The New Raith Rovers Thread

I am not going to lie we have went down from our SPL top six days, cup finals (won't mention Europe as that was a disaster). And you guys seem to have finally to have got over the Anelka times. I have no problem treating you like any other club that plays in the same league as us.

We actually won a cup to get to Europe, not through the glorious runners up way.

Sorry mate we didn't make the rules and we are hardly going to say no to a trip to Europe. Although a bit hypocritical what you posted, you didn't win the national trophy you won the secondry one so who got in the back door on that occasion? To be fair we can bicker like this on a forum all day. It's not really worth it.

Guest Dunc?

I can't remember what we got up to, but at least we didn't release a special kit for a competition that we didn't qualify for.

Just because he signed a new contract in March doesn't mean he will be on a big wage. He obviously is not considered to be a first team regular so I doubt they would pay large wages for what they see as a back up.

If he wasn't in Craig Levein's plans then why would he have signed a new contract? Your continuing to dig yourself into a hole over this rumour you've made up.

Of course it would have been great if we won the league cup, I am only saying that it should only be the national cup winners that should qualify( I don't believe Scottish cup runners up should qualify either) and you guys got in through he back door as well. I am glad the authorities seen sense and abolished it.

Are you claiming that Kevin Smith after a decent season in the 2nd division will be on a large wage on his new contract?

Are you sure? Really?

Which round did you reach?

Very true, but we did play in a European tie so we launched a european top, it had been a while and people wanted to see the team play in the traditional style , I didn't think something so trivial would upset other fans.

I'm not upset, I'm just amused.

The shirt had "UEFA CUP" stitched under the badge, despite the fact you never actually played in the Uefa Cup.

I'm looking forward to this year's Raith Rovers' Champions League kit.

No, I'm saying that after a good season in the second, Kevin has probably improved his chances of winning a first team spot and wouldn't be unlikely to settle for a place on the bench at a mid-table first division club: instead playing for a first division club where he has previously been a success, has an excellent rapport with the fans and is familiar with the majority of the squad. Even still, Kevin may be happy to be on the bench at united.
