It's an interesting one for the future Wonder why we went fir him yet released the other young left back whose name escapes me.

It might be that Young wanted more first team exposure than what we could offer. He'd been playing regularly on loan elsewhere and they've agreed he wouldn't get that with us.

Each of them will have their merits on the pitch too. It might be they rate Callum as being a better prospect or as a start for any he reserves or youth system. Time will tell.

I know there's a few folk who sit about the same area as me at Starks so they'll know Callum's family. He had a few SPFL clubs keeping tabs on him and he's ex Fife Elite too.

Absolutely delighted for the lot of them.

My sons mate , delighted for him and his family great lad and is definitely one of our own 🔵⚪

I definitely recognise his mum. She's a row or two in front of me and maybe a dozen seats or so along.

Fiona Hannah and family sit in the row in front of me and I've watched over the years as Callum has moved further along the row from his mum as he's got older. Not so far that he can't still bother her for money for a pie, but he's clearly now too cool to be sitting with his Maw. Now he'll be sitting in the stand, or maybe even on the bench, and will need to get his own.

Great news - local laddie doing well.

Aye, I'm the row in front of them. Got talking to them over the years and they're brand new. It's trite to say but they've been all over Scotland for his games so it's great to see.

It's fantastic to see a young local lad being given a chance, It's even better when he's a Rovers fan too. Delighted for the boy and hope he goes on to be a first team regular in the not too distant future.

What a feeling it must be to suddenly be playing alongside the team you've spent your Saturday's going along to support, in particular the likes of Vaughan and Matthews who he'll have grown up idolising.
