throbber
It's just a green jumper ? Why would cause a stir? Because people are c***s . I wish it wouldn’t cause a stir and people just saw it as a harmless slogan on a green jumper but it’s hardly going to be the case is it?

Correct. Because people are c***s. Speak for yourself.
throbber
Why do folk see the skin colour rather than just a kid? Because of the words that are on his attire. No matter how much you can strive for racial equality people are always going to notice someone’s ethnicity.
Myko
My missus works for H&M and seemingly it was their main marketing division in Stockholm, and the garment's manufacturer, that pushed this through despite UK advising them of potential repercussions.

Sweden must be different but you simply can’t get away with it in the U.K. without people kicking up fuss about it. It’s a fucking weird slogan to have anyway.

throbber
What's weird about it ?I'm not seeing an issue here. The people who have an issue with this are the ones who really need to have a wee hard look at themselves I just don’t like slogan. Monkeys aren’t exclusive to the jungle either.I don’t take offence to it myself but it is so obvious that people would take offence to the slogan if it was modelled by a black child, particularly in the U.K. I wish it wasn’t this way but someone from H&M should have stepped in to put a stop to it.
Bully Wee Villa
You'd have to have been living under a rock not to know that racists have used "monkey" as a racist term of abuse for black people for centuries. This isn't people looking to get offended, this is a company acting like twats and getting, rightly, called out for it.
Bully Wee Villa
No, the company acted like twats because they put a black boy in a top with "monkey" written on it. Anyone who has ever read, heard or seen anything, ever, will know that even insinuating a comparison between a black person and a monkey is offensive. This isn't complicated, mate. Has the new Irn Bru got to you? [emoji14]

I've the same answer. Humans are c***s You must have seen shots of "fans" making monkey gestures towards black players, and throwing bananas at them. That's the context.

Shandon Par
We seem to have regressed in recent times. What kind of moron needs told it’s poor form to wish to label a black person a monkey?
coprolite
We seem to have regressed in recent times. What kind of moron needs told it’s poor form to wish to label a black person a monkey? My kid, who is mixed race, chose a picture frame for her mother's day that says "mummy's little monkey" around the picture. she then put a picture of herself in it.Was this an act of self loathing? are these frames only suitable for white kids? Why can't a black kid be a little monkey like a white kid, you supremacist, patronising fùckers?

Humans are c***s Humans are c***s but a company as big as H&M should know that advertising a black child as a monkey in the jungle may be seen by some as racist. It’s not really that difficult to understand the problem with this photo and it’s not a case of people just getting offended by anything.
