Why isn't Northern Ireland a British nation?

As far as I'm aware, GB is the mainland so includes Scotland, England and Wales only and the UK is GB plus Northern Ireland.  In fact, it isn't the UK, it' s the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Norther Ireland.

This. We are the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Or, as the rest of the world thinks us, England.

Watching 'Ancient Aliens' for the first time. Half laughing, half welcoming our new overlords.

I think it's my favourite show right now, I love how they are explaining something from an archeological standpoint and then all of a sudden some ancient aliens expert appears on screen and says "but what if.........coz aliens"

In a hotel in Washington DC and in the minibar, between the Snickers bar and the beef jerky is this.

Very, very posh w**k

In a similar vein, I have been wearing mostly just these, drinking champagne and enjoying a couples’ massage. Positively drained.

eta - forgot to attach pic - dozy c**t

I am going private with healthcare and I feel like I’m cheating on thee NHS though - it was the NHS doctor that told me I would be better going private as it’d take months on the NHS (my consultation with the private specialist has been arranged today and I’m being seen in 2 weeks). Am I being stupid for feeling guilty? It’s also costing me a minimum of £200, most likely more.

It's just queue jumping, you'll get the same treatment as anyone else. I wouldn't feel too guilty about it. Most people could afford £200 if they chose.

P.S. The "private specialist" is more than likely moonlighting from his NHS job.

I hate private medicine; absolutely hate it.  I don’t need to go into the reasons as they’re probably the same reasons that are making you feel guilty.

I’d like to think I’d never go down that route but can’t swear to it.  Probably be even more difficult I feel it was my wife, kids or grandkids who needed treatment.

The fact that you’re feeling guilty shows you have character.
