A pal of mine, who I worked with from time to time, died a couple of weeks ago.

Today I submitted our last research paper together. The journal editor agreed that he can stay on the paper as an author (even though the submission system requires his consent) and suggested a dedication at the end of the paper.

Nice wee touch. Now it goes out for review.

I was due to be credited as a contributor to a paper on the use of Dowel Laminated Timber in construction by Napier University but left the company I was at before it was published. The MD told them to remove my name - petty, petty, petty

He was a private researcher in his latter years, an archaeology specialist.

In his earlier career he built fighter planes.

In my last place of work, I was one of 4 editors of a book. The "final" draft was ready in July 2013. Started my new job on August 1st 2013.

Book came out in October 2013 and my name was replaced by that of my old boss. I was relegated to the acknowledgments. Pettiness indeed. A huge reason I never worked with them again.

As an aside, drop me a pm about timber any time. I have worked with the Napier group over the years.

A heroine of our time. RIP Cathy xx.

Tells you everything you need to know about the compliant state media when, not getting the answer he desired - the interviewer said that her response was "a horrible thing to say".

It's a victimless crime.
