I'm "almost" at the stage of signing on, though I really don't want to.

It's a fucking shambles what hoops you need to go through, and I don't meet the criteria for making the claim (not the decision, the fuckin' claim).

I'm guessing a lack of a permanent address?

Me: Do you know what time this bus is due into town (inter town service terminus)

Bus Driver: How the hell am I meant to know?!

That's the sort of attitude that makes buses 15-20 mins late, making me sweat over catching my train. I mean, what sort of traffic could possibly be on the roads at 7am on a Saturday morning FFS. Rant over.

When I signed on, I never thought I'd qualify due to savings, the other half's income etc, and only went along to keep the NI contributions going for my future pension.

I was therefore more than pleasantly surprised when they told me I was eligible for £70p/w (or whatever it is) because of the tax I'd paid into the system over the previous year.

The folk I dealt with were actually really good with me, giving me quite a lenient time possibly because I never turned up in grey jobby-catchers. Of course filling out a form with idealistic garbage can be a pain in the hoop, but worth ~280p/m imo. That said, I wasn't being made to apply for every job on their machine.

That boy Eugene reeks of small town mentality he just looks like your average student w****r you'd expect to find in the West end of Glasgow although that's probably a bit harsh on them as they'll no doubt moved on from that played out hipster look over a year ago.

Out hipstering you, but he's been like that about ten year. I truly think he is to blame for the whole 'trend' in Dundee.
