What a ride from Ganna in the Giro.

As for JA in Brabantse Pijil, what an idiot. You'd have thought he'd learned his lesson in LBL?. Hands up, celebrating, going over the line & nearly caught out by MVP in the sprint.

To say he shat himself, by his face, was an understatement. Lucky laddie.

😂

It would have been hilarious if MVP had pipped Alaphillipe on line. You really couldn't make it up. His DS must have had a heart attack.

Alaphilippe looks back to his very very best. Close to and arguably better than the rider at the tour last year

Considering he used his head, & experience, to block Van der Poel in, til the last second, then nearly threw it away.  Must still be favourite for Ghent Wevelgem at the weekend.

Paris-Roubaix cancelled.
[emoji17] Best race of the year and especially disappointing given was due to be the first female edition. Totally understandable and correct though. On the plus side it means one fewer thing to split my attention between on super Sunday!

Simon Yates out of the Giro after returning a positive Covid test, which was confirmed by another positive follow up test.
The reason for his under performing? With a 14 day incubation, will we see a spike in participants by the race end?

Matt White said before the tour he thought it was mad to think they'd get through the grand tours without a rider testing positive. Got to think they'll increase the testing frequency now. Also hadn't realised that the vuelta was cut to 18 stages!

Mass disqualification due in RVV? Peloton break through tapes deployed at railway crossing, after Eddie Bos fires off the front in time to beat it. Break now at 7.12 ahead.
Would think so, did they not do similar a few years back in one of the big one dayers?

Boassen Hagen was obviously alert to train times & possible hold ups. Sure somebody on twitter said he was looking to beat a second crossing as well, that I/Eurosport missed in the split coverage with the Giro.

Alaphillippe, season over, crashes into m/bike in RVV, whilst in lead group with WVA & MVP.

Looks like collarbone. Just leaves the other 2 with a lead of 40 secs on the peloton. 27 km to go.

Lead 1.14 with 17 km to go.

Moto rider getting pelters, but there was no reason for Van Aert to get that close to the motorbike.
