, giving us our highest league finish in the last 20 years. Getting Dalziels team to 4th was a minor miracle. He improved the team the following season and we were up there with Ross County til about Xmas (who had a budget that far exceeded ours) . Then he won the league, kept us up (with a Scottish Cup Semi Final) then launched a title challenge in the league above as well. Some failure. THREE seasons is not a successEvery season mcglynn was here we seen season on season progression, reached the Scottish Cup semi final and came within 3 games or so of promotion to the premiership. He's our most successful manager since Jimmy nicholl. So yes he was a success.
