Tiwi daramola. Yeah, no experience at championship level, but who knows?? Bo’ness is fucking miles and miles and miles off the Championship. Scoring at that level is zero barometer for how good he is.
Hank Scorpio
We’ve just got far too many players who all want to play the same position. Vaughan, Easton, Gullan, Stanton and Ross are all number 10s. So we end up with one of them up front, one at centre mid and one of them out wide which completely blunts out attacking threat. Each and every one of those players will be on a healthy wage and we are getting very little in return.

To be clear it's Bo'ness Athletic who are in the East of Scotland Third Division (Tier 9) and have scored 100 goals in 17 games, not Bo'ness United who are in the Lowland League. That's a long, long way off the standard of League Two, never mind the Championship.

McGuigan1978
Aye, signing a load of players on long term deals and lumbering us with a wage bill which is only sustainable if we get two really good cup draws, probably wasn’t the best of ideas tbqh.

We also need another wide option if Ross is going to be perma-crocked. We can't try and ride out the season on the back of a classy midfield and decent centre backs. That’s how its looked like panning out since the start of the season. Thankfully the midfield have managed to score enough goals so far. Cross your fingers that one of the forwards finds a bit of form. Five league game without a win. Accies away up next. Things can only get better

I wonder what the issue is with Ethan Ross? A year ago he looked like a great player. Scored cracking goals against Morton (20th November 2021) and Inverness (8th January 2022). Injuries, I’m assuming.

That means our best hope here is probably already affiliated. -People with (true) talent could be even rarer than those with principles. What we would ideally seek is a local resident/ex-resident who seeks to buy the Club to establish it as a stable and revenue neutral Community Club that can play in the second and third tier of Scottish football…sounds a lot like John Sim…who is willing to put football people in charge and still maintain a gimlet eye on spending, expenses and revenues, either personally or via a hatchet person installed in the Organization. That’s at tall order…Plan B is a white knight looking for a club to develop talent in the area, but that’s the Pars model and is still untested. Ah well, grumpy pensioners and grifters it is then. It’s all we know.
pantene proV
Anyone else not happy with our manager singling out the keeper for criticism in the post-match interview? Yes he was directly at fault for the first goal, but when your only option at the moment is to play that self-same 21 year old you should make damn sure not to knock his confidence too much.

It could have been Sim and he could have worked to secure a decent legacy with the Community Hub built and some model of ownership going forward with fan involvement at the heart. Unfortunately he turned out to be an arrogant oddball and from reports of those who had to work with him, a control freak who wouldn't listen to anyone else. Now he’s secured his legacy as up (or down) there with McGowan and Short as shite owners who ran the club into a ditch. A total waste.

Tbh, I haven’t bothered to watch any of Murray’s recent interviews. Same old pish every time. McNeil hasn’t seen a sniff of first team football until 3 games ago where he was thrown in with no backup. First two games he looked solid, very good saves, only thing letting him down being distribution which will come with time. Looked shaky yesterday but made a couple of harder saves than they normally would be. At the end of the day; he’s a young lad, young keepers generally are unusual in professional football, he’s shown he’s a good prospect and needs backing.

Thought this was an odd approach. Keeper was dross but given the fact the Morton keeper also had a howler he had an easy way out by blaming it on the conditions. Maybe suggests he’s feeling the pressure a bit?

Some possible wide options on the table would be Coulson (what happened, IM soured?), Mahady (not up for it) or Mitchell (promising, but still too raw?). I don’t see us signing people, just can’t see it, unless we unload some dross.
